@@cecilebadenhorst4997 Basically this is intellectual theft. The least severe penalty for plagiarism is a re-work of the assignment, failure of the assignment or even the failure of the whole class. The most severe penalty can be a lawsuit or even worse - imprisonment!

Why are there severe penalties for plagiarism, and why is it ethically wrong to do?
If you use someone else's writing and claim it as your own - that's plagiarism. It's ethically wrong because it is not yours to claim.
