I start my new job tomorrow at Hardwood resources and I will be measuring a lot of wood to cut. You helped me out a lot. You gave me a lot more confidence heading there tomorrow. Thank you sir.
Milton, thanks for the post. I love getting comments like this, lets me know the channel is having an impact on others lives. Thank you! If you're new to cutting the best advice I could give you is that you're never to busy to know where your hands and body parts are. Every time you pull the trigger/switch do a quick check on where the blade is and where the parts you want to keep are. I did this video a couple years back and you might find it helpful as well ruclips.net/video/l3J0AzDRwDM/видео.html Hope you have a great first day tomorrow!
Thank you for making this video. I have been so frustrated for the last two days cutting wood and it being just the slightest bit off. This helps a lot.
Take you soooooo much! I'm not a professional, I'm just in the need of help but have no one to help! So, everything I make, repair or put together is lopsided but it won't crumble or fall!
+mammothfilms I'm glad you found it helpful, I've got a few other videos up that may help you. Just browse through and you'll see what I'm talking about. The saw horse video would probably be a good one for you. Take care and thanks for the post/feedback
I practice with saw, it's always depending on the distance from the line and the angle, because you can't cut wood while having your hand in the angle of 5°-2° with the saw
Thank you Billy. What is the exact name of that cutting tool you are using in the video? Handy saw? I have used a jigsaw to make wood cutting, but the quality of the cut depends on my pulse...so I was wondering about a tool that makes long cuts quickly. Very nice video. Congratulations!
+GobioMan Gobio, thank you for the kind comments/feedback. For long cuts you want to use a circular saw, the one in the video is a small battery style (Craftsman Bolt On). You can pick up a decent saw (standard size is 7 1/4 inch blade) for fairly cheap, the trick is to get a good blade. Something with carbide tips and the more teeth the smoother the cut. A jig saw is used for small or intricate cuts, curved cuts or maybe a small straight cut. For long cuts you want a circular saw. I have some other videos up on cutting and using sawhorses that you might find helpful as well. That style of saw is a circular saw, this one happens to be battery powered. If you are getting into DIY or doing work around your house this style saw is a good one to have. Lots of things you can do with one of these.
Take a look at these two videos, I think you will find both very helpful for a beginner.... ruclips.net/video/ayZcdL5tLQw/видео.html ruclips.net/video/l3J0AzDRwDM/видео.html
You need a steady hand. I can't keep them still hint clamp a straight edge to your work peice. And run shoe of the circular saw along straight edge. There's home made videos of this technique. I used this method for hand sawing as well
It's a 20 volt system, I have not seen them in any other volt size but that doesn't mean they have them now. I have avoided Sears and the Craftsman line for some time now. Personal preference. Some guys love em, some guys don't. I used to love them but I'm in the don't camp now.

How did ur job work out being it’s been 2 years?

Thanks for this. I've been consistently inconsistent on how I measured & follow-on cut. This will help. Scribe, then cut to the outside! Roger.
Good tip. I'm always trying to figure out where to place the blade, but this method is better: always do it the same way. You've sold me.
Cheers m8 great video, simple but very important.
Thanks, always my biggest problem, measuring correctly and cutting to that measurement.
Great tips. I am new to wood working and carpentry and it's the little tips like this that help me out tremendously.

Great video, love the info
Glad it was helpful!
i was wondering why i was comin up short ony cuts lol thanks
Thanks
It seems like I'm millimeters off every time....
gives you room to sand and finish if you're working on a nicer piece.
so always cut out of the line just like a half mm and with alittle bit sanding you are on the right lengeth
Sure as hell wish I would have learned this about 5 years ago. Would have saved me a lot of headaches
I love you. I’m a total retard at making cuts and you helped so much.
Thanks.
Med Man You're very welcome! Thanks for the view, hope I earned your subscription
Appreciated, from a newbie. 😁

What about just always marking the line just in front of your mark so when you cut you can just take off the black line and get your mark.
Anyone know where I can get some left-handed power tools?
Hi im really new to this, what kind of saw is that called?

what's the name of that tape measure??
It's a Harbor Freight tape. They give them away for free with a coupon from their flyer/ad. In store I think they cost around $6
+The Burb Billy (The Burbbilly) ok thx appreciated
