    This was my favorite period of Tigran's music. I got to see him play at one of the four shows he had at UIikhanyan Club a month or so before which had a shadow puppet show about corrupt priests, etc., intense synths over fantastic solo folk ballads and was a fantastic, packed intimate show. The Opera show in October was also great. He was giving master classes all around the city often focused on rhythm and came out to support a protest over the Afrikyan building demolishing that summer.
    In addition, anything Usta Norayr is involved in also makes it a million times better.

      Might have been a minor oversight on Tigrans part lol! Or a deliberate prank perhaps? All the musicians we're laughing too lol if there's anything that can fuck up your rhythme it's 100s of people clapping at weird pulses

      @@cornela1 to be fair most of Tigran's rhythms seem like deliberate "pranks" that deceive your ears

      @@dadur thank you so much! Surprised to see that they're pretty cheap. Might have to try getting one when I have a 100 bucks to throw around!
      It sounds really beautiful dry (without effects) too. I'm sure it's a bitch to play tho, every wind instrument I've played took me a few minutes just to get a note out.

    • @levonhakopian

      It's not a duduk, it's a zurna

    • @cornela1
      @cornela1 3 года назад

      @@levonhakopian Thank you for responding. I'm having a difficult time figuring out if it's a Zurna of Duduk. The Duduk looks more like what the guy is playing in the video (and is also in the description), but when I search for examples of the instruments, the Zurna sounds more like it. The Zurna however on google images and in video examples all have the round trumpet looking part at the end, while the Duduk seems to be thin and 'flat' (like a flute). In the video the dude seems to have a flute looking instrument which reminds me more of the Duduk. Then again it's kinda hard to see in this video..
      Based purely on sound, the RUclips examples I found of the Zurna sounded more like the Tigran performance, the Duduk seems to sound a bit more smooth and less piercing. The artist page for Norayr Kartashyan says he plays both the Duduk as the Zurna.. which doesn't help at all :p

    If duduk was not there, probably I wouldnt like this video, even though I am a big fan of Tigran's every note :) put some more authentic instruments and melodies, we are dying for it :)
