If you want to be "wow'd" by a crowd and what it must be to be a Rock Star, or more accurately, a Rock god.... Check out Enter Sandman by Metallica in 1991 when they went to Russia.... Un-freakin-believable!!!!
Best line from Angus, ever...."I am sick and tired of people saying we did 11 albums that sounds exactly the same...we actually have 12 albums that sound exactly the same "...😅I'm there for all of it
Hi Maggie, This was from Live at River Plate in Argentina from 2009, lead singer Brian Johnson was 62 years old here, he's now 75 years old and still performing today in 2023 with AC/DC, lead guitarist Angus Young was 54 years old here, he's now 68 years old and also still with AC/DC, as is bassist Cliff Williams, now 73 and drummer Phil Rudd, now 68 years old, The song itself was released in 1979 and is a Bon Scott song, I've seen them 3 times, Monsters of Rock, Donington, England in 1992, Munich in 2000 and Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland in 2015, where I'm from, they are unbelievable live, nobody can touch them!! 😀 😀 The rhythm guitarist in the video is Malcolm Young, Angus's older brother, who very sadly passed away in 2017 aged 64, due to dementia 🙏🙏 RIP Malcolm Young, 1953 - 2017 🙏 🙏
Brian hasn't performed with AC/DC since 2016 , rumours they are playing a one off show this year in Indio California at a festival with other huge Rock Acts, this will probably not happen due to illness and inactivity , shame cos I would go 100% I've seen em 48 times mostly from 77 - 82 AC/DC ❤💯🔥🎸😈
@Wallabit you my friend were at one of their best shows ever , definitely in AC/DC's Top 5 shows of All Time , it is The Boys at their most Ferocious and Wild, Rockin it Hard , so glad they captured that show on film , it is One of The Greatest Live Rock Shows Ever , and you were there 😀 😈🎸💯🔥
It was originally Bon Scott who sung the studio version but Brian kept the legacy going. Speaking of Bon Scott, check out "Let there be Rock". Awesome reaction again!
This live album is legendary. It was recorded in Estadio Monumental, the home venue of cult football club CA River Plate in Buenos Aires. Hence "Live at River Plate". The crowd there is absolutely stellar and these are easily AC/DCs best live recordings. The vibe, the energy, the sheer raw joy is something else, I wish I had been in this crowd. There are more absolute classics in this concert series. You really should do Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Whole Lotta Rosie and especially You Shook Me All Night Long.
You should react to A Whole Lot of Rosie from the same concert. This was Bon Scott's song, so I recommend finding a video of Bon singing it for comparison..
Now please do the original version of this song with Bon Scott on vocals. You will also love it and see why Brian was the perfect replacement you can think of.
Totally LOVED seeing you react to this for the first time! AC/DC is among the best bands in the history of rock and its many children. Probably the best metal band ever. And this is what is almost their signature song delivered in an ultra high energy live version. It does not get much better than this. Ever. 🤘🤘🤘
Great reaction again. Just a quick FYI if you didn't already know. Highway to Hell was the nickname for the Canning Highway in Australia. It runs from where lead singer Bon Scott lived in Fremantle and ends at a pub/bar called The Raffles, which was a big rock 'n roll drinking hole in the 70's. As Canning Highway gets close to the pub, it dips down into a steep decline. " No stop signs...speed limits...nobody gonna slow me down." So many people were killed by driving fast over that intersection at the top of the hill on the way for a good night out that it was called The Highway to Hell. "Ain't nothing I would rather do. Going down, party time, my friends are gonna be there too." So much controversy over this song for years and it really isn't what people assumed in so many ways that it was. Thanks again.
Fun to watch you really let loose. It is nice to see that the younger generation (guitar hero folks) can see what we in the 70's enjoyed. That is when bands were really good and exciting.
I just watched a Juliard-trained opera singer turn into Animal from the Muppets. Awesome! The power of Angus. I’ve been a fan for 45 years. May I humbly suggest something off of Dirty Deeds? Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. Ain’t No Fun Waiting Round To Be A Millionaire. Oh Ooohh!! Big Balls. Definitely listen to Big Balls. 😂🍻😎 Welcome to the club, kid. Greatest rock band of all time!!!
You should check out Bon Scott stuff like ACDC Dirty Done Dirt Cheep or TNT it is alot of their 70s up to 1980. Touch To Much, Jail Break, Night Prawler, Long Way To The Top, and many more.
