You’ve been on such a perfume kick lately, and I’m not mad at all about it. You somehow make the videos engaging, even though we can’t smell them, and that is not anything I’ve experienced with anyone else doing fragrance videos. Thanks for another vid💞
Completely agree, I usually avoid fragrance reviews because of that (and the sheer volume and cost too), plus I tend not to like florals which are always a big chunk of the market aimed at women. I like fresh, green, weird, or woody

Girls in Canada Shoppers Drug Mart has a similar kit with really great sized samples plus the certificate for the full size.
If you EVER go for D&G Light Blue you MUST go for the Intense version. The bottle is better and it’s just the same as the toilette but better lasting power and just better period
Yes!!!! It’s my signature scent and the only one I currently get compliments on. I have to stop myself from using it everyday!

I love Black Opium! However, I have to buy Dossier’s version because the brand name Black Opium gives me hives and makes me itch. The Dossier version smells just as great in my opinion.
Regarding Black Opium, a couple of years ago I got a little sample vial and thought I loved it. I ended up buying a full size and after 5-6 days of use realized there was something I really didn't like about it. It's weird because I didn't feel like that at first, and the notes are all scents that appeal to me. I gave it a few more tries and just couldn't get down with it. I ended up giving it away. I say this since you mention initially not loving this one, and now you kinda like it. I recommend using up the entire sample to be sure on this one! I also think this one can transform quite a bit when on the skin for a few hours. From this set, Light Blue, Flowerbomb, and Candy are my faves. I also love that mint colored sweater on you Lauren!
I think they may make samples in a different factory. Like coke…different bottling places, different taste! Or maybe they do it on purpose to get us to buy the full size. I sampled Versace bright crystal absolut and loved it so much I purchased the largest size…and I hate it!
I had the same thing happen with the Tom Ford black orchid. I fell in love with the sample but when I ordered the full size it does not smell the same. I’m going to use it but I won’t buy it again. I did get another sample in the mail so I’m trying to save that and use it sparingly

I had the same experience with Black Opium (luckily just a sample!) as well as another YSL perfume - Mon Paris (50 ml full size 😅). Too cloying!
I had to have Black Opium too, because of the hype a few years back. I never liked it, just okay.
For some reason I feel like I need a perfume. Maybe a few for different times of the year. I’m 53 on the 6th and I never really bought my own perfume. I ordered a travel thing of Alien by Mugler. I need a change. Have a wonderful holiday season everyone and be safe!!!
It’s very fun, sample packs help for sure. I like to mix Alien & Angel together.
Black Opium is my signature scent. I get compliments all the time. I just bought a new 5 oz because I’ve gone through several 1-3oz bottles and one travel spray.
I sometimes wear flower bomb and the bum bum body mist but I ran out and haven’t bothered to repurchase.

I am so happy to hear you say that you enjoyed my way and black opium but so sad you didn’t like Gucci bloom ! All three bottles were designed by my dad here in Paris. I am excited to see that they became famous in America. Even black opium has become a classic fragrance which I find so cool ! Anyway thank you so much for giving your honest opinion on my dad’s work this means a lot.
Whaaaaat that is so cool!! Honestly the Gucci Bloom bottle sells me on the product even though I am not a floral girl. He did a fantastic job!!!
I bought the New at Sephora perfume set, and immediately fell in love with Ellis Brooklyn Bee. I smell the honey and cacao absolute in this fragrance. Bought Black Opium earlier this year and love that one also.
Yup… I’m waiting for the “due to high demand” delay of the sale shipping of orders to relax… before I’ll redeem my voucher for Bee. (Right now, I have 2 orders with etas of Nov 26th and Dec 5th!!!! My local Sephora doesn’t stock Ellis Brooklyn, so I’d have to order that too.)
By the way.…. Since you like Bee… you might also want to sniff Vanilla Sky, by Skylar. 😉
Oh boy Libre intense is my religion. This one sticksss to you for days and my hair smells perfected. Dolce viva unfortunately does not linger that long as I would expect from a “high end” perfume

