Have you heard of there being writing on the shroud. Greek, Latin and aramaic writing? I seen the vatican channel report on it but not seeing much scholars work for it.
One day technology will be much more advanced and reveal a lot more from the shroud, like the precise dates without harming the materials. The Shroud will play a big part in Christian archeological/historical/theological understanding.
This is the thing about the Shroud that I don't get. Why skeptics are so hung up on the carbon testing, but then abandon any attempt to explain away all the other factors that point to its true origins.
I read years ago that there are wine stains on the shroud and two hypothesis were made about it. One is that the shroud was actually the table cloth used at the last supper and grabbed in a rush to wrap Jesus for burial. There wasn't really enough time to get anything else. The other was that he early Christians used the shroud as the altar cover for mass in believers homes and hiding places. It was then hidden in the wall around Jerusalem when the city was being invaded and found there many years later.
Just one of many recorded shrouds that the church displayed as devotional objects along with John the Baptist skulls, nails from the cross, crowns of thorns and even jesus foreskin. There's money in religion as long as people never question.
What I find intriguing about Christians (applies a lot to Muslims too), is their relationship with science: eager to embrace it when it seems to confirm their beliefs, not so much when it doesn't. Like cafeteria Christianity, call this one "selective science".
I love the Shroud of Turin even though it is a forgery of the middle ages. Those stripes depicted are our salvation. This is our atonement on a rag. The Shroud is an art piece showing the man who suffered to bring us life. The Messiah Jesus Christ
@@UnremarkableMarx I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it as a forgery. As a skeptic I believe it's certainly possible, and yes, there is some evidence for it, but there is also convincing evidence to the contrary. If it is a forgery, how did they do it, what paint did they use? Why can't we find brush strokes that would be evident in a painting upon close inspection? I don't fall either way because I don't think we really have the evidence to know.

Its genuine as Jesus has told mystics !
Thanks so much for this. Even before I was Catholic I believed the Shroud to be authentic.
I love when you say. "Dings". Special greetings from Germany!
Legendary episode

What puzzles me is the difference in the image of the shroud to the image of Jesus in Revelation ?

Only the dumbest people on Earth are those today that will call the Shroud of Turin a fake. I sure do feel sorry for them.
My/your faith should not stand and fall on something like this
Agreed
If you watch the whole video, they come across that point.

That certainly doesn’t apply to the Catholic Church

What are you referring to? What science do Catholics reject?
