Arsenal made a mistake by giving Ozil a £350kpw contract, but you can't say he's not also to blame. If he wants to earn a place on the pitch we need to see evidence of that, can't have the highest paid player on the pitch be a passenger for 50% of games. Even when Auba has a bad game he scores goals, that's what makes him elite, and why he's more than worth £250kpw.
All you who are saying that he's being scapegoated, while the club's treatment of him is not fair, it's also not completely undeserved. He might have been good before lockdown, but can you imagine him playing in the games against Liverpool and Manchester City? Who's place is he taking, and would we have won those games with him in the starting 11?

Your right, Arsenal did make a huge mistake in signing him and the criticism he gets is deserved but I do take your statement that he is a passenger 50% of the to task. This season he has played only 1 game out if 22 where he ws not a passenger and that was the ManU game where he was much better gor him but no where nesr the level he should be at. For that game he was above averagd but not great. When he is missing he is missing unlike Aubameyang who as you stated can and often comes out of now where to pot a goal at a critical time. He is a cancer for this team now and needs to be treated like one.

    @ifyugbeh5852 3 года назад +2

    Big up Don Turkish,
It amazes me how most Arsenal fans feels bad about average players being told to move on or shipped out of the club.
Fans moaning about average players being favourites, picking excuses and asking the coach to give him more time when clearly that player has under-performed, bang average and un-coachable.
Players like Ozil, Guendouzi, Papastathopoulos, Mustafi, Lacazette, Torreira, Maitland-Niles, Kolašinac, Holding, Chambers should be let go because their all-round performance in the pervious season has being extremely below average and that’s why we finished 8th.
In replacement, Arsenal needs players like Saliba, Upamecano, Parety, Coutinho, Willian, Magalhaes, Zaha…to complement players like Aubameyang, Leno, Tierney, Pepe, Martínez, Martinelli, Saka, Xhaka, Luiz, Mari, Nketiah, Smith Rowe, Soares.
Ozil was no where to be found when his teammates are playing an FA cup final against a north London rival side. THIS IS AN FA CUP FINAL !!!
It's ok if he is not included in the team by Arteta because he couldn't make the team due to how other players have done well prior to getting to the final but not present in the stadium to cheers his fellow team mates and club to victory shows his class.
He was supposed to be one of the seniors and one of the captains of the team.
How can such a man be watching his team mates on TV while chilling abroad in a final match he was supposed to be playing if he was that good and meets the coach's requirements ?!!!
Ozil has being in the club for years and one of the respectable idol and face of the club and couldn't be at a stand in the stadium to cheer up his coach, team mates and club to victory against a fellow rival in an FA CUP FINAL!!!
How come while watching the match, I did spot the newly signed players of Chelsea like Timo Werner & Hakim Ziyech who has barely joined were around with their team mates to cheer them to victory!!!
Ozil had a baby. That’s every father dream.
What did Pepe have? Pepe had a baby too and few days later, he did play a huge part to winning the 14th FA cup and qualifying for the Europa league.
Ozil is great at Charity. Most people do including me and for me, it is between me and my God. Charity is a divine sacrifice.
A giver never lacks the blessing of the Most High, God.
Honestly, Ozil was done when the German national team moved on without him...and guess what, Unai got the sack and lost the dressing room when he fell to the pressure of recalling him back into the team....but in Arteta and this current board, there is no hiding spot for Mesut, he will be shipped out. Imagine a struggling team that need inspiration to compete and win matches and the coach had to opt for youngsters in Saka, Willock and Nelson ahead of Ozil to get result!!!
    Such a decision speaks volume!!!
Ozil's playing career in the past 3 seasons has being a nose-diving plane heading for a crash !....you can't compare him with an ambitious player like Alexis Sanchez !!!
His agent, advisers and PR team are indeed making a fool of him and tarnishing his hard-earned reputation.
I still love him as a person and a player who was once an assist-master.
The earlier he moves on to another club (Turkey, USA, China, Belgium, France) and enjoy some few more years in his football career and then seek for a coaching opportunity, the better for him.
From this drama, he might be easily forgotten as an Arsenal great!
    So Sad !!!
    Contract can be re-negotiated.
A player that is not in the plan of the coach can be sent on loan to another club, there can be swap deals for a player believe to have a quality to a position that needs reinforcement and there can be mutual agreement for a contract termination and player paid off.
Players have been clearly told by their coaches or managers that they should start looking for other clubs because they are not in the plans for the up-coming season.
Arsenal fans are one of the club's greatest problem.
Most Fans likes to give so many excuses on players average performance and that's why we are such a laughing stock.
Some fans will be clamoring for the retention of an ill-performing player to stay in the team and after a disappointing match, they pass blames to the Coach, the board and the owner!!!
This is the time for all fans to make a good assessment of all our players in that squad in the last season which we finish terribly in the table and ask the coach and the recruitment dept to ship out those players that have no roles or responsibility, team spirit or positive winning mentality in the squad to seek their career elsewhere!
Sick and tired of watching matches that we are supposed to clearly win, and some players will bottle us to a loss.
Any ambitious club should take a clear hint from Seria A champs, Juventus...after their lost to Lyon in the champs league, coach Maurizio Sarri was sacked the next day and replaced with Andrea Pirlo...and then few days later, a list of players for clear-out sales emerged!!!
Juventus believe that they are way past just being champion of the Italian league, they want to be Champions of Europe !!!
That's what it means to be a RUTHLESS and AMBITIOUS !!!
Last season in review; we won the FA cup and finished 8th and it was a relatively fair achievement considering the situation the club went through with 3 coaches and an average squad.
That is not the Arsenal FC I wanted.
Arsenal should be winning the league, The FA cup and competing very well with the big boys in the champions league!!!
Honestly, the players I will strongly keep at the main team after an assessment of last season performance are
    GK: Leno & Martínez
    MD: Xhaka, Ceballos
DF: Tierney, Luiz, Mari, Soares, Mustafi
FW: Auba, Saka, Martinelli, Pépé and Nketiah
If we can bring in Thomas Parety, Willian Borges, Gabriel Magalhães, Philippe Coutinho, Zaha and welcome William Saliba and Emile Smith Rowe….Arteta will have a better team.
Nelson and Willock should go on loan and their progress must be monitored that they get quality game time.
Please kindly take a good look at the list of players I opted away from the team…. Macey, Bellerín, Papastathopoulos, Lacazette, Torreira, Özil, Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Holding and Kolašinac….and sincerely tell who will make a starting lineup in the top 6 teams currently in the EPL table ??
IF ARSENAL HAVE A MATCH WITH ANY OF THE TEAM IN THE TOP 5 (Liverpool, Man city, Man utd, Chelsea & Leicester) AND YOU ARE ASKED TO COMPLIED A COMBINE STARTING 11…Who in that list of players I opted out will make the lineup?
THIS IS THE REASON WHY WE FINISHED 8TH and Arteta knows that!
I wish I can have a 2 minutes conference call with Coach Arteta, Don Edu and Don Raul.
SIMPLY TO LET THEM KNOW THAT IN THIS TRANSFER WINDOW, ARSENAL FC WILL NEEDS QUALITY AND RUTHLESS PLAYERS THAT WILL DELIVER CONSISTENT ALL-SEASON ROUND PERFORMANCE AND COMPETE FOR TROPHIES !!!
    My sincere thoughts thou....One Luv
    Don Turkish.

