Aston may not be the biggest commercial success these days but it’s undeniable that they keep producing exciting cars for the enthusiasts. jaGUar could learn a thing or two…
Saw one of these at a factory tour of Aston Martin Works recently and was so confused as to what I was looking at until it was explained to me that it wasn't, in fact, the V12 Speedster. Super cool to see you driving this
What a masterpiece… I used to drive my Morgan plus 8 with just aero screen all year round, no helmet just a woolly hat in the winter - the only way to travel, you feel so connected with your surroundings.
Awesome fun video Shmee! Thanks for all the fun videos you put out. Don't worry about the haters, you have a lot more admiring fans out there that repect and enjoy what you do.
There are cool collections but this one… so tasteful. Only the crème de la crème in amazingly elegant specs. What a sight. Also thank you and congrats for the opportunity.
One of the best, if not the best looking open top modern speedsters that evokes racers of old. A perfect blend of modern technology and old school charm. The silver with blue decal is what it makes it better than the green car that debuted alongside the Valkyrie. Absolutely stunning, the person (or team) that spec-ed the car got it spot on. Absolutely stunning, and I'm not a fan of open top speedsters.
We don't have to race or drive high speed in our cars to have an epic experience. This is a wonderful car, driving slowly along the favorite main boulevard of your city. Love it!
Hi Tim, Hello from Frankfurt!👋 Beeing a Fan of your Videos since your early carspotter days!😉👍 Your really came around in the supercar world and could experience many of the greatest cars of all time! I have to say Aston Martin allways was (and is) special! As a kid in the 90s I experienced the Lagonda and from that moment Aston Martin was on my radar! You know there are cars, supercars... but an Aston Martin is different! To me they are doing the perfect cars! Soo much style, elegance and sound! Even the Valkyrie is the perfect road legal Hypercar to me! And I love that they keep doing V12 engines!👌 The DBR22 brings perfect Mille Miglia and 50s Racecar feelings but I would definitely increase the windshield height a bit on my DBR22, if I had one...
14:34 "This isn't your... go pick up the kids from school car." That's exactly what it is!! Kids will love it, and you don't have to drive really fast to enjoy it.
Tim, I'm not new to your videos, but I still find my jaw on the floor with how easily you name cars and their history without a second thought. As for the how silly it would be to service that car...geez. They would do better to work on it from underneath it seems
Already seen 4 of them, all in the Netherlands. 3 green ones and a grey one. Even got the chance to ride along in a green dbr22 after spotting it in Laren in the Netherlands!
I used to work in the supply chain at Gaydon, I remember the 1st one coming off line the with no shell or really much else, very Fred Flintstone . Remember being giving a shopping list by Q branch for various fixings for it.
Absolutely stunning car & spec, 😳....would be extremely impractical where I live though (if i could afford it!!), as the African sun would eat that interior for breakfast!!!! As you mention, a toy for Monaco, or Beverly Hills!
Saw one of them a few weeks ago in my hometown, competing in the Gran Premio Nuvolari, and driven by UFI Filters boss and owner! I couldn't believe my eyes...
I got the feeling I saw this video before😂😉. Maby it time for more aston in the garage Tim. DBR22 is i think a good success off the v12 speedster. Saw 2 in the Netherlands
Shmee150 Absolutely Review I think it's absolutey incredible that you got to Drive that Absolutely Gorgeous Aston Martin DBR22 especially knowing that they're so rare and I can't wait to see what you'll review next
If accessing the engine takes 4 hours I sure hope it has a fire suppression system under the front facia. If not you better have one in the cabin. Definitely art for sure, but not usable.
Ya know what ??? A manual geared one would be bonkers, and I think I'd have a blast tbh 🤔 Something about the helmet turned me off, but having a manual gear would offset that 😬
So far, this is the only barchetta that comes close to looking as good as the Ferrari Monza. I am surprised we haven't seen more if it online. This and the Lamborghini Sian seem very underrepresented.
Shmee/ Tim I know your into your Ferrari's but I think it's time you add a new Aston to the Shmee collection if you can. I would love to see how you spec it.
Obviously a video from the summer, but still cool. BTW have you seen the 2 reviews on the Purosangue by Chris Harris and the other by Hammond? I would suggest Chris’ was very unbiased and fair while Hammonds’ was an unfair rant about how he doesn’t like Ferrari full stop . Interesting to hear other people’s opinions.
Do you have your own insurance for these drives or are you covered by the owners insurance? I've seen some automotive youtubers talking about it before like Doug Demuro and I think it's an interesting subject.

