Seeing this in theatres...I swear everyone in the audience came out bonded in a way we were NOT ready for. And it was amazing! 😂 Ollie played all of them the way they went around playing others. An interesting point for me was that he kept making sure to get Farleigh out of the picture without violence and I realized it was for the reason he said during karaoke i.e. "isn't this your song too?" Both him and Farleigh have to beg the family for crumbs, Ollie because they have what he wants, and Farleigh because he no longer has the same wealth as the rest of his family. Farleigh was an inconvenience but not a threat so he didn't have to die. Ollie planned to weasel his way in via Felix who he couldn't help but love and it was only after being exposed that he pivoted to his alternate plan of murder; if he couldn't have Felix, no one could, and if he couldn't have the wealth/status he was going to get THROUGH Felix, then he would get it by eliminating every obstacle. The only one that mattered was Felix who rejected him so what was the point of playing nice anymore, right? Notice how he only gave him the poisoned bottle AFTER the "blood run cold" comment. That was the moment he made his final decision. God, I love this bonkers little film. 🥹
I mean Oliver is definitely the villain of this movie, but Felix and his family werent exactly good guys either. They liked to "collect" lower class people. Think about the way they treated Pamela. They would be nice to her and soon as she would leave the room it would be "OMG, what a bore she is" or they were her mom brushed off her s****** by saying she liked attention. I think even Felix was drawn to Oliver as this poor lost soul that he could put his under his wing. Think about the friend from college who warned Oliver Felix would grow bored of him. Or the way Venetia said he doesnt like to share his toys. They're not really people to them, just playthings for their amusement. Also, this film was gorgeous by the way. I would love it win cinematography at the oscars.
Yes! This movie does a great job of blurring the lines between good and bad. The good people aren't really good and the bad people... well they are terrible, even if they have random good moments. I don't think Felix was necessarily a bad person for example, but a product of his environment. There's some sympathy there for him. Still, you get the impression of what you said above, where he just sort of collects and uses people. Which can hurt someone like Oliver, if Oliver was actually everything that he pretended to be.
I wonder if that's what happened to that guy, he seemed very hostile towards felix and his entourage. He might have been love bombed then thrown to the side like all the others.
let's also appreciate alison oliver because not only did she served but she also gave one of the best performance in this film, her bathtub monologue was masterfully delivered!
@@Junksaintfunny that u call him discount math smith because he is actually in a show with him!!! And they have an interesting dynamic too between their characters! Trueee. Huge respect to Alison Oliver. I enjoyed all the scenes that she’s in and also she’s my fave character same with Elspeth. Amazing actors all of them.
She was mean when she goes onto Oliver’s face too close. That’s something different but true and she’s not alone. It’s a good thing. She has the right to be mean because she spotted him a fake, a killer, and a man eater. She proved herself right. So does Farleigh who spotted Oliver a killer, a fake, and a money leech. Venetia followed Farleigh’s anger like following the footsteps. Farleigh and Venetia are heroically beautiful. I demand Justice for the two. ❤

just finished it. i'm blown away because i TRULY did not think how it would go. at one point i thought Elspeth and her family were vampires, like Edward Cullen types.
Can I just point out that Barry/Oliver literally has chemistry with every single character that he got sexual encounter with. I’m just amazed by it. Not everyone can pull that out.

Just watched this last night. I was not ready for what I watched. What a bizarrely fantastic movie with some fantastic performances and cinematography. Barry Keoghan is a force to be reckoned with.
As weird as it seems, I think that Oliver’s character is slightly relatable because we all know that one person in our lives who is like Felix. The one with the money, popularity, charm and has everything just handed to them. Oliver, having none of these things, develops an obsession because he sees Felix himself as an unattainable fantasy. The movie plays off of that feeling you get when you’re highly attracted to someone, but you don’t know whether you want to be with them, or you just want to be them. Oliver just had the drive to act on this dark obsession.
Except Oliver isn't poor, he isn't as rich as the Catton's but he definitely was not struggling for money. He also, obviously, possesses the ability to be charming and popular given the way he weaseled his way into Felix's family. Of course, none of that was *really* real and was all an act he put on but I think if he really wanted to be popular and charming, he very well could have been. He knew exactly how to appeal to everyone so that he would be able to manipulate them, he made himself into this little poor soul because he knew that would appeal to Felix. He is just as obsessive as he is manipulative.
I loved this video. You showed just enough of the movie so someone who has seen it could just recap and enjoy it again with some fun and witty comments. I was just as surprised as you guys (and probably everybody else) at this movie. Felt like i was watching it again with some friends. Big love❤😊
You guys. This is a fantastic reaction. Well done! I really felt like I was watching it all over again for the first time. And (as always) an incredibly timely upload.
