Brian, you brought a second tear to my eye today, and a smile too. My daughter got married today, and seeing your interaction stirred fond memories. Thanks for that. Your neko rig video with the bang stickz inspired me to try them, and resulted in my now son-in-law catching his biggest fish ever, a 5.3 lb Minnesota largemouth. God bless you and safe travels.
Great honest perspective bro. So many people in the younger generations want instant gratification, but to achieve something great takes time and effort. Way to stay real BLAT!
I've been fishing as far back in life that I can literally remember. I had 1 grandpa that was the best angler and hunter that I've known to this day! The other was a professional guide in Texas. So to say I was blessed wouldnt express my appreciation level for my raising. Of all the fishermen I've known.....elite to the weekend warrior...... I have picked up more valuable tips and knowledge from this guy alone by just watching his videos over the last 6 months! I know its cheesy and I usually dont comment at all.... but I felt almost obligated to give this guy credit and to say thank you B-Lat!
We saw you at Bass University in Anderson back in January. My son took almost a page of notes on your first session. He is completely hooked on tournament fishing and your talk pumped him up. He has the drive and I am doing all I can to help him. Thanks for being an inspiration for him and other young anglers.
A realistic video of the path to being a pro. Thanks for showing us the truth. And you have the greatest support system at home with the wife and family. Brev's dad is the man!
Brian...just want to thank you for all you do, brother. I’ve learned so much from watching your vids and my fishing game has greatly improved. You ROCK, brother!
I love how you handled the screaming in the background they always have to throw a fit when you're in the middle of something or want you to pick them up when you're hands are full
@@ohiooutdoors6 My kids seem to specifically wait until I speak on the phone or mic before they scream.. In other words, If you live streamin' the kids be screamin'.
Desire is all you need. You started late, BUT the industry changes so fast it's not that big of deal. You have to want it more than other people. That's it
15 years fine by me fishing my passion it's mu dream. Thanks for posting this . You have a good evening stay safe and good luck out there on the water bro
What you mentioned with MDJ is so true I had a great mentor in the Navy that said form your circle closely with successful people and it’s worked well for me now that I’ve made it to a Command Master Chief now. Good luck this year and great insight into what it takes to really make it. Hope to try when I retire if Roland, Larry and some of the other guys can still be competitive I can still have the dream! Thanks for the video and motivation
Well I'm 50, and just started bass fishing last summer. I am determined to have fun at this and fish different waters...and do some club tourneys. Guess we will see where it goes....gonna enjoy the journey. Thanks for the honesty, god bless ya....tight lines be safe.
Hey there B. Lat.... I had no idea you took 3rd place in the BassMaster Open on Lake Douglas! I have fished that lake in the past too..... It's the first lake where I learned about night-fishing for bass, before then, I had no idea that you could catch bass at night. I just happened across a bunch of local tournament boats launching one night when I went to hang out at the Douglas Lake dam. Apparently, they hold a lot of night tournaments there in the summer
C'mon B....i agree Pearson airport is huge and confusing but Canada's signs are bilingual. Hope you return in the summer months....youd love our lakes and rivers! Lastly, thanks for a real world chat on what it takes realistically to get to the big show. Your vids are on point!
Next time your in Atlanta reach out I have a nice little pond in Powder Springs a nice ole guy let me fish no body but me and there is some monsters in it. Every time I watch you and get a little game from you I head to my honey hole and it never fails👍🏾

Hey, B.Lat. Thank you for your great truthful insite on how long it takes to go Pro. I have decited to go Pro. Bank fishing! I challenge my self to try and beat myself on fish I caught last year. I think trying to beat yourself and improve in Bass fishing maybe the hardest thing to do. Pro fishing looks and sounds really hard. Ask KVD the G.O.A.T. Good luck in 2020! SHAWN
I felt the same way when Mark won. I felt like I won too. I am really really appreciative for the videos you put out! Thanks! I will be fishing the Lewisville Opens so I am hoping to get to meet you out there.
I'm going to say yes. Though I am 25 years old I still feel like I could make it. It make take 10 years 15 years maybe not but regardless I'm here to grind until I'm standing on the stage weighing at a classic. This is my first year jumping in as co angler with some local BFLs and I also fish a local electric tournament trail. Next year will probably fish a full season as co angler then hopefully the year after that fish as a boater for awhile and go from there
I want to start co angler so bad I'm going to maybe try after this year I'm like you in the end I'm long term and I don't know the meaning give up. Every time I'm nocked down I bounce back up sooner or later I'm going to do alittlebit of nocking down myself. I've had to work hard for everything I got witch might not be much but still. I expect no difference trying to go pro won't be a easy road at all only thing is I got the pastor it. Tournament fishing for USA bass saved my life 5 years ago I'm thankful every day
Dang dude, the first year I don't go to the show and you are there! Polatta is gonna get a piece of my mind. When he invited me to the show this year he should have mentioned that you'd be there!! Lol. Keep up with the great content and I'll be pulling hard for you this year.
It was great having to opportunity to talk to you and David Dudley at the Fishing and Boating Show this past weekend. I'm glad you were able to get sorted out in Toronto Pearson Airport. I fly throughout North America often enough to recognize that Pearson is a little backwards for sure. Especially terminal 3.
Hey Brian, always love your videos. It's obvious you are not just a successful angler but a successful man. Thanks for always sharing your insight and honest experiences. Good luck this year fishing, if you ever find yourself in the Northwoods of Wisconsin look me up and we will go jack up some smallies.
I would love to be a pro but don’t see it being possible at this point in time but I love the truth you put behind it! Love your videos hope you have a good year at the tournaments. Hopefully you will make it closer to Indianapolis one day I can come out and see a weigh in or chat fishing good luck b lat
I love this video! Thank you for the honesty I’m a co angler fishing BFL this is my 3 year of actually competition fishing. My goals is with in 5 years win one as a co angler or finish top 5. Then graduate to boater and same thing goal 2-4 ish years is win a BFL to graduate to costas or bass opens. Understand this is gonna take time
I'm a late bloomer in the bass fishing biz, although I still would like to go pro at some point. You're never to old to cast a line out and hopefully there will never be an age cut off...lol.
It takes hard work and dedication to be successful in any field, but that becomes effected by an uncontrollable variable in being a professional bass angler, you have to be able to catch fish on derby day to be successful, easier said than done. B I think the biggest reason is fishing is in your blood you have to absolutely love it. I don’t know of a better way to spend the day and I don’t care what the weather does come hell or high water bro I’m on the water. I was crushing smallmouth one windy crappy day on lake Arthur Pa, throwing a puppy, just a blast. I also think things happen in Gods time Brain we just have to do the best we can, treat everyone with dignity and respect. I’ve said it before, the people I’ve met in the FLW are the best people I’ve had the pleasure to meet. God Bless and peace Brian.
I’m 48 is that too long. I’ve always one day make it to the bigs. But I’m in Michigan and I don’t no how to doit. How would I start? And another thing who do I contact???

No-Pro. If I was single and no kids, Pro would be OK. I love Bass fishing, one day a week and if I get lucky two days a week and a week @ Smith Lake AL. Thanks for the video and God bless.
I saw the 5 string bass sittin' there. Didn't you mention once before you had been a musician? You ought to play us some bass someday. I think Brooks needs a Rat-L-Trap tied onto his kiddie pole.
