Also I think Felix was a genuinely good person too, even after he discovers Oliver is lying, he doesn't tell Oliver's or his own parents and still wants Oliver to have his birthday party. He also notices how hard Oliver's parents try for him so he makes Oliver stay for the dinner they prepared.

I feel like you missed a lot if you think Felix is good. Its implied that Felix and his family always bring “the less fortunate” home as a charity case but its actually for their own entertainment. Its made clear with Pamela how they throw them out when they tire of them. He lets the party go on because it would be embarassing to tell everyone that he got lied to. As for the interaction with his parents, Felix was trying to make Oliver sit in the uncomfortable situation as a way to punish him. No one in the movie is a “genuinely good person” imo.

I loved this movie. The cinematography was so beautiful, the acting, the direction, my gods. The last shot makes SO much sense to me - the moment when he is utterly, entirely himself - no clothes, no pretensions, shedding his old life like clothes dropping to the floor. Absolutely psychopathic creature he is, I think it was totally in his character to dance naked as a huge fuck-you to the upper class too. Like a 'see, now I'm putting my **** on everything you hold sacred and dear'.

  • @82evene

The fact Farleigh got away alive (pretty much the only one), is just so weird and yet so tale telling. Its not that Oliver ever liked him, but he wasn't in Felix's class. He wasn't his prey. And he actually really cared. The family made it pretty clear that just as the mother, Felix used to have a 'project', a toy for entertainment. And that Oliver was just one of them. When Pamela dies, Oliver realizes it the strongest maybe. Whereas Farleigh was actually really passionate about these people. He cared. Or maybe Oliver's means only grew more extreme. The tear he's crying when he kissed the sister in the tub and knows sex won't get him out of it this time, its like he knows what he has to do and yet feels sad about it.

If you like Jonathan Bailey you should watch fellow travelers.
It's the love story of Tim (Jonathan) and hawks (matt bomer)
    It's an amazing series

The thing I love about this movie is that, even though I was in a constant state of distress for at least the second half, it is a GENIUS movie. The writing, the filmography, the acting is all so well done that I couldn’t help but hang on to every minute of it
Also the mom is so out of pocket, she’s definitely one of my favorite characters 😂😂

On first glance you feel the need to protect the outsider boy and feel disconnected to the things he does you normally felt questionable. But it always is a demonstration of dominance and slowly but surely the feeling about the innocent boy shifts. And as it goes to show, he didn't need a rescue, oh no. True, the grossy parts maybe felt over the top and unnecessary, but they drew out his character even more.

You NEED to watch "Promising Young Woman"! It has Pamela (15:06) in the leading role and is also directed, written and produced by Emerald Fennell (like Saltburn).
Ps.: Britney Spears' Toxic is the main track lol

I, too, live for movies like this! You're the only person besides myself that once you pay attention to it, I immediately fell in love with this movie! I liked it the first time I saw it, when I payed attention to it the second time, I thought "BRILLIANT " ! The scenes that are considered gross, speak to the obsession or obsessions more so!

I loved the movie, it's really bold and I'm here for that! Bravo, Emerald Fennell and kudos to the whole cast and crew, they did amazing! I like when we really feel things watching movies, good or bad but that's a gift of the movies.
