I’m just gonna say at this point Texas just doesn’t give a hoot and wants to embrace it for the kicks, and everyone who’d be offended in Illinois doesn’t leave Chicagoland so they don’t know anything about it.
There’s a high school in Poca, West Virginia. Their mascot is the Mighty Dot. Yes, they have multiple football state championships. Imagine losing to the Poca Dots 😂
I laugh about Poca High school every time I pass Poca on 64 😂😂😂😂 Go Dots!
I actually know people who are Hoopeston Cornjerkers. It's a very real school. CornJerkers were the people who hand-picked corn before the combine was invented.
They must not of had the rights to use Cornhuskers?

FYI: South Dakota State University Homecoming is called “Hobo Days” they actually have a Bum Mobile that is driven by Bum King and Queen. It is a great celebration to be a part of.
There were two high schools in our area that combined together. One was the bull dogs and the other was the longhorns. They decided their combined mascot should be the horn dogs.
In Catawba County, North Carolina, there is the Maiden Blue Devils and Newton-Conover Red Devils, which is a rivalry game.
A highschool mine played in the state championship was once called the rebels, but were changed to the wolverines as they thought "rebel" was offensive. Same goes with one of our division rivals, once the black knights are now just... the "knights".

You guys missed one. Rhode Island School of Design's mascot is Scrotie. Yes. Scrotie the Scrotum is their mascot. Them playing the Butte Pirates would be so wrong.
