Well we need eggs so we take some and release the fish, some will love some will die. However if you throw them on the ice then they all die. We try our best to handle them properly milk some eggs not all, then quickly release.
fish like that get spawned in hatcheries across the country everyday and live to spawn for at least 3 to 4 years after. taking some eggs from stocked fish isn't gonna hurt anything, yours truly a hatchery worker
Making the best of this warm weather. Love it! We’ve been up to Minocqua, in Sturgeon Bay, and down to the Twin Lakes. Ice is off all around but the fish are still biting. Thanks for the vids
Great series Eric, excited for more videos! This season has been messy at best for everyone on the ice I think! You should do this series for winter, spring, summer and fall.
Eric Haataja I will be watching Eric. I am a diehard fisherman like you, love fishing for steelhead, browns and kings. Here in Southern Ontario we are surrounded by the Great Lakes. Huron, erie and Ontario. One thing I noticed in your video is that big brown was full of eggs, hasn’t spawned yet. Over here, usually in November the browns spawn, not sure in Wisconsin why they spawn so late in winter. You have a great channel and fishery over there, keep the videos coming, love watching them. New friend here. Adrian
You got my like when you were pulling sled down the hill, hit your leg and tripped you to the ground, lol. Thank you @ Eric Haataja You ever see a squirrel before??
mattioder we actually did see a bald eagle that day fly over which is pretty rare for Racine. Maybe our next video will be bird watching?? Thanks for the ideas...🙌🙌
Those fish are so pretty. Do you still do guided trips on Delavan and Lake Geneva? My Ma, Brother and I fished with you July 4th weekend like 9 years ago. You were awesome and very accommodating to me being in a wheelchair.
@@wibigfishcom I know its been a long time, but wonder if you remember us. My mother was white and MY brother and I have Brown skin. +Im in a wheelchair. You were awesome and we caught some bad ass Pike and Largemouth on Delavan, Cause Geneva was too Busy.
Adam Stalsberg I don’t sell them but some local bait shops do sell it. Fresh brown eggs are considered gold by most locals. Try a small piece of shrimp on a jig or tied in a spawn sac.
jason kirchner no it’s not but after you take the eggs it counts as a fish harvested towards your possession limit. We do this because some of the fish will survive instead of killing them.
@@wibigfishcom legend, liked and subbed. I'm from Windsor, been driving to Simcoe for ice fishing since we have only had a few days of good ice here this winter. Where is the closest from Windsor that I could catch a big trout like that through the ice? Aha thank you.
Fishing tour!!! Boo yah!!! Dude this is so awesome! I want to come! Omg this looks like so much fun!!! Check out my latest shenanigans on my new channel! Lakers have been hungry! Tight lines dude!
I like what you're doing, I just wish you didnt have to overlay it with over saturated shitty music every couple minutes. I dont know why this is such a staple in the fishing youtube scene, its beyond annoying having to turn up the volume cause you can barely hear whats being said and then seconds later having to turn it down because you're house starts shaking.
@@wibigfishcom i see ….a pity with the water Quality....the fish you catch are really nice and you do a great job there providing a lot of information and trips for the people
Just because they are stocked fish does not make it any less challenging or enjoyable. The stocking efforts on Lake Michigan are what make it a world class fishery.
@@stephenjessicatiefenthaler6537 agree in regards of challenge and joy - although a stocked fish has never the same power as a wild fish - in what size the fish are stocked? BR and enjoy fishing anyway!

great video, giant fish, and great techniques.
FishingGeeks thanks guys!
You guys are not trying hard enough to hide milking those browns. Good job
If a fish is being milked it should be kept imo. disrespectful to milk eggs and release. hold fish upside down remove hook and release.

Go to eastern side of the UP!
Robbie Miller what’s up that way besides Saginaw bay?
Believe Robvie is talking about lake superior. As saginaw is in the lower/middle of the state.
Robbie not Robvie
I'd swear that last one was a chinook if I didnt see those white gums. Nice fish!
Master of the through the ice tail grab

Why is he still using that dirty petro auger...it’s 2020, use electric
Bet if/when you happen to run out of battery on ice,You wont have a problem using a gas auger.
Or propane.
