OK SO LETS CLEAR UP MY STANCE WITH THE FOLLOWING:
there are better lyrical pens than kendrick. Lupe is the greatest lyricist of all time imo. then theres black thought, em, Royce, Andre 3k, Aesop rock, etc etc etc
BUT... I was talking about the sound of the lyrics being reminiscent of CLASSICAL poetry like Robert frost, Whitman, Edgar Allan poe, Lang huge, Keats, Yeats, etc etc
K dot is not the best lyrical rapper (again thats Lupe imo) but, to me at least, he is the one that uses the most classical techniques when it comes to the poetic structure of his verses for example:
elegies, narrative poetry, long form soliloquies, dissonance to enhance pain, assonance aka slant rhymes, anaphora aka repeating segments of words, etc etc
people are better emcees, but imo, theres no better poet...ESPECIALLY at the level of success k dot has obtained.

I would much rather Kendrick drop occasionally than every year. Otherwise you risk burning out and retiring because you've gotten stuck. But then again, some artists never run out of material because they are constantly mastering their craft. While I agree that I wish Kendrick would drop more, I have to say it's better than him dropping constantly and then burning out which is what your seeing from some of these lyrical artists cause they constantly dropped stuff then rose to popularity and they hit a block. But Cole, Kendrick get the pass because they don't have to drop back to back to back for us to know they're legends. They've solidified themselves, and I'd much rather them drop rarely than risk putting out something they aren't happy with or is not great, hopefully that makes sense lol.

I can't believe Busta's best lines in this song were never even mentioned in this review, I wonder why. TheThirdErnest have a keen eye and ear for details, yet he chose not even mention/highlight those BARS like many other who reviewed this song.....
