Japan won both question rounds, but it looks like the judges crowned the winner who was the strongest overall throughout the evening.
Marìa Celeste Arraras and Amelia Vega were responsible for the results. Even then, the scores between Zuleyka and Kurara were really close.

I hate it when the hosts remove the microphone so early. I can see Miss Paraguay wanted to tell something more, but she couldn't due to the host. Same with Puerto Rico. He just removed the microphone.
They afraid the translator losing the point of what they said so they need to make her stop talking for a moment and if they say it, might sound awkward so they just do that.
The host is from Puerto Rico, he understood the answers and knew that they were done answering.
Paraguay should have learnt from Japan, grab the microphone and said "Can I say something?" 🤣
Puerto Rico was stunning, but I prefer Paraguay and Japan as the final 2 standing as well.

The interpreter fumbled on Miss Paraguay's answer. She said the greatest value she would inculcate in her children is "respect" - not "love" - which are two very different things. She said that respecting each other resulted in equality.
But its not his fault...as soon as she speaks, she keeps on going and going and going.....she should give some break for the interpreter to grasp...That is why knowing English gives an edge..no matter what you say it

You know what i'm goin to say that I'm glad Japan didn't win the crown bcoz u see she was so happy by just being there and she was the best among all and the most important thing is that she conquered hearts of millions of fans thats worth more than a crown....
Plus i believe the winner wasn't justified bcoz comparing to zuleyka you cld see kurara's real personality on stage rather than zuleyka's fake smile which she plastered on her face...

If you said like that then you're a new comer in pageant world. Trump era doesn't care about the answer. It cares a lot about the appearance, face and how they walk. Zuleyka has everything to be the winner at the time with her phenomenal gown.

@@FernandoGarcia-nz9el Riyo deserved it. If you look at the Top 5 in 2007, Japan and USA had the amazing answers but USA's 4th runner up has been sealed due to poor performance in the evening gown. Brazil, tbh, can easily be forgotten. Riyo from Japan is simply iconic with her styling and the conviction she brought while answering. Japan, without a doubt, is Miss Universe 2007.

Japan should have won with that final answer. She was also likeable. Switzerland also gave a simple but sincere answer. How Zuleyka pulled off a victory was a total surprise! But her gown was really unforgettable.
I suppose she suffered with vague translation which in turned cost her the victory. I must resigned though Switzerland's response was sincere and honest, the judges must have felt it's a bit cliche and predictable, if you take into account the previous rounds, Zuleyka undoubtedly dominated both Swimsuit and even more so Evening gown competitions, it was a really close competition, only Puerto Rico and Switzerland and Mexico were initially regarded as locks by more or less all pageant experts (but we all know her Mexico's hair in the final blew her chances).

I think all answered quite right. No wrong answers here. As a matter of fact, Miss USA was quite spectacular. But to me, it was Japan’s way of answering that makes me smile and happy. And Carson was right..my eyes were hooked on Puerto Rico’s dress and her beautiful face

USA's answer was authentic and came from heart. She nailed the Question and Answer. But, her evening gown is not crown worthy. For the past years delegates from USA has always have the wrong choice of evening gowns. I hope they will invest more on evening gowns. I think, they should try designers from Philippines.
I know right. Except Olivia Jordan's Miss Universe 2015 gown, all of the usa's contestants evening gowns werent good.
