Autism means you're not going to just pick up on social norms like everyone else. Luckily I had a good enough environment to know the objective reasons not to talk inappropriately to kids, but who knows what would have happened if I hadn't. Even still I am constantly being punished and blamed for not understanding some social thing, and I'm expected to function normally even though I am literally incapable of doing so. I have high functioning autism and had a decent upbringing, and even I only understand on the basis of critical reasoning, it doesn't come naturally to me like it seems to for everyone else. Hey, not to be a nit picker, but I think you should know that Borderline personality disorder (bpd) (which is what Jack has) and DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) (which is what you confused him for having, I assume) are two completely different things. I suffer from BPD, and I know someone who has DID. Borderline personality disorder pretty much makes things black and white. So as an example, you either view someone as the worst person in the world, or the best, and there’s pretty much no in between. Whenever your perception of someone switches, it’s called “switching” which is also what Synni is referring to. Telling Jack that she hopes it’s just his BPD “acting up” and “switching on her” is not only rude, manipulative and downplaying what she did, but also pretty ableist. DID is a disorder that develops due to severe trauma. People also call it “Multiple personality disorder” but DID is the proper term, it’s pretty much what it sounds like though, you have multiple “personalities” or “personas” that “front” (which is a term I heard my friend use, it’s basically just when another personality comes out) whenever you get triggered. (If I got any information wrong, feel free to correct me!) Again, not to be a nitpicker, I genuinely hope this didn’t upset you, have a nice day!

Autism means you're not going to just pick up on social norms like everyone else. Luckily I had a good enough environment to know the objective reasons not to talk inappropriately to kids, but who knows what would have happened if I hadn't. Even still I am constantly being punished and blamed for not understanding some social thing, and I'm expected to function normally even though I am literally incapable of doing so. And over time it leads to self-hatred and suicidal thoughts.

Hey, not to be a nit picker, but I think you should know that Borderline personality disorder (bpd) (which is what Jack has) and DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) (which is what you confused him for having, I assume) are two completely different things.
I suffer from BPD, and I know someone who has DID. Borderline personality disorder pretty much makes things black and white. So as an example, you either view someone as the worst person in the world, or the best, and there’s pretty much no in between. Whenever your perception of someone switches, it’s called “switching” which is also what Synni is referring to. Telling Jack that she hopes it’s just his BPD “acting up” and “switching on her” is not only rude, manipulative and downplaying what she did, but also pretty ableist.
DID is a disorder that develops due to severe trauma. People also call it “Multiple personality disorder” but DID is the proper term, it’s pretty much what it sounds like though, you have multiple “personalities” or “personas” that “front” (which is a term I heard my friend use, it’s basically just when another personality comes out) whenever you get triggered.

He ended up committing suicide in 2014 because of depression which was a big shock through the community at the time since he was so well liked by alot of people so much that there were tributes made to pay respects.

But you're essentially saying that people can become guilty of something through sheer bad luck. That really isn't fair and you don't realize how easily it could happen to you as well. Part of the problem is the Calvinist predestinarian mindset, we assume bad things generally don't happen to good people, and that everyone's character is set in stone from the beginning. This causes us to blame people for having bad luck, for having disabilities, for being poor, unhappy, unhealthy, etc. And then we look up at Heaven and say, "God I thank you because you didn't make me like them."

Is that person really bad for getting in an unfortunate situation, or does it just bring us emotional satisfaction to get revenge for what happened?
