I just got one of these, it's a great teleprompter, nice build quality. Good tip on that Ulanzi ipad mount. I ended up using the controller from the Padcaster that I am throwing out.
Picked this up about a year ago for a documentary shoot and have been using it as an interrotron. Such a lightweight solution versus the larger systems like the prompter people solutions although those have a very specific use case. The only thing I noticed is that it seems as though the beamsplitting glass causes a very slight dip in image contrast. I'd say they are cutting some corners on glass quality. Overall a pretty useful product for fast straight to camera interviews.
“Cutting corners on glass quality” Yeah not surprised on that at all. I think any prompter in this price range is guilty of the same. This was on sale for $125, and for that price hard to fault it. But if I had paid like $500 my tone would have been very different
Thanks. I don’t fancy myself a reviewer exactly. Just sharing thoughts and opinions and will many times gloss over topics that don’t apply to the current conversation or just are relevant to my workflow. But if the info I share is relevant to anyone out there, then you’re welcome ;)

I use an app on the iPad for the text and can control it with a BT keyboard. It's worked out quite nicely

I like how they mixed it with a mattebox
So do I. I already have two matte boxes from them and that was a big selling point for me
Great review!