When Oliver's mother said," Your father's in the garden." I thought for a moment she meant he was buried in the backyard. Very much enjoyed your reactions to "Saltburn." Now you need to watch "Something For Everyone" a dark comedy from 1970 (yes boys I'm that old.) It stars a young Michael York and the fabulous Angela Lansbury as a countess with a castle. Michael covets her castle, wealth and status and soon worms his way into & thru her staff, herself, her daughter and...her son! He gets it all in the end, so to speak, at a price.😜😘🌈
“Oh he’s wanting a UTI, that’s what he’s digging for” 💀 In my opinion, this is one of the best films of the year. And my personal favorite of 2023. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a contender at Oscar time. Knockout performances, a script and story that constantly keep you guessing, the cinematography, the actual script language and the actors dialogue, the filming locations, the fckng fearlessness of this picture, it’s director and especially it’s lead cast (Barry Keoghan’s flawless and truly bad ass performance blew my mind 🤯), it possesses the rarest thing in all of cinema: it has it all. 🤷🏼♀️ This film is spectacular, special, and destined to be a classic. I absolutely loved it. It may be a period piece set in the mid 2k’s, but it’s brash, pushing the limits style reminds me so strongly of the brave, bold cinema of the 70’s, (when films like Taxi Driver, American Gigolo -made in 79 but came out in 1980-, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Last Tango In Paris, Play Misty For Me, The Tenderness Of Wolves, A Clockwork Orange, The Beguiled, were white hot and testing the limits of just how far a movie could go, breaking new cultural ground w/ fearless filmmaking in ways never seen before), where the filmmakers and actors of that generation really came into their own, and were wholly unafraid to give us gritty, even ugly storytelling; with woven, layered, diabolical storylines, thriller style mystery, ulterior motives and violence, obsession and slowly unwinding and ever escalating mayhem, even unusual kinks and brash nudity, profoundly disturbing (and disturbed 😂) dysfunctional characters with seriously dangerous personality disorders, unapologetic antiheroes, and absolutely amazing music. This film may be from 2023; but it’s soul clearly belongs to the 70’s. ❤ Yes Barbie is great. Bottoms was tres cool. Talk To Me was chilling AF. Oppenheimer was impressively ambitious. VHS 85 was a bloody good time. And there were some good, fun films this year. However, this film is in a whole other league. It’s about time someone took a big swing of controversy this year, and finally, after 12 months, it happened 😂this movie is truly an incredible piece of filmmaking. Bold, brave, and absolutely brilliant. Edit: the only innocent character in this film was Carey Mulligans character; all the rest of them were fare fckng game. 😂🤷🏼♀️
Loved re-watching this movie with the two of you and I’m so glad you mentioned the comparison to the talented Mr. Ripley. I’m currently watching Ripley on Netflix and it is so good and re-watching this movie now I was thinking the same thing!
You're reactions were priceless! I saw it in the theatre and I couldn't wait for it to be streaming, because I seriously needed to see it again. It's a really good, really well done, well acted twisted ass movie, but I'm here for it! You guys mentioned "The Talented Mr. Ripley", that's actually a favorite of mine, there definite similarities in the characters for sure. I don't know if either of you had read the book, Jude Law's character and Ripley actually have a full blown relationship, you get an implication that something happened between them in the movie, which in its time was about all you could do in a mainstream movie. "Ripley's Game" with John Malkovich was interesting, Ripley is older but still up to no good! Again, fun reaction!
I had to go watch this movie last night so I could watch this video lol. You guys should check out the movie "Scary Stories To Tell in the Dark", Jacob Elordi has a storyline in that movie and he's fantastic. I had to pause the movie to look up who plays that character, and its Jacob Elordi. Just beautiful.
I think the family knew oliver was playing with them and they reciprocated, but they only realized what he was once felix "died". And because of their trauma they let him pick them one by one. They even gave him each other's weaknesses. The mother and daughter were most likely abused when younger, the dad is in denial of everything, felix and farleigh are users, they're all broken and acting like scared children.
I think the reference to the mother being repulsed by facial hair because of something to do with her father was maybe suggestive that she was abused by him.
@@cullenarthur8879 exactly I was shocked that felix would mention it so carelessly not realizing what he's divulging to a stranger. He could have said it's the house rules without explaining, it just shows how oblivious he is.
@@user-dx2dm8oq8g I also think you're right about them knowing what he is, especially the father. The part after the daughters death where the father pulls him into the office and asks him straight forward what it will cost to get rid of him shows that he knows that he's a parasite. Whether or not he knows the extent of his plotting is doubtful, but he knows that he's not just a well intentioned friend there for support.
