But once you get past him the rest of the game becomes easier. With each subsequent boss you suffer less and less deaths to learn them. Both father fights and both Isshin fights are super fun.

      I haven't played Sekiro, but the combat mechanics remind me almost exactly of the Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor games. I'm sure that's where the Jedi games got their idea for the guard meter and all the fights essentially being about learning an enemy's timing and slowly breaking down their guard until there is an opening. The difficulty is lower than a Souls-game, but the mechanics remind me so much of Sekiro from what I've seen and heard.

Add ANYTHING meaningfull(like equip load) extra to the same stat and that ends as "no brainer". They could try to find other way/mechanic to balance it making builds more diverse and intresting. It's so difficult to be objective with these lists because how you perceive a game's difficulty changes so much over time. On my first playthrough of DS3 Nameless King probably took me around 30 attempts, I found it really tough and nearly gave up on it because it's an optional boss. A few years ago I did an SL1 playthrough of DS3 which really forces you to learn the game inside and out and it was incredible, my best experience in a Souls game hands down. This week I went back to DS3 to tidy up remaining achievements and get the 100% on Steam. To do this you have go all the way to the end of NG+2, requiring 3 fights vs Nameless King in total. In all 3 NG cycles I beat him without getting hit on my first try. My perspective of his boss difficulty has warped so much since the game released that I honestly don't know how to categorise it.

      Did you give all the other games the same kind of attention? What I mean by that is yeah, of course the game is gonna be harder when you’re a beginner vs after you’ve mastered it. Did you learn all the other games in the same way? If you haven’t, I don’t think how good you are now should really factor in. 30 attempts is a lot, he kicked your ass until you learned his moveset and patterns. Before you got good, you got stomped, and that’s an indicator of solid difficulty

    What I loved about both Demon's Souls and Elden Ring is if you're stuck on one boss, there are always multiple other places you can be and other bosses you can try instead. The Dark Souls series and BB tend to have a very clear 'order' to the bosses, with only a few exceptions and if you're stuck at one, you just have to keep trying till you beat it, which can get frustrating

    It was pretty obvious that sekiro would be the top but my experience is a bit different. For me the hardest of these games was probably dark souls 3, out of all these games it was the one that took the longest to really pull me in. With Sekiro there was this "ah-ha" moment some three or four hours into the game that really gave me a good idea of what the game was about. And I think the reason why so many people see it as the most difficult fromsoft game is because they approach it like dark souls or Elden ring. In fact, it's almost like you have to relearn a lot of the combat mechanics, things that would help you in dark souls get punished heavily in Sekiro. For example in all the other dark souls games, you have stamina, whereas in Sekiro you don't. It's also much easier to reset fights because you can quickly retreat and get back into stealth. Then you learn about the flow of combat, that in most fights you should open with some sort of stealth strike and then push offense until the boss starts to deflect you at which point you switch into defense. There are bosses in the game that do kind of flip this on its head too which is cool but once you've got that flow down, it's just a matter of grinding things out. Imo, Sekiro is almost the easiest of all of these games once you understand what it wants from you. It's difficulty kind of reminds me of Celeste, both games are extremely difficult games that anybody can beat with enough perseverance and practice. It's why the game is much easier once you've already beaten it a single time, you already understand how you can push the rules of the game to your advantage and the RPG elements are so minor that most good players can beat the entire game without them.

It was by far the hardest game on list when referring to 1st playthrough but after beating isshin and starting NG+ plus i was now a true Shinobi and i blasted through the game, there was no better feeling than beating isshin1st try 😂

      I’d actually say ng demon souls is the 3rd hardest soulsborne. It’s got the horrible runbacks for bosses, world tendency that adds a level of tension and levels that sometimes feel just unfair. Iframes on rolls are the lowest in any soulsborne game along with the janky combat and the unclarity of where to go in the beginning. If we’re talking abt magic build then yeah it’s the easiest

    Great video! For me, It’d probably be Demon Souls, DS2, Dark Souls, Blood Borne, Elden Ring, DS3, then sekiro. Elden Ring is tricky because it’s completely different with/without summons. I was a little upset with how easy I found Blood Borne because I think it’s too easy overall (after blood starved beast I think it gets easier). You should do a ranking based on platinum/trophy difficulty because it’s night and day differences between games

      Dark Souls 1 for me was harder, cause at that time I had no access to internet, so no guides at all (yes, I got lost in tomb of giants without the lord vessel and had to travel it back - almost soft locked myself xD)
      I played DS2 also without internet but it was easier to navigate, plus the fact that you can warp from the beggining, made it much easier. Getting platinum on DS2 was more time consuming than DS1, farming those falconers for Sunlight medals took me a LOT of time, more than Souvenir of reprisals from harpies in DS1.