My husband and I got the sampler packs and have had so much fun going through them and trying everything. Like, I have an entire spreadsheet for our notes. My favorite so far is definitely My Way, but I like it so much I have half a mind to use the voucher for my second favorite fragrance (whatever that ends up being) and just buy a larger bottle of the My Way.
I just bought Marc Jacobs Perfect during the Sephora sale. That was truly a “Who am I?” scent, as I find his fragrances a little too floral for my taste. There’s just something about that rhubarb and almond milk combo that is the right amount of warm and sweet enough for me. And I love the packaging, although I can understand some people may find it tacky 😆

Super unrelated to Sephora perfume but I have to recommend A Whiff of A Wafflecone from Imaginary Authors! Super tasty gourmand smell that is all caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, ice cream with a wafflecone goodness! Seems super up your alley and after receiving a sample I kind of feel like I need a full bottle myself!

Perfect surprised me as well. I am not a fan of the Marc Jacobs DNA at all usually, and I prefer either heavy oriental, vanilla, or gourmand scents. But I got a sample and it ended up growing on me enough to buy a full bottle. I don’t really have many fresh perfumes and for me it’s fresh because of the rhubarb.
When it comes to Burberry Her and Baccarat, they’re both MFK fragrances and have a bit of a medicinal and airy vibe. Other than that, I see no resemblance.
You need to get your nose on Kilian Love Don’t Be Shy (bubblegum “, marshmallow and orange blossom - soooooo good), and Black Phantom (unisex leaning coffee gourmand).
I would love to see other people's fragrantica profiles, I don't think our tastes align exactly but I love hearing different perspectives on scent.

I love amateur scent hour!! I’ve recently gotten back into fragrance in a new way (like really pausing to think about the scents rather than like, just saying if it smells good or bad). It’s almost like uncovering something new about myself? I love it. My current fav is Cloud, but I also love the Lost Cherry dupe I got from Dossier. 💜
I'm so impressed with how well you describe fragrances. You paint such a clear picture of what they smell like to you and then can link that to the actual notes. I'm not on the lookout for a new perfume yet, but I love learning more about my own preferences from your descriptions!
I'd love hear your take on perfumes that are in the same line or have similar vibes. I think you'd be great at explaining how they are/aren't similar and why we might like some and not others. For example: comparing Tom Ford perfumes, men's and women's versions of the same perfume (like D&G Light Blue vs. Light Blue pour Homme), perfumes with specific notes (sandlewood base notes, citrusy top notes), etc.

I have had this on my wishlist ever since it came out! I’ve never owned a high end perfume and I thought this would be a good way to test and see which one I want!
Most definitely! I’d you didn’t get it during the sale… it’s still a good deal. In most cases, it’s cheaper to get the sampler set and then redeem it for a full size. I bought 2 sets, including this one… and for $55 during the sale… and redeemed the voucher for the Flowerbomb which would have cost me $68 during the sale or $85 before or after. So, even at full price - $68 for the sampler - you’d get a good deal, in the end.
@@tanyas6643 YES! The sampler kits are such a good deal! You get a ton of samples AND can save a bit of money on a full size bottle. Some of the travel size kits even have Tom Ford. Basically you can get a Tom Ford travel size for about half the regular price if you get it through the kit.
I'm a little bit addicted to perfume so these kits are a lifesaver when I'm itching for a new scent. Especially during the height of the pandemic when leaving the house for non essentials was a no-go. I went a little crazy from not being able to go out and get samples.
You should play a game where your husband sprays a scent on a scent card and u guess the perfume! Just a fun little video idea 💡💕💕
I absolutely looooove these videos, Lauren!!! I have always been into perfumes but I have suffered from major migraines and chronic depression and chronic pain for years and just lost all interest in fragrances and makeup. All last year and half of this year I’ve spent soooo much money on makeup I will never use but I swatch palettes all the time and blushes etc but the past couple months even before you started your series I had been getting into fragrances. I think out of all of those I would get the Black opium. I am just not a flower girl at all. I do like peony, magnolia and gardenia but I looooove the woodsy, amber, dark thick scents. I was so bummed though because I bought a big bottle of that damn Byredo Mojave Ghost that everybody was screaming about and I swear to you that I spray and spray and spray and smell absolutely nothing and then I’ll get a tiny hint of something unrecognizable but it fed away quickly. Stupid me didn’t return it either. Keep up the good work!!🥰🥰🥰🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I've spent way too much money on makeup and lots of lipsticks since covid hit and didn't touch any of them, not even swatched, just admired their beauty and thought oh well, why wear them if I don't leave my house. This past month I've started trying my new pallets and it feels good to sit down and put makeup on again. It's like a re-awakening from what we've went through and still going through.

