I've followed you guys for a while now and you're videos ROCK! I especially love the heart and soul a viewer can feel from your displayed emotions, both ups and downs!
Cant.......stop.......watching....... this............video. OMG those eyes! Seriously though, I'm just here to raise Trent's hopes about my chosen profession (supermodel, naturally) but even more so for the hat and hoodie! Keep it up guys!
Thanks guys. I'm a tried and true archery elk hunter at hart, but I've been in a timeout for a few years. Right now I'm up in ak, but soon enough I will return to my old haunts! Thank again and good luck this season, I'm looking forward to watching it.
Where in Oregon is this this place looks really familiar since I've been born and raised here but not quite sure where this place is at ? If anybody knows would you please enlighten me
I love watching your videos of elk hunting in the PNW! I see you guys on coastal tree farms that are similar to the ones here is Wa. Do you plow through the jack firs/reprod thats so dense you could never get a shot or even figure your direction? If you do, why? Im hoping for my first bull since getting stationed here and thats one piece of the land I havent figured out.
Tjmcna We definitely do when we have to. Don't get me wrong we have had bulls that we can almost reach out and touch and still can't get a shot off. But what we have found is that just being in that thick stuff with them might be the only opportunity for a shot that you get. Stick with it and keep calling!! Good things will happen!!
Born and Raised Outdoors ...thanks for the quick reply! Here's to hoping for Roosevelts for September dinner! Best of luck in all you do and thanks again for the channel...love it!
That Cody Rich feller sent me over...I hear you boys like to hunt some elk?!? ME TOO!! ;-) Hi Trent, Treavor, and Red Rumsey you guys are my favorite knuckleheads on the interwebs. I hope all is well and you guys pack out some MONSTERS this season!!
" Congrats on getting the 5 point " Thats awesome U got input from the men by waiting until morning to look for the elk " from Terry Sumey ( bow hunter , Lakewood,Wash
Awesome video! Good job making the decision to back out. So many animals are lost to us pushing to find them. Give me breakdown on what gear you were using please! I see he was using a Carbon Hoyt..... what draw weight and draw length? Arrow weight? Also, I'm curious what pack he was using? And how much did each guy carry out??? It looked like the shooter had 2 quarters on his back plus carried the head. Dude is a grownass man. lol
As the great Abraham Lincoln once said, "Having talent is like having BABY BLUE EYES or a fancy mustache. You don't admire a man for the colour of his eyes or his fancy mustache. I admire a man for what he does with his talent." You guys have some elk killing talent!
Never wait till the next morning... they can rot overnight. A butcher told me that he turns them away... he won't process an Elk that laid dead overnight.
George Adams I understand exactly what you'r saying. This is our biggest concern when we shoot and animal in the evening. Thank God this elk meat was in great shape.
I couldn't possibly top the blue eye comments of xxxman.... so I won't try, but I will thank you guys for the great content you put out. Born and Raised, FDFT, and TRO have accomplished their mission of inspiration and motivation in this flat lander for sure! P.S. I think Trent is right, its a chick.
Braden O'Hare Thanks for the encouragement man. It's comments like this that motivate us to try and do better every time we pick up the camera. ( and yes, I agree its got to be a smoking hot chick).
As the Great Chris Young Sang: "But watching your BABY BLUE EYES, dancing in the candle light glow, All I can think about, is getting you home, Walking through the front door, Seeing your ASAT camo hit the floor,
How was the meat? I shot an elk in the Oregon Coast range years ago and it died in a creek. I had gutted it and then came back to it later. I have to admit, the meat from that animal was not the best due to not getting that hide off for several hours even though it was in a creek. (One side in the other side out). The body of that animal was still warm. Turned most of it to sausage to hide a multitude of sins.
To: "MY DEEP BLUE EYED BOY".... Like white waves crashing on a restless sea Beautiful blue as sky in Summer's day You're eyes appear so wonderful to me And marvel me in so many a way Oh how they sparkle as finest crystal Or glisten softly like moon-touched sands Just a single glance can leave me blissful Wishing to hold you gently in my hands Though separated by quite some distance In my mind's eye you do often appear The beauty I see leaves me in a trance When I dream of your eyes I have no fear No picture has better captured the skies Than looking in to your ocean-blue eyes.... man oh man... HUNK FOR SURE!!! 😂
Years ago here in WA ST. my wife and I were hunting Blacktail deer, and it was almost the last day. Anyway I went to look over a landing that had a river behind it. There in front of me were 2- huge 6 points 2- huge 5 points 2 - nice 4 points 3 points 1 spike, and finally 2 rag 5 points. If you want to call them rag bulls? They just didn't have the same mass like the rest. I think there was 1 cow that I could see. It was unreal for me to see that many Roosevelt elk bulls together. Elk season was about ready to start that next week. I don't elk hunt, but if I did I would of been on that. I'm not a liar, and I swear on my fathers grave me, and my wife seen them. I wish I would of had a video camera back then! It was strange that there weren't more cows. Do the bulls hang together after their rut?
David Regan It's not that out of the ordinary to see 2 or 3 bulls together but that many I would say is pretty rare. That is so awesome that you got to witness that!!! It's something you and your wife will remember forever.
It was amazing seeing that many Roosevelt elk in one small area. I've seen a few bulls that hung together, but nothing like that. I told my wife if it was elk season, and we had tags we would have 2 wall mounters right now. The pack was nothing, maybe 50 yards up to the road! I did notice across the river was a house. I sure wish I could of videoed all of them! I bet I'd have 1,000,000 views with people drooling over them! LOL
carbon bow, somebody saved up. I want one but my old mathews z7 has been good to me. Maybe if it breaks all get a carbon and bury my mathews in the timber it has produced from.
"He looked so much like a stallion, but he was so much like a foal. A devil when he held me close, a hunk when he smiled. He always held those hard horns so well, but somehow I always knew He'd go away when the tamarack turned yellow And the sky turned baby blue. And baby blue was the color of his eyes. Baby blue like the Oregon coast skies. Like a bugle of fall, he came and left, And I still don't know why, So here's to you and whoever holds my baby blue tonight."
You guys know how to kill elk, for sure, but Mr. Cody Rich wanted me to give you some bear hunting advice: trade the sand bar for a dive bar, 300 RUM country for Bacardi country, and campfire banter for gentle whispers. But keep those blue eyes clear.
Why kill a bull that small? Why not just harvest a cow and let the small bulls grow? I am not from the Midwest and don't really understand what the big deal is about killing a bull elk if it is that small, I mean the antlers/horns are so small. Are they so highly prized that even a small one is worth taking? It does not affect the quality of the herds taking them this young? I am just saying this because I have been watching a lot of elk hunts on YT for the past year and some change and everyone wants a bull when there are cows for days. Can someone please clarify. Great video by the way!
The terrain is what would make killing something so worth it, ESPECIALLY with a bow. I guess since you say that any bull is a trophy over there, this is true? Are you a seasoned hunter who has done this for a long time that can genuinely speak objectively on the matter without unreasonable biases? This is an honest question as I have been on a quest for this answer before without any luck.
Ahh so it is a specific sub-species. I see now! Thanks Mark!!!! You the MAN! I am envious you get to hunt here. I hunt down here in Texas with dreams of hunting there.
I’m surprised to see that your group is going for such poor quality of an animal as a five point. I expect higher standards from you guys as a group. I love watching your videos and expect to see six points or better. I know that it is hard to keep the videos flowing but I’d rather see less with more quality. Thank you Fan of your videos.
No matter how much you practice no one can make the perfect shot every time it's what you do after you make a less than ideal shot that makes the difference
Bill Carlson ,actuly , if you look at that first shot placement it's not bad , it's. that bull tryed to duck n run just as that arrow got there, you can never predict that! It was a great hunt to watch thank you for sharing it! I'm sure that bull died, shortly after you made the call to back out. but it was still the right choice, again awsome hunt.
That was a year I tried a brand new broadhead that hadnt been released to yet. My first shot placement was perfect but instead of breaking right through the rib bone it deflected off of it and broke the head. I talked to the manufacturer and they said that the batch of heads I got were cooled too fast after they made. so it made them brittle. needless to say, that was the last time I shot them.
I've followed you guys for a while now and you're videos ROCK! I especially love the heart and soul a viewer can feel from your displayed emotions, both ups and downs!
The amount of elk content you guys have is amazing! New videos all year long... love it 😍
Cant.......stop.......watching....... this............video. OMG those eyes!

