  • A couple times a month I play a table top game with a friend that is a turn-based space ship battle game from everyone's favorite space franchise. Official giant "mousepad" game mats are about 40-50 USD. I decided to make my own game board from some MDF and angle aluminum, then added some RGBW light strips to make a nice starfield effect. In practice, it's a little difficult to see in a bright room, but it works and I'm sure it'll get put to use.
    Thanks for watching!

How did you do that lighting effect that sounded like a light saber? I'd like to add a lightening bolt from time to time.

+Wildman Tech Nothing fancy, no after effects or anything. Just some mp3s I found of lightsaber sound effects, and a picture I lassoed the lightsaber out of in Photoshop. Using Premiere Elements, so you can most likely do the same or better with Premiere CS/Pro or Final Cut.
