Now that's a proper video from an experienced long distance walking/backpacking guy without all the bs Americanism like "embrace the stink" "pack your fears" etc - a good watch, mate👍🍺😎
Most hikers are solo hikers so,I like reading the random thoughts and emotions of other hikers, when doing a hike. Short or long hikes books are all good.
Thanks for that excellent kit review. Your umbrella adaptation amused me, tho I bet you didn't take it on the PW 😂😂. I did the PW in May, North to South so we possibly passed each other somewhere 😄. The main problem I had was the grip on my Scarpa boots on the wet flagstones , particularly in the Cheviots. My walk could have ended on day 1 if I'd slipped & fallen. You mentioned how good the grip was on your boots, how did they fair on the wet flags. I loved your PW videos as well 👍
@@seannorcliffe2849 Haha, no, not on the PW, too windy for rain use too. I used the Quest Prime for PW, not quite as grippy as X Ultra 4, but did well. Just one really slippy slopey section of flags at Gt Dun Fell in the rain. Thanks for your comment.
@@farmerspud1270 Good, thanks. The last one was South to the Sea, my hike on the GR5 etc across the Alps. I may write one about the GR11 Pyrenees hike. I was thinking of doing one taking in a number of shorter hikes in the UK. Do you think that could be of interest?
Thanks for contributing to the learning experience. Am I safe to assume that you cut your Tyvek footprint rectangular as opposed to the Durston X-Mid offset design? How do you find it works? Any regrets?
Great ideas! Thanks for sharing.
Great tips and great vlog thankyou

@@anisab9506 Yes, I prefer to have a 'floor' in the vestibule area for gear and putting boots on and it works for me.
@ Super, thank you. The Durston X-Mid is such an amazing tent, couldn’t agree more :)

Haha, I think maybe I’d pack some warmer stuff too! Thanks!
