I make my almond milk by blending 1 tablespoon 100% almond butter with a couple cups of water . You get a nice creamy consistency . You can add Salt and sweetener if you like . Soooo good 😊 👍
We have been using store-bought almond milk for a long time and realize that homemade is much healthier. Main reason we buy is that homemade doesn't keep as long in the fridge, but I think now that it would still be worth it health-wise to make it ourselves. We do keep almonds in the freezer, so we do have the ingredients. Thanks for the reminder about watching the ingredients on everything! How long can you store the home-made almond milk in the fridge?
I love making my own almond milk. I sometimes make it with a combination of other nuts like Brazil and cashews. I love your idea about not straining it. I might just take that idea since it put it in smoothies and oatmeal. Perfect!
BRAZIL nuts contain Selenium - absolutely necessary to protect against Cancer. Look up the Danish Study on Selenium. It will knock your socks off ! The danish study was cut short bec the cancers of many people start shrinking. !? apparently 1 or 2 Brazil nuts contain enough selenium to act as protection.
Thank you so much for sharing this, sounds so simple to make! I’ve been drinking simply almond unsweetened for many years now. I hope it does not have bad effects from those extra ingredients but will try homemade now.
I have been making almond milk for about 40 years I used to strain it but like you Annette I thought why am I straining when I first saw almond milk in a container pre made I thought this could be good when in a hurry I ended up throwing it out it was plain horrible but I love my homemade almond milk
Why can’t they just make regular almond milk without all of those ingredients for a reasonable price? I just don’t get why they need to add all those unnecessary ingredients, to all foods and drinks, it makes no sense. 😩
It’s multifaceted. They want you to be sick, so they put emulsifiers and other nonsense in to plug you in to their “healthcare” system. Like the other user said, it’s also cheaper to use man-made chemicals than natural ingredients. We must begin to advocate for ourselves because health is wealth and we all deserve to be healthy.
Lecithin prevents the ingredients from separating when you refrigerate it. If you don't add lecithin, some ingredients will float on top and the others will drop to the bottom. That's icky!! I use sunflower lecithin when I make almond milk.
What is your take on oaths phytic acid content? - I like oats very much, but many seeds, grains, nuts, etc have protective natural chemicals that prevent potential eaters to use their nutrients before they germinate. Lots of good ingredients but with lectins and phytate that in theory prevent their best nutrient absorption (this might be the key to understand why so many vegan people that eat properly have serious health issues: bad absorption of nutrients in the gut for many reasons, but the above one is a challenging one.
I would like to know how you know when it goes bad. I made some 2 days ago and I see that it got thicker and has a slight smell to it. I have been making almond mild for a few months and that has never happened. I have no idea what is going on. When I let it soak I did not put in the fridge. I left it out in the bowl over night.
Thank you. A timely message since I often find myself in front of the refrigerator case looking at ingredient labels trying to make heads or tails of it...I NEVER trust a label that says 'natural flavoring' - otherwise they would just list it *Do we want raw almonds (since they are now being irradiated) to make our almond milk?
💐🌷🌷Thank You Very very for the Information 👍👍👍👍🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 .and I have a Question Please🙏🏼, which one coconut milk the good one, because I really want buy coconut milk , but I don’t know Which one, please let me know ,Thank you so much again🙏🏼
Where I live almonds are not very affordable and with 3 children it is very hard to make your own almond milk. I make it but it doesn't last many days and it gets costy to make it. Any suggestions to how it can be made more affordable?
The 3Trees organic almond milk you don't recommend either, with only almonds and water? I bought a Soyabella soymilk maker and coffee grinder a number of years ago. I don't do anything soy but it works great for making almond milk and many other things. You can make soup in it. Grind coffee beans, etc. This has motivated me to get it out again and start using it. At one time I found an almond pulp bread recipe that I made and liked. I'll have to search that out again. I Enjoy your videos!
Be careful with soy; I was taking supplements for a year to combat menopause and ended up with endometrial cancer. I am not saying it was directly caused by the soy supplement but it probably didn’t help.jmo
In order to make it yourself, you're gonna need a Vitamix which is expensive and some cheese cloth, which is a pain in the butt. I stopped drinking almond milk and started drinking grass-fed, organic whole cow's milk. It is delicious and very healthy. But, I understand if you are lactose intolerant or a vegan.
Thank you Annette! I am trying to figure out which coffee creamer to buy. I hate all those additives. It tastes good and creamy but it’s better at that point to just use regular milk creamer.
Almond milk can have 50% and much more absorbable net gain calcium than cow's milk. The protein in cow's milk requires use of its calcium to process it through the body, leaving very little left over or nothing at all for calcium intake for the blood and bones. One can actually get a net loss of calcium from drinking cow's milk depending on the digestive and metabolic health of the individual and the type of cow's milk being ingested.
Hi Annette. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe. I just have a question though. So is it 1 cup of almonds and 3 cups of water or 1.5 cups of almonds and 4 cups of water as you stated in a video that you made over 3 years ago?
Almond skins have high amounts of phytic acid in it so need to blanch them first. That's why I am trying to find somebody who can tell me if the factory made ones soak and blanch (remove skins) their almonds first. Phytic acid binds to important minerals and can affect mineral absorption in the small intestine. I have been drinking almond milk for quite a few years now and now I am realizing I need to probably stop because I found out about the high phytates in the skins and I doubt the factories blanch them before making almond milk.
Hey Annette I'm just letting you know studies are starting to come out about stevia and infertility. It causes decreased testosterone in men. Now I'm not sure if that's the garage powder s"tevia" or the herb extract. And I've heard it had causes infertility in women too. Which I honestly can believe since eim struggling with that since cutting Splenda and switching to stevia. But I just wanted to mention this just in case you want to look into it !
Thanks for the notice. There is very little real stevia in most sweeteners sold on the market so I will dive into the research. Many times it is a theory and not a true cause/effect symptom. TY
That answer varies. If you mean price it is higher than the poor quality and much less than the expensive ones. If you are referring to protein count I am not sure. Yet I use the almond milk I make without straining so I would get a higher protein count.

I agree!
Because by adding more chemical stuff, they can put less almonds - it is thus cheaper for them.
@@boyardstreet8357 Right and costly for us health-wise. I stopped drinking it all together.

I found for me the biggest danger was the calcium carbonate they add to it! This lowers your needed stomach acid to digest your food.
You really do a good job

They’re irradiating ALL our food!!!🤨🤔🤨🤬🙄
Almond are extremely expensive and hard to find consistent where i live. I started to make almond milk but I couldn’t afford it on the long run.
Those were 7.00 is that bag organic almonds? I doubt it. So what's the point of making it, if it's not organic.

I do recommend three trees sorry I was not clear

I make my own
Good choice!