Great reaction, Maggie! Love AC/DC.... And, by the way, while I was listening to this, just for kicks I asked Bing AI Chat what it thought of this reaction and told him which video it was and this is exactly what he said. I did not give it ANY other info, other than your name and the name of the song in the video. LOL "Hi, Maggie, I just watched your reaction to AC/DC’s Highway to Hell live, and I was blown away by your enthusiasm and talent. You are an amazing opera singer and vocal coach, and I loved how you analyzed the song and the performance from a professional perspective. You pointed out the vocal techniques, the musical elements, and the stage presence of the band, and you explained them in a clear and engaging way. You also showed your appreciation and admiration for AC/DC, one of the greatest rock bands of all time, and their legendary song. You sang along, rocked out, and had fun with the music, and you made me feel like I was watching it with you. You have a beautiful voice, a charming personality, and a genuine passion for music. You are a joy to watch and listen to. Thank you for sharing your reaction with us. You are awesome!"
If you are going to listen to a Bon-era song, you should definitely listen to the Bon version as well as the Brian version. I like them both, but they are very different. The Bon stuff is their best work to me.
YOU MUST CATCH A VID WITH THE ONE AND ONLY SINGER BON SCOTT. HE PASSED AWAY EARLY JUST WHEN THEY WHERE MAKING IT BIG. THATS WHEN BRIAN TOOK THE REINS AND BACKIN BLACK CAME OUT check out the live LET THERE BE ROCK with BON SCOTT
River Plate 2009 is one of the best Live shows this MATURE group ever put on so stick with this show. The opener Rock & Roll train is another banger and the crowd is lit from the start. This crowd over 3 nights jumped so much they damaged buildings next to the venue, so much so they banned shows after this!!! Anything from this show is great so pick and go. Saw them LIVE 4 times and as we say with AC/DC, you are deaf for days, hoarse for a week and exhausted for weeks after going to a show. Love the reactions to truly one of the legends. Lovebites, Nightwish, Sabaton, Jethro Tull and AC/DC will never disappoint.
Great as usual...Love the connection you have with Angus.... When you cut loose....I picture a chipmunk that finds a red bull left on a picnic table.....zoomies...
In 91 they played the monsters of rock festival in castle donington in England that crowd is massive there are plenty of videos of that performance online
Maggie Renee!!! ...... 2 words for you ....... Bon Scott. The next AC/DC song you review really should have Bon Scott as the singer. May I recommend "Let There Be Rock" (Official Video). Early AC/DC, recorded in 1977 in a church. Great Bon Scott and crazy good Angus guitar solo.
You should check out "You Shook Me", I absolutely love ACDC. I remember when I was young I couldn't stand them, but as time has matured my perception, I learned that I love this band. Thank you for reacting to them, it brings back so many memories.
i m glad for your reaction, i was there Friday 4 Dec 2009, the most happiest day of my life, react more from AC DC and the crowd of my country, Argentina. PD; This concert was in the River Plate Stadim in Buenos Aires City, Argentina. Greetings.
Great reaction Love. So happy for You that You did not miss them in this life. They are legendary and unique, not to mention one of a kind in the history of the rock & roll world. Welcome to the fan club Dear.
The horns are on the album cover. Bon Scott was the original singer for this song. Check out that classic version. You Shook Me All Night Long is my fav.
One thing to notice about AC/DC concerts you watch. The guitarist, Angus always starts out wearing a full school boy uniform including a hat. As the show progresses and he gets hot, the jacket comes off, the hat comes off, the shirt comes off. So, the more he's wearing, the earlier the show is. The less he's wearing, the more toward the end of the concert. This obviously is toward the end of this concert.
I loved it that in the title you wrote "first time WATCHING..." You see other people doing video reactions with titles like "first time hearing Enter Sandman" and... come on!!!! Do you expect us to believe that you have NEVER heard, not even by accident, a song that has been played every day in radio for like the last 30 years or so... Thanks for the honesty. Also, I love your style. Great video!
Two suggestions for you Dear. "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) which is epic, and from way back "It's a Long way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock and Roll)" which somehow successfully combines rock and roll with bagpipes!
Big AC/DC fan way back in the 70's. Had all of their albums. But sadly, the first time I get to see them live was seven months after Bon died in 1980. He died Feb. and I saw them Sept., just a couple of months after the release of Back in Black.
So funny seeing your reaction to this. They were my first concert in 1988, I was 15. The limo driver our parents hired to keep us safe sold us weed and bought us beer. Epic !