you should totally check out rogue by Rhianna. It's an underrated cheapie! It is more of a polarizing scent, but it smells so niche. It is a swede and plum perfume- it smells like leather and nerd candy
Light Blue is my go to "work" scent. It offends no one and makes me feel put together, fresh, and ready to go :) Outside of work, I love musky and sweet scents (like Tom Ford velvet orchid) but at work... I just want to smell clean.
I really wish we had this kit in Canada. We have something similar, but it doesn't have the Cheirosa from sol de janeiro in it, and that's the one I would have got.❤❤
Ahhh I just noticed that you have Valentino Donna Born in Roma on your tray, my bottle just arrived yesterday! I also have, and adore, Versace Crystal Noir. Both are so good. I wonder if you'd also like Giorgio Armani Sí Passione. I get tons of compliments on it and it is a unique, sexy scent! I could never get enough of black opium I wore it during the day . I felt the same exact way about Prada candy even after I went through my bottle I went through all these samples I collected -just finished a couple weeks ago! Woop woop so now I will allow myself to buy one

I have tried to love Black Opium but I just can't do anything with even a HINT of powder, it takes over on my skin. None of these in this set call out to me, but if forced, I'd go for the Sol De Jeneiro as a bedtime scent.

The Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue Love is Love is amazing. It was a flanker for last summer, but if you can get your hands on it I think you will enjoy it. The dry down is when it smells best.

I just bought one of these perfume samplers. I bought the one with the Juliette has a gun Pear Inc in it. I really love other Juliette has a gun fragrances so I’m hoping I love that one. I own Black Opium- I’ve had it for years but haven’t worn it in a really long time. I have discovered that I don’t like the smell of jasmine, there is just something off putting about it to me.
It makes me so sad you can't get the try and buy samplers in Canada! You can buy fragrance sampler sets from Sephora but you're literally just paying for the samples and it's not nearly as nice a gift or as good a value :(

It's so funny to me how preferences can be so similar and so different at the same time. I love Flowerbomb and Daisy like you do, but I hate Nest Wild Poppy, enjoy Versace Bright Crystal and Tocca Florence, and absolutely adore Gucci Bloom!
Check out Versace Dylan Turquoise, it’s a good mix of tropical, fruity, floral and woodsy. I typically can’t do too fruity/floral or fresh - it smells like bug spray on me - so the woodsy helps balance it and warm it up just a touch. Typically I have to wear woodsy, musky or gourmand profiles because they work best on my skin. This one gives me fresh but without bug spray by the end of the day. It’s about as fresh as I can go in spring/summer.

If you’re still loving Light Blue in the springtime, I really, really recommend Moschino’s I Love Love. It’s semi-recently discontinued but as a result is easily found at ~Marshall’s type stores. It’s practically the same as I Love Love but has a little pinch of something like musk to make it smell a little more complex and worn in. Maybe comparing their notes and reviews of them would explain better the super subtle differences if you find yourself looking to own.