      I fell like ds1 is the hardest out of the triology, and it was the last i played, yes, i know the bosses are easy overall, but the areas are just soo cheeky, one wrong step and gravity will do the rest, and considering that a lot of areas has narrow paths, is not hard for that to hapen, some enemies are tough as well, the dark sorcerers on ooacile can easily 2-3 shot you, as well as all those monkey like enemies in the same area and the numerous crystal hollows on duke archives hiting like trucks, plus areas having other hazards/condicions ( like the traps in sen's fortress or the complete darkness of tomb of the giants )

    • @funnyjupiter4499
      @funnyjupiter4499 6 месяцев назад

      @@jajasking9652 i think dark souls 1 has the easy bosses with some exeptsions here and there but most bosses are pretty easy,
      i think it is the most cryptic of all the souls games, like how are you supposed to know that you have to wait in a birds nest for 30 seconds or that you have to connect the item's description to an obscure, off-the-beaten-path location that has a giant painting. Assuming you even noticed the painting the first time you were there, i will say it does make the discoveries you make more satisfying when you do find them but it can get annoying sometimes and i don't blame anybody who doesn't like it .I think if they added some more clues about the cryptic stuff would have helped it.
      it can be difficult to traverse the levels the first time you play them, i died more to traps or annyong enemy placement rather than any boss, blighttown is still the most annoying level i have ever experience in a souls game, yes you have the annoying levels in the other games like dark souls 2 like the forest where you have to fight invisible enemies or the way to the rotten boss, the rotten boss is easy but the way to ge to him is annoying as hell but i died less there that i did in blighttown,
      that being said dark souls 1 did teach me to pay more attention to my surroundings and what to expect in a DS game and how to approach it better and as a result i had an easier time in the later games in the series.

    1 thing that i dont think he directly mentioned for Sekiro is that the game rewards u being aggressive and the more u learn about how to play the more aggressive u can be. On a first playthrough u are likly to beat alot of bosses be almost completely depleting there hp, however the better u get that hp bar dosent mean mutch atall anymore and if u can keep up the aggressive playstyle u will beat bosses with half of there hp still remaining. Sekiro is also the only game where u actually start the game on easy mode and u can make it even harder in 2 ways. U have the Demon bell in the mountains that u can get to right after beating the Chained Ogre that makes enemys harder but is most noticable on bosses. U also got the option to give away Lord Kuro´s charm on a NG+ run or a fresh save after u beat the game once. That will make u take chip dmg if u miss time a deflect and end up blocking instead.
    If for some reson u think the game is getting easy then start up a fresh save and give Kuros charm back to him at the moonview tower and ring that Demon bell after beating the Chained Ogre. That small amount of chip dmg adds up really quick.

There are also op rune farms that get you hundreds of levels in a couple minutes. This game can even go in fourth or fifth, it just depends on your play style.

    Hardest to traverse through the levels (including boss run backs) - DS2 - BY FAR
    Hardest Bosses - Maybe Sekiro all things considered
    Hardest overall from the perspective of a new player with ZERO online help (wikis - guides etc.) - DS1 and DS2. They are extremely chaotic. You can't even find weapons, upgrade materials or even the blacksmiths easily.
    RPG mechanics are a double edged sword in terms of difficulty. Personally, the hardest for me was DS1, which i played back in 2012 with no guides. Being in the depths CURSED with basically an unupgraded weapon was a nightmare and far harder than anything i played later. In DS3 for example, progression is right in front of you. Upgrade materials come in plenty and in your way, and everything you need is in the hub area.
    And of course difficulty is very subjective. EG. For me that i played all the previous games without a shield, Bloodborne was a cakewalk, since it was the same playstyle, but i felt 3 times as powerful, with the increased speed and the rallying system.

  • @GracelessTarnished
    @GracelessTarnished 6 месяцев назад +1

    Sekiro certainly has the steepest learning curve as you have to truly learn the mechanics and not simply overlevel or summon. That being said, once it clicks, it goes from being the hardest to one of the easiest.
    Dark Souls 2 is the true example of a team that did not understand the essence of a souls game. And what happens when Miyazaki is not involved.
    Elden Ring is absolutely brutal and the bosses hit like freight trains and can 1 shot you even if you have good armor and are at a decent level. I went back to DS3 afterwards and the damage output of enemies was was noticeable lower. I feel like Elden Rings bosses and some enemies damage output needed to be nurfed just slightly.

    I feel like part of the reason why Sekiro is seen as one of the hardest if not the hardest game is the fact that the combat is so much different from the rest of the fromsoftware games. the combat from Sekiro forces you to be aggressive at almost all times; while the rest of the games you go on the defensive and wait for an opening to strike. which is what I believe threw almost every person (a soul veteran or not) for a loop. Everyone was in the same boat, experience with the other games didn’t help you much when it came to sekiro.

    I agree mostly, but Bloodborne can’t be harder than DS3 honestly. Especially not in terms of the enemies and bosses, which are objectively more difficult in DS3. The only way that DS3 can really be easier is if you go the mage route and run a magic build - since obviously you can’t rely on that as much in Bloodborne - but even then Bloodborne bosses on average are so much easier in comparison that it really doesn’t matter. Plus there’s enough items like Beast Blood Pellets to just make the fights completely trivial.
