Still, I loved that 2nd elevator. Pressing two buttons at once seemed to confuse it for a moment, lol. :-)

Not really, it is designed to do that. All the buttons releases at once when the elevator have reached the final floor at one direction!

And the reason it stops for a few seconds is to allow passengers stopping at the first destination floor to exit before it prepares to move again

I previously lived in a building where you had to go up two flights of stairs and down/up another flight of stairs to get to the elevator. It was considered a split level structure so the elevator only served the basement and upper floors . Strange, right?
