    Love the adventure
    What industry by you transported coal? Peacock coal is beautiful.
    Yes, Shelling slows down in summer months; look forward to storms, negative tides or good windy days.
    Aged moon shells are a true gift from the sea.
    Always something to find on the beach: observing wild life, feathers, tumbled stones, sunset or just being.

    • @PlumIslandSeaCabin
      @PlumIslandSeaCabin  2 года назад

      Hi Bonnie! It was the Ipswich Coal Company in the 1800's. There is a large sandbar between Plum Island and Ipswich. When the tides were low, the coal ships would wreck on the sand bar and all the coal would spill into the ocean. It still washes up. I love finding it, but the peacock/rainbow coal is especially beautiful! And yes - you are 100% right. There is always something wonderful to see at the beach.

There is no way I would have been able to knock those shells lose without it! It's also so satisfying to be able to slowly free it. Oh Oh Oh, your going to invest in a rock saw!!! This channel just keeps getting better n better!! I have seen jewelery made with a slice of shell that i thought was pretty, hint. 👀😍 Could do that with rocks too. I watch an old guy who cuts/polishes opal n he has the most humorous personality too, 😃. He has an assistant named shiela, she's a maniquine head, lol. Did you ever check out RB Fossils? He showed an extinct sand dollar that i thought was a sea biscuit but tho it looked simular it wasnt. The extincted one had a pooper expell on top not kn the bottom. Quite fascinating to see, he polished it! Its almost like glass!
    Edit to add: he has channel welks fossilized! At least thats what i think they are.
