Watching them play this live and feeling that bassline penetrate right into my soul is something I will never forget.

Thom instructed the horn section to “make it sound like your crossing the street through traffic” I think they achieved that. IMHO No rock band uses dissonance as well as Radiohead - it’s their secret Sauce. That plus the layers make all their albums grow and you don’t truly know how you feel about them until you’ve listened 10 or so times. But that investment is always worth it - this is one of 4 perfect Radiohead albums in my opinion.

I don't know if anyone could understand what a shock this album was after OK Computer which had a lot of cool stuff but was still basically a rock album. I can't tell you how much this album pissed me off when it came out. Everybody will tell you that they loved this right away but that wasn't at all what happened this confused a lot of people besides me. I gave them one more shot after this and the next album might actually be weirder so I put them aside for years. Now I like all their albums it just took me some years to get my head around it though.

Kid A is definitely the most experimental album to ever hit number 1 on the Billboard charts. Thom was totally burnt out from touring and had writers block with a guitar, so he demanded they go beyond rock, because he was disenchanted with rock mythology and wanted to avoid that at all costs. It nearly broke the band. Unfortunately for Thom, this damn album only deepens the mythology around Radiohead for the fans.

Spot on. Harks back to Miles Davis’ ‘Bitches Brew’ and Ornette Coleman’s ‘The Shape of Jazz to Come.’ I love it.

I see where you're coming from but I get more Charles Mingus from this than Miles Davis. Subterranean Homesick Alien is more Davis.

Hi from Brazil. You need to react to Yamandu Costa playing "Samba pro Rapha". You will be enchanted by his acoustic guitar technique.

If you haven't already, check out Igor Paspalj. As a guitarist I'm sure you can appreciate his talent.

    A cacophony of sound indeed.
Very experimental and at times jarring.

This was not a great song from them based on your classical guitar playing background, I highly recommend Faust Arp, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, and Present Tense for something more interesting from a classical guitar point of view :)

Please play tracks on a high res streaming platform like Qobuz or others, cause using high quality headphones with youtube videos is a bit pointless i think