It must be one the next kept secrets of modern cars
Ah, I was super confused because I'd seen the V12 Speedster before. Regardless, based on the name this car is 2 years old, no?
That's one beautiful looking car
What a masterpiece… I used to drive my Morgan plus 8 with just aero screen all year round, no helmet just a woolly hat in the winter - the only way to travel, you feel so connected with your surroundings.
There’s nothing masterpiece about having to take four hours to get access for engine service.
@ if you can afford the €1.7 million purchase price access to the engine is not an issue.
8:29 Shmee with the Johnny Bravo haircut 😂
Woah momma
Awesome fun video Shmee! Thanks for all the fun videos you put out. Don't worry about the haters, you have a lot more admiring fans out there that repect and enjoy what you do.

Aston Martin is incapable of making a bad looking car... Jesus Christ they're all gorgeous.
Maybe because they all look the same - they look great - but all very similar 😂
V550 isn't particularly pretty, but it isn't awful.

I’ve never heard of that car before ! Thanks bringing it up 👌
Aston Martin had an amazing year. Vantage, Vanquish, now this 🤩
This car came out 2 years ago
@ Oops, well it looks modern 😅
beautiful to see you taking this astonishing Aston Martin for a drive on country roads. Thanks for taking us along with you Shmee!
We don't have to race or drive high speed in our cars to have an epic experience. This is a wonderful car, driving slowly along the favorite main boulevard of your city. Love it!
7 seconds old video. Last time I was this early, my wife was disappointed.
😂😂
At least you were in. Your wife should be thankful for small mercies!
...and the winner of comment of the day goes to....thanks for the laugh!!!
🤐
At least she’s your wife. Last time that happened to me I wasted $80 for 45 seconds. And she charged by the hour unfortunately 😔
What an elegant beautiful rear this Aston Martin has! Austin Martin's are beautiful cars!
Thanks for sharing this experience Tim!
Hi Tim,
Hello from Frankfurt!👋 Beeing a Fan of your Videos since your early carspotter days!😉👍

Love the Astons all being together in the garage ! The DBR22 looks great!!
I work in sales for Aston in the US and this car 100% slipped the cracks. 99% of people indeed do not know this exists
I didn't know it existed until 5 minutes ago
This seems more like a piece of art than something I’d ever want to drive.
What a beautiful looking car! Aston is on the roll with another beauty!
I can see why nobody has reviewed the car. Its just a rebodied v12 speedster for collectors.
Don't every other manufacturer do the same
@@Inactiveaccounthp... No
James has got competition for the “Mr Aston Martin” role 😮
Wow that is stunning! Aston Martin make some of the most beautiful cars on the road!
14:34 "This isn't your... go pick up the kids from school car." That's exactly what it is!! Kids will love it, and you don't have to drive really fast to enjoy it.
Second watch, saw it when you uploaded in error a while back.
Such a beautiful car! Much better than the V12 speedster that got a lot more coverage
Great you get these opportunities. Thanks for sharing
I love the open top cars and this is an awesome looking Aston Martin and that V12 sounds incredible.🤯
Aston Martin keep nailing it car after car.
That's one beautiful looking car
It's way more beautiful than the V12 Speedster. Masterpiece 😍
Tim, I'm not new to your videos, but I still find my jaw on the floor with how easily you name cars and their history without a second thought. As for the how silly it would be to service that car...geez. They would do better to work on it from underneath it seems
That looks absolutely beautiful
stunning car, well done, lucky lad !
I just saw this one in Hong Kong yesterday! Wow!! Well done 👍🏻
Shmee is the only one I’d let babysit my supercar without worrying about it getting abuse.
Already seen 4 of them, all in the Netherlands. 3 green ones and a grey one. Even got the chance to ride along in a green dbr22 after spotting it in Laren in the Netherlands!
5:30 these digital dials are so much better then the new ones
Can't wait for the Valhalla Shmee!
22 made. 11 to Manny Khoshbins garage, 11 to the Sultan and his 10 wives 👍
Snoopy on a nato, snap, just picked mine up, nice watch ❤
That rear 3/4 view is beautiful
Beautiful. But four hours to open the engine bay? Any fire under there means that car will be destroyed.
I used to work in the supply chain at Gaydon, I remember the 1st one coming off line the with no shell or really much else, very Fred Flintstone . Remember being giving a shopping list by Q branch for various fixings for it.
Now that’s a nice looking car.
The DBR22 is quite the stunner. I wonder how it'll look in red? 😉 Can't wait to experience one of these in person.
Absolutely stunning car & spec, 😳....would be extremely impractical where I live though (if i could afford it!!), as the African sun would eat that interior for breakfast!!!! As you mention, a toy for Monaco, or Beverly Hills!
at this point aston really has way to many special cars in such a short time
Shmee, the speed racer
Really like the wheel design!
Saw one of them a few weeks ago in my hometown, competing in the Gran Premio Nuvolari, and driven by UFI Filters boss and owner! I couldn't believe my eyes...
This looks great
It'll be interesting to see if Adrian Newey somehow gets involved in the road car side of things.
Built-in shades in the helmet are so cool.
You are very blessed good sir Tim!
Shmee you're one lucky guy !! (Not luck actually but work) 👌🏻
An amazing car
I got the feeling I saw this video before😂😉. Maby it time for more aston in the garage Tim. DBR22 is i think a good success off the v12 speedster. Saw 2 in the Netherlands
Brilliant video, I would be worried about a camera mount falling off 😮.
I'm always worried about that with cameras outside
That with a normal windshield would be absolutely insane looking
Shmee150 Absolutely Review I think it's absolutey incredible that you got to Drive that Absolutely Gorgeous Aston Martin DBR22 especially knowing that they're so rare and I can't wait to see what you'll review next
Sweet!
Masterpiece
Definitely haven’t seen this video before 😅
Huh where????
Totaly never seen before
Lucky you 😂
Good video 👍👍👍
My favorite brand
Beautiful car Aston Martin
great looking Aston! Hope more Astons are gonna look like this rather than the newly introduced Vanquish!
Hi Shmee when do you think you will be able to test drive the W1 and F80?
I suspect we are a year or two away from either of them
🎉
If accessing the engine takes 4 hours I sure hope it has a fire suppression system under the front facia. If not you better have one in the cabin. Definitely art for sure, but not usable.
Ya know what ??? A manual geared one would be bonkers, and I think I'd have a blast tbh 🤔