I love Black Opium. It’s actually lighter on my skin than you would think when smelling on a blotter. It’s the kind of perfume I find myself wearing for days at a time. It’s so good.
I love Scent Sundays! I'm so glad you started to talk about fragrances. I don't know the days and times people upload their videos, but it's a series I love, I do catch on and now I'm happy to add you to my Sunday list for this series. You and Leah have re-introduced me to perfumes and it's been a very long time since I bought a "real" fragrance, I'm now wondering what I will like and buy. I'm going to hunt this down. I don't shop at Sephora really, but I have three by me that I'm going to check out.
I do have one question: When you redeem the certificate, is it going to cover the full price or do you have to pay on top of it?

Light Blue is my favorite perfume of all time. It has never grown old, not in the 20 years I've been wearing scents, and to me it's my signature that I always need to have on hand. I just love bright, slightly sweet citrus and Light Blue is the perfect example. And I think it smells good ON me as well, not just to my nose. It's so good. I just need them to update that ugly drugstore knockoff packaging.
I'm pretty sure the notes for Gucci Bloom are different on Fragrantica are different than they used to be. I got it several years ago and remember honeysuckle being one of the scent notes. Also, honeysuckle is included in all the offshoots of Gucci Bloom. There used to be a lot more notes listed than just three.
I'm so so on Black Opium. I like it but it's not a love. However I LOVE Black Opium Nuit Blanche. Also Lady Million and Lady Million Prive are stunning. They're super underrated imo.
My taste in perfume has always been on the heavy darker side BUT my preferences has definitely shifted a bit. Still love gourmands but its more floral up front with gourmand/sweet in the background that does it for me now.....which is crazy since I started my fragrance journey not too fond of floral scents.
Marc Jacobs perfumes are my absolute Favorite! 1 100% want this kit so I can get a bottle of Perfect 😍
Bubblegummy Tuberose recommendation: Kilian's Love Don't Be Shy. So good, but so expensive.
We definitely have similar tastes in fragrance- you might like Sofia by Sofia Vergara, Signorina Misteriosa by Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry Brit, Lalique Soleil (so expensive also), Jimmy Choo Fever, Jimmy Choo Illicit, Jennifer Lopez Still, DKNY Be Delicious, Dolce Garden, D&G The Only One, Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord for Her, Nina Ricci L'Extase.
These perfume videos are so GOOD! keep doing it!
I also adore perfect. It smells like rhubarb, a glass of almond milk and a fuzzy blanket. It's so unique! I am such a sucker for a rhubarb note. Aura is another one with that note that I have my eye on

I got the same set during the friends and family sale and ended up getting the Burberry London Dream. I also really like the black opium and perfect but I already have minis of those.
I think MJ Perfect is the most versatile. Black Opium is a classic but challenging to wear year round.
I think we have pretty similar perfume tastes and I also dislike all of the other Tocca perfumes BUT I absolutely love Tocca Colette!! So I definitely recommend giving it a spray next time you’re at Sephora :)
Black Opium is an all time favorite for me. Funny because I normally hate pachouli! So sad I didn’t get my hands on this sampler kit before it sold out.

I feel the same about Prada Candy! Back in the days, I thought it was too sweet and too strong but now I feel like it's pretty soft. Idk if the scent changed or if my nose is just different. Same for Black Opium, it used to be too much for me lol. And Her by Burberry is a scrubber; smells good on paper but I hate it on my skin
I'm taking a break from buying perfumes bc my nose has changed way too much in the last few months. I bought a set with the intention of getting Perfect but I didn't like it anymore :( I'll try it again in the summer!
I can’t get the Sephora samplers because I’m only close to a Sephora inside JCP :/
I did make one order during the sale, I bought four mini fragrances, my Killian Princess wasn’t in my order but they are sending it out. Taking forever just to ship! I bought Ellis Bee ( love it, but on me it smells like old leather , so I use it as a room fragrance in my bedroom and I’m loving it! I got Valentino’s Volce Vita set and gave the smaller mini to my MIL, it’s nice but forgettable. My fav is this tiny perfume oil that was $15, Maison Louis Marie L’Tang Noir! It smells like cardamom, fireplace air, but on me it smells like winter in the middle of the forest with a campfire , vanilla like tobacco at times at other times like a slight smoky gingerbread and it’s so potent! Just a dab and I keep smelling it all day I’m shocked at the lasting power.
I like that Tocca fragrance but only in small amounts and only when it’s the hottest days of the year. I also layer it and the dry down actually is really nice after an hour. I love Prada, but their Infusion D’ Iris is my all time fav. I was shocked that the Candy Kiss smelled nice on me. I love amber scents but the majority of them end up smelling musty or leather and I don’t like that dry down at all. Makes me feel like I should turn my head and see mothballs or something. I can’t wear Patchoulis, I love how it smells on others. But on me it smells like Americanized Chinese food or Lawrys Season All lol

