      reaperexpress I agree. At least let it do a Kingston sub tour once and a while. Makes no sense to spend the money to restore it to operating condition only for it to go back to doing what it did before the restoration. Just sitting there doing nothing.

    If the LRC and LRC coaches could speak, they'd probably be crying after being apart for over a decade. LRC coaches being pulled by the F40's and P42's just doesent look as good as a LRC pulling its proper coaches

    Nice to see one LRC engine preserved. I worked the American LRC train from Boston to New Haven, Ct and it was an interesting locomotive. The only thing I didn't like as an Engineer was the slow rate of acceleration whether from a dead stop or from idle to full throttle on the move. She had the power though I always wondered why Amtrak couldn't repower an F40PH with the ALCO power package as they were much quieter and used less fuel than an F40PH did or just build a new passenger locomotive with the 251F V-16 even though it's showing it's age now.

    I wish I could see these in Oshawa, all I ever see is F40's and P42's zooming trough oshawa with Renaissance carriages, and sometimes LRC cars, and once in a while, Blue VIA rail cars, like the kind used with the blue and yellow FP7s and FP9s VIA rail used.
    Another locomotive I wish I could see is the FPA-4

    • @tacoblend3246
      @tacoblend3246 8 лет назад

      +Matt Brine Here in the US, the F40's are nearly extinct, the budd coaches are gone and you guys are lucky up in canada since you don't scrap everything that doesn't work anymore. Some days I wish I could go to your country for railfanning.

    • @j_eldridge
      @j_eldridge 8 лет назад

      +Jagged bacon I agree. I am Canadian but I went on a cross country train trip from Portland to LA and I only saw the F40 once on the train from Portland to Boston. The P42 is basically the flagship locomotive for Amtrak. But you guys have electrified trains like the AEM and the ACS-64.

    • @tacoblend3246
      @tacoblend3246 8 лет назад

      That's true, but scrapping things like the AEM-7 are unceremonious and even though they're a big staple of amtrak's history, nothing was done to preserve them properly (I.E, left outside.)
