I have both. Elements is a more formal book, goes into more detailed and has a higher profile than the Introduction. Introduction has 2 editions, one in Python and one in R. Introduction covers more or less the same material but has slightly less formal language and is shorter. It does contain interesting examples and exercises/labs in either R or Python.
What do you think of Python Deep Learning by Ivan Vasilev ?
interesting, i haven't read his book, thanks for the comment, i'll check it out!
is the book "Elements of Statistical Learning"(Esl) similar to the book "Introduction to statistical learning"(isl)? they have many common authors.
I believe ISL has labs and comes in two flavors: with applications in python and with applications in R
