    Some back story: I used to own a Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti and an EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SC; they were both single-fan. The Gigabyte card had 0dB mode but the EVGA card didn't. So I tried flashing many VBIOS to the EVGA card to see if I could stop the fan. There was one BIOS that made the fan completely silent during idle, but when the temperature rose, the fan got stuck in spinning at 100% until I shut down the PC.
    As mentioned in the last video, I flashed some BIOS from different cards to this mini RTX 3060 Ti but none worked. I thought that MSI was similar to EVGA which they locked the fan speed via the BIOS, so I grabbed this cable in order to control the fan with my motherboard. However, MSI did a big brain move by using a fan with a minimum speed of 1200 RPM. This is why the video is a complete failure :))

      Thanks for the video, I appreciate all the useful testing you've done with this card. Have you thought about doing a Noctua Fan Swap Mod to it?

    Have you considered zip tying noctua fans directly to the heatsink and ditching the stock fan? You might get way better temps with less noise.
    To be able to really tell if there was improvement you might want to temporarily remove your undervolt when comparing stock to new fans. 73 Degrees is a really good result but its just not hot enough to reveal once the heatsink is bottlenecked/saturated

    You should try phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer, performs works better than traditional pastes and there is no pump-out effect. For the power section (vrm) and vrams, I advise you to apply thermal putty Upsiren UX Pro.
    It is also a good idea to do undervolting.

    I love itx form factor (motherboard & GPU) and I also love to watercool GPU & motherboard, sadly, currently no available Waterblock for msi RTX 3060 Ti aero itx, this GPU is very good to be paired with any itx board ❤️❤️

    I just wish these cards were available in the US. Best case, I'm importing one for $1000 and that is not acceptable when I already have a gigabyte 2070 itx card. $500 sure. Not $1000. But these cards are the only ones that will fit in my PC so I'll just have to hope next gen there are finally some good dual slot itx cards available.

    Terrific video Poker FaZe 🥰👍🥳! I always love your content. As a multiple Mini-ITX pc owner and builder, I love these ITX single-fan GPUs and appreciate the engineering and design that goes into them. I current have an ITX RTX3060 from PNY and it remains fairly quiet even under load and only gets between 65-75c under intense gaming loads which is quite impressive to see for such a compact design. Keep up the great work 🥰🥳👍🤩

    I've tried them all on my i7 4790 Dell Optiplex 9020MT and 650 watt PSU with 32gb HyperX Ram at 1080P resolution on 60hz. monitor I own. Originally came used with a GTX 750 Ti, then I upgraded to GTX 1050 Ti, then 2 years later a GTX 1650 Super, now a year later...after much research figuring the max performance on this Dell could be with using a GTX 1070 so I just ordered the MSI Aero ITX GTX 1070 8Gb GDDR5 single fan but premium cooling and quality reviews.

    Would love a 3060ti in ITX form factor. However they are impossible to get. A decent 3060ti costs £500-£600 in the UK whereas the aero model costs £800 and only comes from Japan with a 1.5 month lead time. £800 is more expensive than a 3070ti

      If you can find a good 1.75 thermalpad, you should get it, compressing manually is not very consistent.

  • @phantompanda1508
    @phantompanda1508 2 года назад

    Sir the extra thermal pads you placed was on (inductors) which wont get that hot and are not really important to cool.... You shouldve placed them on the 4 tiny chips behind the inductors which are called memory vrm(its a 2 phase memory vrm)... Please next time you disassemble it, put some thermal pads on the aforementioned chips

    What about thin copper shims on the memory itself? I seen a vid not too long ago about a 3080 getting it. Dropped the memory temps by a decent margin. Also- I will say, MSI did a far better job with this card than EVGA did with the 2060. Mine is the same form factor in length and height. But, takes up a third slot. And upon looking at it's cooling solution. I found it had only 3 heatpipes. Which were far shorter than those found in this card.

    • @Al-USMC-RET
      @Al-USMC-RET 2 года назад

      Why do people keep recommending liquid metal? At best, that will temporarily give you good cooling assuming everything goes perfectly. But it's very risky. Kryonaut Extreme will get you within 1-3 degrees of LM but will keep its performance and never have to be replaced for the life of the card because it is non-curing. Best option by far.
