First of all, fantastic guide and I really appreciate it. I do have one question though. Once the hemp has grown at what stage do you farm it? And if it produces seeds are they in fact perfect seeds too or do you have to take clones? Thank you again. Liked the video
Glad you liked it! Okay so as soon as the plant reaches ripe you want to harvest it, it doesn’t matter if it’s 1 second after it reaches ripe or at 99% ripe, the yield will be the same either way. The plants do not produce seeds, so as soon as you have your clones, seeds will become useless to you, clones will essentially be your new seed, so you will need to do cloning phases, meaning you plant the clones of the plant you want more of, and then when that reaches sapling you take the clone from it, doubling (or more depending on how many Y’s there are) the amount of clones you have. Just be sure during cloning phases that you do not disrupt the genes by placing another plant with different genes next to it and allowing it to hit crossbreed before taking the clone. I hope this helps! Anymore questions feel free to ask
However be sure to harvest it before it reaches 100% ripe, because after that the plant will die, so let’s say you have plants growing at mature stage, before ripe stage, and are about to log off for a while, it is best to harvest them then, because when you return the plants may not be there

honestly showing the chart and making me realize it’s just biology and dominant and recessive genes made it so simple to understand props to you
Super happy to hear that! Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video helped!
Never thought I would use this thanks public school 😂
Best guide I have seen on crossbreeding. Great job
Thank you! I really appreciate that & glad I could help!
Solid guide and thank you for the visual!!!! I legit couldn’t understand the whole genetics until you broke it down on paper!!!🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for watching! I’m really glad I could help
I'm new to the game, but was fascinated by the genetic indicators so now I understand it completely. Nice job on the video, it was super helpful.
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much, I have been looking for hours for a video that describes it in a way I can understand. Keep up the great work, Thank you.

This guide is the easiest guide i have found, that ms paint visualization of whats happening really helps alot because i dont understand how crossbreeding works in this game and never tried it. Now i can start my own farm, thanks.
Good luck with your farm! Thank you for watching I’m glad that I could help :D
thank you for explaining this to me like a 3 year old, I've been watching countless guides and have always felt like I'm missing something.
Lol thank you for watching! I’m glad the video made it a bit easier to understand
Took me back to school using genetics! Made it clear and concise. Took the mystery away once it became biology. That’s my expertise in rl so when you showed it on paper swapping genes I had an “ahhhh, duh (bonk noggin)” moment and it clicked. I’m still learning all the other Rust stuff but this will make my farming perspective much more effective and productive. Subbed and liked. Gl growing your channel young man 👍🏼
Thank you for the support and the kinds words! I’m really glad the video helped you out, that’s awesome to hear! Have fun learning Rust

Bro this guide is by far the most helpful guide on RUclips that ive seen you make it easier to understand so i thank you for that..😁 Liked and subbed..
Thank you! That means a lot! And thank you for the like & sub too you’re awesome!
@@Kippa617 also i have a question, my hemp are currently at 90% fruiting would i still get full yield out of it
@@silv3rcoyot3 you will get yield, but not the full yield until it reaches ripe, whether it’s 99% ripe or 1% ripe the yield will be the same, but if you wait until after ripe stage the plants will die so it is best to harvest if you cannot wait for ripe, hope this helps!
@@Kippa617 yeah bro appreciate the help and if anyone asks me how to do crossbreeding imma refer them to this video..

Hey guys I realized a lot of you probably already understand the techniques of how to make your perfect clone before watching this, but may be struggling to get your genes. The most likely cause of this will be explained at 15:48 in the video, it’s all about the timing. Hopefully this helps & saves you some time!
Thanks you master Green thumb. You da Goat frfr🐐

Thank you for watching! Glad I could help :)
thx never got ggyyyy in my vanilla 30 planter farm cuz nobody elses video said to wait after planting the first plant lol, i was always letting it crossbreed
I made the same mistake many times! And I’m sure many others did too, really glad I could help!
It is a bit of a long video for what you're telling, but you finally made me understand how to crossbreed, so it was well worth it. Thank you.
Thanks for watching! & tbh, I didn’t want to have to make multiple videos on it, like I’ve noticed some people who touched on the subject milked it dry… I tried to make it so you can get as much value as possible in one video, as it is a pretty tricky subject imo. Glad it helped though!
so sweet of you
actual legend
no you
helpful video, hopefully i can be a great gardener like you!
If I can do it, you can too! You got this 👍
12:24 Ah, thanks for clearing this up, it was my misconception that different red genes add up!