So far, this is the only barchetta that comes close to looking as good as the Ferrari Monza. I am surprised we haven't seen more if it online. This and the Lamborghini Sian seem very underrepresented.
I found it spectacular
So what happens when it rains 🌧... beautiful car
Errrrr ya get wet or don’t go out in it when it rains simples 😂😂
This is how the V12 Speedster should have looked!
Beautiful
Looks very good
❤❤🎉🎉 fun driving a headless car
I drove that route in Germany last year where you drove Tim
🔥🔥🔥
Shmee/ Tim I know your into your Ferrari's but I think it's time you add a new Aston to the Shmee collection if you can. I would love to see how you spec it.
I'm not a fan of manual cars, but that one on manual.............🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
soooo good looking😍
Give me a 60’s style car like the DBR22 anyday!
Perfect 150🎉
Wow!
Seeing it next to the Valkyrie makes you realise how small that car is!
Shmee - Bubbles Edition with the helmet and maybe some thick glasses haha
Obviously a video from the summer, but still cool. BTW have you seen the 2 reviews on the Purosangue by Chris Harris and the other by Hammond? I would suggest Chris’ was very unbiased and fair while Hammonds’ was an unfair rant about how he doesn’t like Ferrari full stop . Interesting to hear other people’s opinions.
Wow wow wow what do we have here Tim.
Hi shmee! I do hope you make a video someday about the process of buying a limited edition supercar
Do you have your own insurance for these drives or are you covered by the owners insurance?
I've seen some automotive youtubers talking about it before like Doug Demuro and I think it's an interesting subject.
Lucky you!
It is exactly as beautiful as it is pointless.
Well that was a cool sportscar.
I've been thinking about "MACH 1000000" for longer than I care to admit... 🤔🤓
Yo I've never seen this car before when was it released???
Discussed in the video
please tell me where to find this kind of weather in germany in december 🙈
Looks like Mike Hawthorn with that helmet on!
There is a gunmetal Aston Martin Valkyrie in the Aston Martin garage in Solihull
15:03 and that’s why Ferrari created sp1 monza
I feel like Aston Martin is doing everything Mercedes does
First AMG ONE, then Valkyrie
Now Mercedes-AMG Pure Speed, then DBR22