I've been watching a lot of your videos, and I noticed you guys never use a map...how do you keep from getting lost in those baby blue eyes?
Shane Forrest That's the best one I've heard in awhile!
Love that you show it all, as it happens
Those baby blues put a bull on the ground but do they put the lotion on the skin?
Wtf
Real men stalk their prey and play the game of patience and precision. I love the video!
Rifle hunters do that too
Nice work guys ✊. I appreciate you filming for us. Absolutely badass 🇺🇸
You did the right thing. Glad you found him.
My buddy and I are thinking about bow hunting in Oregon. Just not exactly sure how to get started. Cool vid.
Where in Oregon is this this place looks really familiar since I've been born and raised here but not quite sure where this place is at ? If anybody knows would you please enlighten me
Crickets. But my bet would be somewhere in the Melrose Unit.
I love watching your videos of elk hunting in the PNW! I see you guys on coastal tree farms that are similar to the ones here is Wa.
Clint Radford Thanks man and good to hear from you. This seasons going to be a dusey!!! Hopefully we can live through it.
What kind of knives do you guys use for dressing you animals in the field?
Tyler Roberts we use Benchmade. Rack of us prefer a little different knife but the Saddle Mountain skinner is a good one.
Good deal. Thanks for the info. Heard great things about Benchmade. Keep the vids coming. Love your stuff!
" Congrats on getting the 5 point " Thats awesome U got input from the men by waiting until morning to look for the elk " from Terry Sumey ( bow hunter , Lakewood,Wash