I sampled the Dolce Light Blue and the Versace Bright Crystal recently and I get "bubble bath" notes 😂

I am waiting for my sampler to arrive and haven't decided between the Perfect and Vice Viva. A surprise hit that I really love is Dolce & Gabanna Shine. It is floral but absolutely beautiful. Have received so many compliments.

Full on tuberose is a love it or hate it smell. It's an infolic (animal and uh...a bit fecal) white floral. Very loud.
What Alexis Carrington would wear (Joan Collins 'Spectacular' was, fittingly, a tuberose soliflore).
Armani probably used it in a lighter way.
By the way, I think you're getting better and better at talking fragrance. It's not an easy topic. Anyone can show a swatch of a blinding highlight, but smell doesn't even have a language.
Of course there are smells everyone knows, like citrus, vanilla and violet, but when describing combinations or accords it's another story.
I redeemed it for Wild Poppy. I like to layer it with a gourmand, (Skylar Vanilla Sky, hey hey!) as I'm not generally crazy for florals on their own. The sweetness of this one made me keep smelling my wrist, so that's always a good sign. I might have picked Voce Viva or Sol de Janeiro, but I already have those! I'm growing weirdly fond of Black Opium too. Maybe they changed it. Huh.
I love Sephora and ULTA perfume samplers. I usually try to get the free sets with a Sephora purchase.

I really want you to try Givenchy Hot Couture (the edp). It is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE winter perfume. It smells exactly like a department store, right when you walk in (what I remember smelling at Macy’s when I was a child). Such a sexy, beautiful smell.
You got me started on these favorites samplers and now I can’t stop. 😆 For some reason I didn’t realize the savings to redeem for a full size. This one is in-store only, but I’m thinking of going to get it.
My preferences have changed, I used to love clean, fresh scents (DG light blue was my favorrrrrrite for so long) but now I’m loving gourmand scents! Anything sweet and vanilla is all I want right now. The Kayali Vanilla 28 and replica by the fireplace are what I am wearing these days. I also love florals but I agree the tocca line is not my favorite but I do like collette from that line. I believe it is a dupe for byredo mojave ghost but I dunno because I don’t trust myself at the byredo counter so I have not actually smelled it for myself 😂
Lauren can you review all the juicy couture perfumes pretty please. They came out with a new juicy neon and I have heard great things about 80 percent of their perfumes.
my perfume sampler sadly hasn't arrived yet but I'm excited for marc jacobs perfect, flowerbomb and bright crystal! I'm excited for black opium too but I'm kind of worried it might be a bit too strong. I recently got jo malone orange bitters and it was way stronger than other ones I had so maybe I'm not too into strong perfumes hmmm.
I can’t wear perfume cause it gives me migraines but I watch all of your perfume videos anyway 😂❤️

The voce viva was my latest perfume purchase. It is a great work perfume, last a long time ,and is overall just a lovely, pleasant scent. The Bright Crystal smells like bug spray on my skin after 30 minutes.
Prada candy smells like sweet cardboard to me 🤷🏻♀️. I can never wear flower bomb because a roommate I had a bad experience with drowned herself in it every day🤮

My first love for Marc Jacobs fragrance was Dot, actually! Then my bottle went rancid (boohoo) and didn't find a new fave until Perfect, and it's SO nice. I think that'll be my next big perfume purchase as well.