Such a great video for sure man, took me days but re-watching this over and over for the past days helped a lot, finally got my perfect clone thanks to this genius, TYSM bro!! #FarmerGOAT
Congrats on the perfect clone thats awesome to hear! Nicely done! Really happy that the video helped out, thank you for watching
So, the idea after all of this is to have different combinations of genes so you can then make a lot of 'All green' genes and plant all of them in the planters, because they will cross polinate all greens, right? So you need a good amount of time making this to be sure that everything is green so then you can harvest, but it would be useful to clone all of them a lot of times so you dont have to do this again.
Essentially, you are looking for all green, With a combination of G’s and Y’s for maximum yield and faster grow time, basically, whether you are seeking a 3Y3G or 4Y2G, once you have the genes you are looking for, you plant the clone with those genes, and then at sapling stage, take a clone from it(your mother plant), they will share the same genes as it is a clone from the mother plant, and you should end up with 2+ clones depending on how many Y’s. So when you have the “perfect clone” you make sure to keep that gene alive by not letting your clones run out, by always making sure you have plenty of extra clones, if you have plenty of extra, you can plant all of your perfect clones and harvest when they are ripe, as soon as you start running low on clones you need to do a cycle on planting the clones you have left, and cloning them at sapling stage to double or more the amount that you have, and rinse and repeat until wipe. I hope this helps!
Awesome video.
Does anybody what happens if I plant 4 random seeds on the corners of the planter box, and a perfect seed in the middle, will the seeds in the corners copy the genetics from the 1 seed in the middle and become perfect seeds?
Thank you! In that case the genes will compete with each other as normally, so if you want to duplicate your perfect seed, plant it, allow it to hit sapling stage, and then take a clone from it, that should give you 2 (or more depending on how many Y traits) clones, you can repeat this to keep multiplying the clone, hope this helps!
stay on tune with what you want to learn, just because it's hard now, doesn't an it's impossible. It's all about ntal mindset and
Facts
Yo on console we finally got the farm update I’m soooo excited to be a farmer so I can tea farm thanks a lot now I can get lots of cloth instead of recycling my rope 😊
It’s a very fun and relaxing side of Rust, super happy to hear that you console players are getting some love (I started gaming on console myself back in the NES days) enjoy the update and have fun! Thanks for watching the video
dang even a fool like me can understand your teaching ,thanks man 👍👍
I’m glad to hear the video helped! Thank you for watching ✌️
Very great guide, one question tho, if I cross breed 2 negative X will it become a positive Y or G?
2 negative x’s in the same category will most likely give you a negative red for that slot, hope I understood your question, but you would want say 2 Y’s per 1 X to overpower it
so just to confirm, you're saying that the inicial plant to be cross breeded that the genetics dont matter. So if it was all red genetics it wouldn't matter at all? Great guide really helped me to understand
Correct! Genes of the first plant that ends up taking the genes from the others do not matter, really glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
That's the hazy skin i wanted for console
I just got a all green plant with y and g how lucky is that
idk how to make extra of the near perfect clone dude this has been killing my brain!!!!!!!!!!
Plant it and take a clone from it when it reaches sapling stage
I like this vid run your way to get more people that like your path thats me like
Thank you! Glad you liked it!
So if I get more clones of the same type, I can increase the chances from 50% right? The plant in the middle can crossbreeds from all the other spots in the planter?
Correct!
this is good, if i got a 3y,w,h,h will the other plants ruin the YYY?
Nah you’d just want to crossbreed the w h h out of the plant for g’s and y’s like shown
so after you place the correct ones around it and it hits crossbreeding, when do you collect the plaant so it has the new genes?
As soon as the crossbreeding stage is over you can take the clone from it
recently I was lucky enough to plant a pumpkin seed and got 5 Y's and an H, for some reason I cant get the crossbreeding from H to G. Pumpkin yield is 225 per 9 planter box, tried numerous times to convert that H to a G for faster growth but so far unlucky.
The 50/50 should help starting at around 7:53 basically you want two other clones with a G in the last spot, I hope the video can help!
Thank you! You explained everything I needed to know perfectly. I run my own server, love the game, but hate the pvp.
I'm a girl, so I'm not into competition like that. Just building mining, and collecting is my thing.. (Base Mother at heart)
Anyway, why doesn't rust have a simple menu to explain how to work their own crop system?!
Enough of the complaint, 😆 thank you!!
Thank you for watching! I’ve found myself enjoying the pve side of games more lately as well, and I agree the game should make it easier for people to learn these things especially for newer players. Glad I could help though 😄
