I love that, but I feel this version of the song doesn't really make them justice. You can see how many reactors watch this video without continuing the journey. It is good, but not as jaw droppingly good as many of their other videos. Why not suggest one of the Gildehallen videos instead, where you get the whole band experience? 😇
@@eyeball1u Honestly? Because this version of this song hit me hard. I had just fled a domestic violence situation with my kids.. and this became my ‘fight’ song. I know what the lyrics are actually about.. but when listened to from the perspective of someone escaping violence.. it takes on a different meaning. “It’s like a web there is no escape from, it’s got you trapped and you long for freedom, etc etc.” And the power in Katrine’s voice when she does this particular performance, really added to that message for me. So.. regardless of if it is the best song or performance by them, it is the one that means the most to me.. and I was the one paying to see his reaction.. so 🤷♀️
@@eyeball1u I disagree. This performance started my Kalandra journey. After seeing it, I had to see and hear more. And it's still my favorite version. I just love watching Katrine playing the drums while singing. She is so intense.
A lot of people who react to Kalandra start with Brave New World, but their music videos for their songs Borders and Waiting Game are two of the coolest music videos ever and the songs are incredible, especially Borders.
Katrine Stenbekk has a beautiful voice and to my ears is just as good (if without the quirkiness) as her fellow Norwegian Aurora. There is a great live version of this song with the full band including drummer. But for me there is always something special about seeing a female vocalist play an instrument while she is singing. They just look and feel more engaged with the music. You should try their live performance of ‘Slow Motion’ next, which has the full band. And at some point you really must try their brilliant cover of ‘Helvegen’.
