Después de esta edición Trump y Shugart cambiaron la forma de elegir a las semifinalistas por que sumando a las de USA, Trinidad y Tobago y Jamaica eran un total de 10 americanas y ante el reclamo de los demás países la Org. Miss Universo empieza a elegir a 6 de las 15 y el jurado a las 9 restantes.

I miss the way they announced the Top 15 back then. It was way more exciting and fun with great background music. Nowadays it’s boring, predictable and it takes like an hour just to find out who made the Top 15. 🤦♂️
Sure, the Endeavor/IMG era is using the five-five-five-five format to give Europe a chance, but you're still going to have the Latinas and Africa and Asia-Pacific gobble up the most Top 20 semifinal slots including the Wild Card.

And it was a straight call format in the 2015 and 2016.

Las ediciones 2003, 2004, 2005 y 2007 dejan atrás cualquier edición.
En 2008 y 2009 los escenarios pecaron de ser muy pequeños, pero bonitos.
En 2010 fue regular como en 2012.
Los peores escenarios fueron 2006, 2011 y 2014.

Esas ediciones de Miss Universo si eran emocionantes, te cautivaban, te enloquecían, escenarios perfectos, sedes maravillosas, paisajes exóticos, mujeres realmente bellas y competitivas, era un verdadero show por algo era considerado el mejor certamen internacional, ahora el MU se a vuelto aburrido, deplorable, repetitivo, las sedes solo son en USA, las ganadoras dejan mucho que desear. Espero algún dia regresen a esa grandeza que tuvieron algún día
La sede solo es el escenario aburrido....antes mostraban los encantos del país sede ...solo hay que ver la diferencia de Tailandia 2005 y 2018 ....ya el miss universo está en decadencia total

Puerto Rico, a woman that when she won her national competition was bullied because she was black... lots of Puerto Ricans in the media criticizing her, discouraging her and saying she will not make it very far or make it at all. Shame! That beautiful goddess pushed through and was top 3. 👏Point 👏blank 👏period.

Nelsonhmhpub Puerto Rico isn’t white either. There’s a race mixture in Puerto Rico obviously. I’m saying she was bullied by the local media because of the racism still prominent in the island. And I’m just explaining my frustration as to why they always let our black woman get far in the competition, however, we haven’t had a black queen represent the island regardless of their preparation and regardless if they kill the final question. It happened this past edition where Madison got crowned.

Como dato curioso, Miss Ucrania fue invitada por Donald Trump al año siguiente a Miss Universo 2005 como jueza, debido a que él deseaba verla en el TOP y no pudo. A partir de ese año, Trump comenzó a escoger a 8 candidatas a dedo, para meterlas al cuadro de finalistas.