Well, James is denial, Elspeth and Venetia were abused, Felix is a user, Farleigh and Pamela were broken and scared to be removed, and Oliver treated them as puppets.
If you’re going to do ANY show PLEASE do queer as folk. At least the first one. And you have to do the dvd version. The tv version doesn’t have the original music and you NEED that especially for the club scenes.
How can you not have seen Euphoria?!! You need to watch AND react to it posthaste! That said: I just watched Saltburn (finally) 2 days ago & I’m pretty fucking stoked for this reaction! 🖤🖤🖤
I love this movie ❤❤❤ No wonder Barry Keoghan is picked to be The Joker in The Batman. He was unhinged in Saltburn with a combination of erotic, sexy, and disturbing. The ending will forever stay in my mind.
I don't think inheriting Saltburn was part of the master plan. I honestly think getting close with Felix was the master plan that absolutely went wayyyyyyy too far and turned into something much more sinister.
What??! No way... I just randomly watched this yesterday and died dead. It was so good. And daddy Elordi... 🫠👀 Also, yes react to Euphoria, so much yes.
I just freaking adore you both! I loved that movie and Olli and Felix are both giving me the feels. But seeing you react and seeing your friendship makes my heart warm up! Love you guys!!!
Oliver and Farleigh's chemistry caught me off guard.
They would be such a maliciously toxic and chaotic couple. And I'd be there lapping up their insanity the whole way.
Yup I was definitely not expecting that scene to be so hot 😅

Euphoria had me gagged, it was a tea overload in the best and worst way
YES! 🎉 you should absolutely react to Euphoria. I can’t imagine you not getting massive views for that reaction!! Love you both! ❤
If you’re going to do ANY show PLEASE do queer as folk. At least the first one. And you have to do the dvd version. The tv version doesn’t have the original music and you NEED that especially for the club scenes.
Yesssssss ❤
emerald fennel knows how to make a fucking movie
One of my fav reaction videos to "Saltburn"!!! I just Love Y'all ❣️!! 😊
Saltburn is The Talented Mr. Ripley on steroids.
Going into this have already eatched this their reaction to the beginning having no idea what there getting themselves into was hilarious
Yes please!!! React to Euphoria!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 the patch would be so so happy! Happy holidays!!! ❤
NEVER SEEN EUPHORIA?! That show is MADE for a Petty Pumpkins review!
The bath tub scene will haunt me for the rest of my life. 😑
I watched this twice in theaters and it still wasn't enough, so happy I get to watch y'all freak out like I did >:)
So funny ppl watching this movie like was a romance in the begining 😂
How can you not have seen Euphoria?!! You need to watch AND react to it posthaste! That said: I just watched Saltburn (finally) 2 days ago & I’m pretty fucking stoked for this reaction! 🖤🖤🖤
It’s a MUST to watch euphoria please give us the reaction to both seasons 🙏🏻
I love this movie ❤❤❤ No wonder Barry Keoghan is picked to be The Joker in The Batman. He was unhinged in Saltburn with a combination of erotic, sexy, and disturbing. The ending will forever stay in my mind.
I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU TWO!! I HAD A GREAT TIME!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
We must remedy the “hasn’t seen the ring” situation asap! 😂❤
I don't think inheriting Saltburn was part of the master plan. I honestly think getting close with Felix was the master plan that absolutely went wayyyyyyy too far and turned into something much more sinister.
Agree with this take!
What??! No way... I just randomly watched this yesterday and died dead. It was so good. And daddy Elordi... 🫠👀
Also, yes react to Euphoria, so much yes.
The Farleigh Sequel is ON AND READY!
Hope this works!
Fingers Crossed or Pray! ❤
the 'what de fuck' at 21:21 got me rolling xD
Y’all NEED to watch Elordi’s performance in Euphoria. Never knew I could HATE him so much. At the same time appreciate his acting so much.😮
The number of times I said, "Y'all aren't ready for what's about to happen..." while watching this reaction.
Excellent film and performances.
Completely agree!
This movie is honestly just 2 hour propaganda of Jacob Elordi and I'm not mad at it
I just freaking adore you both! I loved that movie and Olli and Felix are both giving me the feels. But seeing you react and seeing your friendship makes my heart warm up! Love you guys!!!
Not the UTI after fertilizing the grave garden 😂
Loved the “well you smoke now” because almost every friend I have that smokes cigarettes only does it cause of a hot crush 😂😂😂
Good on Farleigh! He was punished but because of that he got out alive!
You are so funny guys ! I love you so much... Take care and love from France. 💖 Keep going.
The salt is burning
Sales of bathtubs skyrocketed after this
I would LOVE to see you reaction to Euphoria ❤
