      We have already asked about this and individual pads and cymbals. The word is not right away individual component sales. Possibly 3+ months for that. We will keep everyone updated on this.

      @@BurningHearts70 SD3 is better, but if you want a vst in a box and not have to worry about a computer, audio interface, midi cables, etc. then look into the strata or mimic.

    I would wait until they fix all the issues people are finding early on with this set. I would wait 6 months to a year and then reteview the kit to see if now it is with software updates and fixes worth buying. It would be nice if they would sell the module separately, but with the newly redesigned pads and trigger system, no other brand pads will probably work with the module, at least not well. The color touch screen idea was stolen from the Efnote Pro. module. Even though Alesis stepped up their game with this kit, I still think for the money, there are better e-kits out there. I will be very curious to see the next kit or even the one after before considering an Alesis e-kit. Most Alesis kits are geared toward the beginning drummer and not really built for advanced drummers. The Alesis Strike Pro Se and the Alesis Strata Prime are in the right direction for a more advanced/professional drummer, but I do not think they are there yet.

    Does this new offering from Alesis sit in the same class as pearl mimic? Does it surpass the mimic?

    • @Edrumcenter
      @Edrumcenter  5 месяцев назад +1

      The Mimic Pro still has more inputs, more outputs, multilayer sample import, works with more pad types, is available, etc. The new Alesis module does has USB which is nice and will eventually have Bluetooth which the Mimic Pro does not. Many people have been asking about just buying the Strata Prime module which Alesis has no concrete plans to do. We think they should but it'll be awhile is the word we are getting. If they do it at all.

  • @andreoproprio

    This module is a Mimic Pro killer! If Alesis can convince the market that its pads are high quality enough it will be a new step up in quality vs price for the e-drum market.
    We all know what we want at this point, and technology is already advanced enough, but manufacturers are just too shy of killing their old technology, they just want to milk the consumer a little more. Glad Alesis took a more aggressive bet.
    A module with VST-quality (doesn't matter if it has THAT much of editing possibility, we just want the quality, the layers, the sound variation of a VST);
    Bigger pads (most people, but not all) + no hotspotting;
    360 cymbals;

    How were the load times when changing kits? The Strike module was very slow.

    • @Edrumcenter
      @Edrumcenter  5 месяцев назад

      Not instantaneous but also not painfully slow. A few seconds. We think some kits are larger file sizes than others so the time might vary slightly per kit.

    This was the most negative review I've listened to - perhaps because it was early or because it was reviewed before having much experience with it. Most of the reviews I've listened to were extremely enthusiastic, and the module comes with ways to easily fix or adjust most of the problems that were pointed out.

    It would have been nice to have more playing and less talking. And if you're going to talk about your "cons" maybe show some examples of the issues you ran into. I heard you comment that the module was not easy to navigate, yet every other review on RUclips said you didn't even need to read the manual to work this thing.

    • @Edrumcenter
      @Edrumcenter  5 месяцев назад

      Feedback noted. That was Aubrey who thought it was hard to navigate. The rest of us didn't think the same that's why we have four people give opinions. None of us opened the manual and were able to get pretty much anything done that needed to be done. A home button or a back button would be nice though. We have a full playing video coming. Maybe you didn't watch the whole thing as we mention all of this in the video.

    this "first impressions" comes across as forced ...like you really would rather not have made this video.

    • @Edrumcenter
      @Edrumcenter  5 месяцев назад +4

      Good question thanks for asking! Alesis called us and wanted us to sell their stuff. We deliberated and actually thought about it quite a lot because Alesis has had quality issues in the past and we were, to be quite honest, not that happy with their past product offerings. They reassured us that they had improved and that this new product was much better than previous kits. Which we all agree that it is. They also said that they have improved the customer service experience. In other words they said all the right things to reassure us to start selling their gear again. Another reason we gave it a chance is Justin from 65 drums had played the kit and said it was worth looking at. We trust his opinion so that helped a lot as well. As to the forced sound in the video it was rushed for sure. We had to get it shot, recorded, and edited in less than a week. Would have liked to have had longer but we literally became an Alesis dealer in early March and got our shipment in on 3-12.
