If you listen carefully to Gertrude dialogue, she is somehow reciting a multiple past conversations from memory with some of the family members and then she moves to saying the number sequences, when she feels threatened she mentions the last unique sequence which it’s not part of the loop and with a strange tone like « a last wish » or « a last hope » or « remember my last words », my theory which I was working on for some time is those numbers are words or sentences not a direct numbering of letters but some kind of references like page number / line number / word number, and the last sequence is to decipher the main one like multiplying or addition or subtraction, now in which book they are quoted from !! My first idea was the book jane eyre by charlotte bronte, you can find Penelope Braithwaite reading it in the course of true love 1 mission, Gertrude must found it and read it and developed a code or a hidden message between her and Penelope maybe incase of emergency or as a way of encrypted communication or a « secret », I didn’t continue the hunt as I was busy but you can take it from here if you want or maybe develop your own ideas on the matter and forget strange man explanation.

That hypothsis is wrong. For someone who is able to count to five before getting mixed up she mixes up the first 5 way too much. In the same way she also knows the sequence from 7-8-9 but also mixes that up with others almost as if she doesnt really know but that it was a fluke. So either she jus saying random numbers n makes those sequences by chance or she is actually reciting a sequence known to her. She, in no way, can b attempting to count in order since she breaks the orders she supposedly gets correct. U never hear a kid learn to 5 n then say 4-5 in between 11-12 nd 15. They shud know where numbers 1-5 go. This is incorrect. Gotta b something else unless Rockstar got it wrong.
Plus she got the intellect to remember events talk bout them while recalling them n engage with u wen she detects u yet she cant memorise the first 5 digits?? Trust me rockstar wuda done more research than to mix that up. She knows to count. Shes reciting something but maybe getting THAT sequence wrong sometimes. Theres a sequence within that string that means something atleast to her

I kinda think this whole thing has to do with a trickster. We all play the fool, even literally, just throwing that out there. :) just blew my mind when I realized, considering everything. Anyway..
The whole game is based on good and evil.. redemption. This, this is just the super dark path that dives into it, so to speak. Idk man. It’s a historically accurate game inspired by reality. You can look anything up and read about it. The similarities between reality and this game is mind boggling. It’s a masterpiece.