Arsenal have limited spending, if players are on £350K and not having significant impact on results that just hurt the club.
Either fans unite and let those players leave the club, and the money used for improvement
      OR
Fans unite and force the club to spend a lot more knowing they would players on big wages doing nothing much
Or just stay divided and keep getting Fucked due to big wages or the board's inadequate commitment for spending.

Tbf he was performing rather well pre-lockdown. But after the Man city and Brighton beating we got Arteta sacrificed his position for an extra defender. So i understand why he's so frustrated. Until Arteta can establish a solid back 4 so that we don't need that extra defender ozil just has to make due on the bench. We shouldn't forget all our centre backs, except for Mari and Saliba are not good enough to play in the Prem, not anymore anyways. So long as we have no quality at the back Ozil does not get in the Squad.

Ozil didn't play in either Man city or Brighton game but you mention it as though the games were a critical factor as to why he didn't play further. He was playing decent enough before lockdown but let's not have short memories. He was sacrificed because of his inability to trackback as well as his lack of intensity - attributes needed in an Arteta team and in the modern game in general.

Ozil refusing to leave doesn't surprise me in the slightest. He's clearly happy not playing and just cashing cheques. That being said the board should never have given him the contract in the first place off the back of a handful of sporadic good performances.

    • @stupotts426
      @stupotts426 3 года назад

@David Smith I think it's slightly different circumstances because auba is the captain and top scorer plus performing like the best player at a club should. Whereas ozil wasn't nearly as worthy of a big new contract and imo split opinion more. But the contract he got was a panic reaction to losing alexis who was at the time the top performer at the club. That's what I think anyway but I get what you are saying about fan pressure because I remember at the time a lot of people saying that we can't let both of them go.