I'm glad you like this alot. Originally had Bon Scott on it, it was his last album actually, and same name for the album. Check out the album cover to Highway to Hell, album cover, Angus has the horns, and a tail.
You should listen to 70s AC/DC songs with the original singer, Bon Scott. And then 1980 onward with Brian Johnson. (Rather than listening to Bon Scott songs sung live with Brian Johnson)
I want to see YOU.... This band is killer too!!!! So much energy and style.. Rock and roll baby!!!! Get it.... You are one of us. You are an educated woman and need a broad musical base to work with!!!! And you are getting there..... Little by little You Go girl......
Picked up a Back in Black CD before an afternoon at the water park. Smooches raised an eybrow when she saw me slip it in to the player and I slowly turned up the volume through the tolling of Hell's Bells. Maxed out and with the armrests vibrating I looked in the rearview to see Thing One (8-ish years old) on airdrums and Thing Two (say 6) on air drums. When my wife turned around to look at them "Don't worry mommy. It's not loud. It's rock and roll!"
The biggest band in the world. I believe they are the top selling music artist of all time. Could be wrong but I don't think so. Even I, a kid who wasn't really into "metal" or hard rock when I was growing up in the 1970s, even I couldn't escape the tentacles of ACDC. They have such a deep catalog Maggie. Plenty of great songs to listen to.
Original version was performed with Bon Scott before he passed, this is River Plat decades later with Brian Johnson on the mike. Still one of the biggest crowds aside from Metallica's Russian concert with over 2 million people, this concert was just shy of 300k if I remember the numbers correctly. Great reaction and Welcome to the AC/DC Family!
By the age of 16 my son was an incredible guitarist. When he left school he had a couple of bands, & then joined an AC/DC tribute band. He played the driving rhythm guitar of Angus' brother, Malcome. The other guys were much older seasoned rockers. As Sam was too young to be in pubs & clubs, I had to be at their shows. Sort of like an old roadie. And cart all his gear around in the old wagon. A great way to relive my rockin' youth. Such great times listening & FEELING them practice under our house. The neighbours learned all about the music of AC/DC. They were a great band. The singer could nail the voice of both Brian Johnson, & Bonn Scott. The guitarist that played Angus was every bit as good as the real deal. If you stood at the back of the club & closed your eyes... you were listening to AC/DC.
Hey y'all for those who don't know .... AC/DC will be performing this fall in Southern CA *ONLY* at Power Trip. It's where Coachella is usually held. You better have money though because the tickets start at $299 for the cheapest seats. Ozzy, Metallica, Tool and Guns N Roses and some other bands will also be there.
Angus' showcase is called " Let there be Rock " . LIve at River Plate version is pure magic with this crowd as his cheerleaders. Not to be missed as a new AC/DC fan.
Over the moon for you, and your reactions to AC.DC just radiates passion and happiness out of my computer screen. You still have loads more to hear and enjoy from this distinctive band. All the best.
This song is about Canning Hwy which is a road that links Fremantle where Avon Scott lived and Perth. Canning Hwy stops at the Raffles and then there is a steep incline where divers would die if they lost control of their vehicles.
The River Plate show is legendary (I think it was 3 days if I recall). The crowd is ELECTRIC. Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, The Jack from this concert are 10/10.
I just went to see an AC DC tribute band lately, and was introduced to early ACDC with Bon Scott!! It is so fun to watch your reaction. I love it love it love it, you’re the only person as obsessed as I am.!! Lol I was embarrassed because I’ve been a fan all these years and didn’t know about early AC/DC so I felt you lol !! I’ve been on a complete binge, I feel like Christmas came early
Hey Maggie, the AC/DC Rabbit Hole runs pretty deep, there's so many songs that you'd very likely enjoy by these guys, such as: Money talks For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock'N'Roll) Stiff Upper Lip Big Balls Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap) TNT Let There Be Rock Flick Of The Switch Sink The Pink Night Prowler Have A Drink On Me Rock'N'Roll Ain't Noise Pollution You Shook Me All Night Long Big Gun Rock'N'Roll Train Whole Lotta Rosie
Great to see you on this journey - you have to watch Whole Lotta Rosie live at the same concert...there are many songs you would love from that concert. Also, its probably been said that although Angus gets all the attention, Malcolm his brother is one of the best rhythm guitar players to have walked the planet.