My fave vids on the tube!!
As the great Abraham Lincoln once said, "Having talent is like having BABY BLUE EYES or a fancy mustache. You don't admire a man for the colour of his eyes or his fancy mustache. I admire a man for what he does with his talent." You guys have some elk killing talent!
slosurfer27 Abraham Lincoln was a very smart man!!!

Love the videos , always watching them when I'm on the shitter !!!!!

George Adams I understand exactly what you'r saying. This is our biggest concern when we shoot and animal in the evening. Thank God this elk meat was in great shape.
Good to hear...
That’s true but then again Oregon tends to be pretty cold at night especially up in hills but still very true
Great Video! You guys are doing it right!
Elk Addicts Thanks a bunch brother!!

Man... That thing seemed like it suffered. I'd feel like garbage.
As the Great Chris Young Sang: "But watching your BABY BLUE EYES, dancing in the candle light glow,
All I can think about, is getting you home,
Walking through the front door,

Sidney Smith I can't stop laughing!!!
Born and Raised Outdoors funny thing is that song was playing in the office while I had the rich outdoors song on
Good tracking guys. Great Vid.
Bill Percell , I agree Bill , not enuff videos show enuff of before and after the shot , tracking, is a big part of alot of hunts ,
Cody's mustache might bring all the boys to the yard, but them baby blues bring all the men to the bedroom!

Forget about the Elk; what a beautiful blue eyes on this guy. Yum! A Hunk for sure
Steve, someone has the hots for You....and it's a dude.

That is awesome!!
Calvin Davis Probably one of the greatest poems ever written!!! I will print this off and hang it in my office for all to see.
A little George Strait inspiration goes a long way!! Haha!
You can't get better than Oregon elk hunting! It's the best kept secret ask anybody
damn i know were you guys are too i hunted up there last year nice elk btw
I would always recommend putting a second or third arrow in a Roosevelt elk.
They have a will to live like no other animal in North America.
Not going to be able to get those baby blues out of my mind all summer. Can't wait to zip the tent closed with this beast of a man come September 😉
Donnie Drake You don't even know how excited I am for that hunt. We don't have to zip the tent all the way closed.
Awesome never give up . Great job. Prayers congrats. Pastor Jonathan Tisdale okc

A lot of the times, the tag only allows a bull. You can't just shoot either or.
The terrain is what would make killing something so worth it, ESPECIALLY with a bow. I guess since you say that any bull is a trophy over there, this is true? Rosies are big dumb slow moving animals....That's why i love hunting them!! :)
Great video! got me even more pumped up to go kill a good Roosie! Or any Roosie I'm living off of beef, September needs to hurry!

Bad shot....make em suffer!
poor shots man!! you need some practice to harvest a life humainly.... don't you even feel for the elk you made suffer?