Bruh if arsenal wasn’t such a mess they wouldn’t have been put in a situation where they offered Ozil the amount they did . Let’s be real ! If arsenal let go of Sanchez and Ozil in that season and we finished the way we did we would still be talking about the mistake of letting them both go ! Is that Ozil a fault ? Man secured the bag simple . We all know Arsenal didn’t even back him up when he spoke up about in justice . Yeah he’s not been the best player but we all know what quality’s he has and you want him to fuck up his bag after they threw him under the bus lol if he wasn’t invested in so many charity’s I may understand a bit I see it like he’s taking money from owners who have no care for anyone and using it for the good of mankind and we’re turning on Ozil ? This is what the elite of the world do they stand back while we go for the chosen target . Why we getting mad at a man for securing the bag Stan is a multi billionaire he made this mess ! Yes Ozil ain’t the same as he used to be but who’s leaving a 350 salary for 100 for the good of a club who threw him under the bus lol f that and I’m an. Arsenal supporter

I really don’t understand why Turkish and other fans don’t understand that the real problem is the fucking board trying to force out a player by not playing him and trying to turn the fans against him. Ozil has every fucking right to refuse being forced out and if Arsenal don’t want to play him then it’s on them!
Arsenal fans need to remember it’s Korenke money that Ozil is taking because as you saw with the firing of 55 workers if Ozil left Korenke will take that money and spend it on his 5 billion dollar NFL stadium.

The ozil situation reminds me of isco and james rodriguez at real, they look good on the ball when they play because they have that naturally about them, but why dont they thrive anymore, why top teams are not queueing up waiting for a little opportunity from real to splash the cash hard on them ? people might be letting their romantic attachment to some players bias them it seems, and it seems like a number 10 things guys like riquelme or pastore could be crap for years in a row but people still loved them to bits because of their silky touch in a good day

I got to say Ozil has been Ozil since hes come here. Hes played the same way all his years, with other clubs with one difference. The teams were built around him. Now we may be Arsenal fans and it's our passion but for him it's a job. He didn't grow up loving Arsenal and he's coming to the end of his career. Arsenal gave him the money bottom line why should he want quit - if people were in his position would they? Before the lockdown he was playing and he was showing effort and we were playing better. He turns down the wage cut (good or bad move) but it leaks out and hasn't played since. Who's the other two why hasn't there names been leaked. Seems a bit fishy too me.

If your club dont support, why not leave and join a club that will support you instead of holding the team to ransom? He is arrogant and his contract will end in 12months and Ozil's legacy in Football and at Arsenal will be overshadowed by this controversies. I like his stance on the pay cut. Its pure rubbish for a big club like Arsenal to do that, no other big teams did that and Arsenal is richer than some of this clubs. We all can see that they never have anyone at heart. 55 workers are now gone, where is the 12% cut? What did they use it for? Kroenke Must GO!

Yes, he's feeling sorry for himself and yes, he has let the fans/club down a lot (especially the last 2 years). But, I see no reason why 1) he can't honour his contract 2) he can't come back and fight for his place in the team, he's well within his right to. He's managed to come back into the team several times throughout his time at AFC, so I'm just gonna wait and see what happens.
BTW I want him to go because it's for the best but I can't be mad at him for wanting to stay.

  • @gamezenchill

Mesut should realize that his PR game won't work any more. If he stays for another year without playing, fans will see he's happy to collect his inflated wages. If he loves the club as he says he does, why not do the best thing for the club, leave and allow the club to organize and prepare without being held back by his wages.
Mesut got racist abuse after Germany's failed World Cup run, was a victim of a failed robbery and also spoke of the Uyghurs, so I can somewhat understand his inclination to feel that he's being targeted. I don't know how much truth there is in that. I'm with you Turkish, in thinking that Arteta won't just not play him because of some side-issue. If he's performing on the pitch, he'll probably play. But his performances in the last 3 years have been average. He's not been the same player as he was at Madrid, for a long time now, and the premier league is a different beast. To use whatever little creativity he provides would need us to have a stronger defence behind him, and we haven't had that in a long long time. Which is why he was mostly playing in home games, when we expected to have more possession and time on the ball - which is what he needs. You can't put him in place of the front three, and the midfield with the utterly immobile Xhaka means you need even more defensive cover there. If we can get Partey in for Xhaka, and Torrerira back to his best, with Saliba and another solid defender behind, maybe a slot in midfield opens up for him.
I've hoped we'd get rid of him and Xhaka for around 3 years now. The club screwed up big time by not strengthening the team when we had Alexis. His leaving meant we decided on giving a ridiculous contract to Ozil and we've been regretting that decision ever since. The recruitment done in getting Xhaka and Mustafi instead of Kante was one of the most idiotic decisions made. Even Kolasinac has been mostly a failure.

He knows he is never playing for Arsenal again. Still he won't go to another team even if his total salary is assured, with us paying the balance that his new team can't pay. That just shows he's not interested in football. Wish we extended Sanchez instead of this fraud. At least Sanchez is a real footballer. Moved on to Inter when he became out of favor at United.

Turkish, it's easy to critic someone when you don't walk in his shoes. Ozil's priority, like it or not, is his family. Why would he uproot them to satisfy fickle supporters who only care about wins? Klopp has it right, at the end of the day, what matters most in life is family, not trophies which you can't take with you once your life ends. Speaking of criticism, how would it feel if viewers asked why your channel has only ~23K subscribers and a few thousand views per video? Who knows, who cares... as long as you're enjoying what you do... although from the exterior, it doesn't appear you have much fun doing it.