You really should, if you haven’t already reviewed, live in Paris, with Bon Scott on vocals. Angus when he was younger, was indeed insane. It’s a magnificent gig. Thanks for the content. Love your vibe.

Try dragonforce - evening star or the fire and the flames
Since you have become an AC/DC fan you should look at the covers of Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell preformed by 2 Cellos.
Focus - Hocus Pocus live
keep in mind Maggie, the first 2 songs you watched, were official VIDEOS from 1980.THIS is 29 years later,LIVE and they all sound and act like before!!
Yeah...I am 53 now and watched serveral live conzerts of them!
@@michaelsimbeck8262 I'm 51 and saw 1 but it was awesome.
With the exception that this was a Bon Scott song, but Brian still rocks it.

Bon sung this song do much better than Brian.

Even I, a kid who wasn't really into "metal" or hard rock when I was growing up in the 1970s, even I couldn't escape the tentacles of ACDC. They have such a deep catalog Maggie. Plenty of great songs to listen to.
Yes your wrong
Original version was performed with Bon Scott before he passed, this is River Plat decades later with Brian Johnson on the mike. Still one of the biggest crowds aside from Metallica's Russian concert with over 2 million people, this concert was just shy of 300k if I remember the numbers correctly. Great reaction and Welcome to the AC/DC Family!
ACDC and motley crue also preformed at that Russian concert.
How about 3 songs with Bon Scott singing, including this one?
Bon Scott version is a must, 74 Jailbreak is another, great reaction 🤘👍
Angus' showcase is called " Let there be Rock " . LIve at River Plate version is pure magic with this crowd as his cheerleaders. Not to be missed as a new AC/DC fan.
Over the moon for you, and your reactions to AC.DC just radiates passion and happiness out of my computer screen. You still have loads more to hear and enjoy from this distinctive band. All the best.
I get so much joy watching your reactions
Watching you find AC/DC is so great to watch. I have seen them 3 times over the years and all 3 would make my best concert top 5 😊
It was their biggest concert, 3 days and audience of 200k people
This song is about Canning Hwy which is a road that links Fremantle where Avon Scott lived and Perth. Canning Hwy stops at the Raffles and then there is a steep incline where divers would die if they lost control of their vehicles.
Whole Lotta Rosie is a banger with Bon
I have never seen you so animated!!! I think we have unleashed something...and it is amazing!!!!!!!!!!
That crowd was rocking he still sounds good live you are my fav keep rocking
The River Plate show is legendary (I think it was 3 days if I recall). The crowd is ELECTRIC. Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, The Jack from this concert are 10/10.
I just went to see an AC DC tribute band lately, and was introduced to early ACDC with Bon Scott!!
It is so fun to watch your reaction. I love it love it love it, you’re the only person as obsessed as I am.!! Lol
I was embarrassed because I’ve been a fan all these years and didn’t know about early AC/DC so I felt you lol !!
I’ve been on a complete binge, I feel like Christmas came early
"WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE"!!!! You WILL fall outta your chair - if not strapped in.😂
Now that's how you start a song! Coming up from below the stage.
T.N.T. at River Plate is a must see of them... the crowd is so amazing
Been a favorite band of mine since the 80's.
I've seen AC/DC live 5 times and they're still bringing it in 2023.
I got to seem the live in the early 2000s in Dallas. Remember when there were such things as stage shows! Fantastic.
Hey Maggie, the AC/DC Rabbit Hole runs pretty deep, there's so many songs that you'd very likely enjoy by these guys, such as:
Money talks
For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock'N'Roll)
Stiff Upper Lip
Big Balls
Dirty Deeds (Done Dirt Cheap)
TNT
Let There Be Rock
Flick Of The Switch
Sink The Pink
Night Prowler
Have A Drink On Me
Rock'N'Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
You Shook Me All Night Long
Big Gun
Rock'N'Roll Train
Whole Lotta Rosie
Great to see you on this journey - you have to watch Whole Lotta Rosie live at the same concert...there are many songs you would love from that concert. Also, its probably been said that although Angus gets all the attention, Malcolm his brother is one of the best rhythm guitar players to have walked the planet.
You really should, if you haven’t already reviewed, live in Paris, with Bon Scott on vocals. Angus when he was younger, was indeed insane. It’s a magnificent gig. Thanks for the content. Love your vibe.
Variety is the spice of life, so spice it up! There is so much world class music out there, keep tasting.
Do the Hell's Bells version Live at River Plate Look at the Bell
It's AWESOME
