So one of the interesting things about the Ronan helmet is that it comes with modular detachable plates so while there are some parts that need to stay where they are for functionality purposes, you could theoretically make plates that stand higher calibers and replace the weaker removable modular pieces

If tarkov has taught me anything, it's that this helmet is expensive as all hell and you can still die wearing it 😄
Basic physics says that the bullet will accelerate for the lebgth of the barrel plus whatever distance beyond that the compression wave can still accelerate the bullet. Most .44's have at least a 4" barrel and for the heavier bullet weights have at least 1000 foot-lbs of force at target. The mask is unlikely to have more than 1/2" of free space behind it, so all the acceleration imparted in the barrel and chamber will be expended in that 1/2". Assuming that the bullet comes in perpendicular to the center of mass of the mask, you might survive, but you might actually be a vegetable for the rest of your life. Volunteers speak louder than writers.
In tarkov this helmet is shit meanwhile an altyn (which is about its equivalent irl and is way heavier) can stop 7.62 BP

This helmet has been around for a while now and it has almost no practical use in war. I mean, think about it. Even in Afghanistan where there isnt a massive military force (relatively), most soldiers are carrying large calibers in rifles or mounted machine guns. That helmet can only stop a 44 magnum. Maybe if someone broke into your house and you had an extra 30 seconds to dawn it you could find some use with it. but most wars nowadays arent even fought on the ground by soldiers, futuristic movies would be boring if they portrayed the reality of modern war. 3 ppl press a button and a whole country blows up the end

@@JoshuaaMS Not that the caliber of the bullet actually matters here (since having a larger diameter does not increase penetration force, quite the opposite), but also, the 7.62 is a .30 caliber round, and 5.56 is basically 22 caliber.
@@peshka96024 Actually this helmet seems like it would do more harm than good. Visibility and mobility are very important and this looks like it loses out in both of those categories. The protection also seems like a waste because it’s wont stop the main ammunition used by the enemy and would make your head a bigger target. It would probably get claustrophobic as well and you’d likely wish you didn’t have to wear it for hours. Sorry man, but even though it looks cool it just doesn’t look very practical.
It might be used in special forces. Your view is already impaired during night missions. Heavy calibers aren't the only threat. Shrapnels from artillery and grenades are particularly relevant in Ukraine. One advantage for future use is the option for battle management system integration. When you add AR or drone surveillance to the view, the limited scope doesn't matter as much. I think it's just a question of how well a soldier adapts to the potential deorientation. The same has been said about tanks from the beginning.

@@RayBarK1 I think there are three strike faces on the helmet that are actually rated to stop a .44, it's definitely not the entire mask. Better than nothing I suppose and good for intimidation factor but it's not 100% protection. There is actually an upgraded version of this with a full helmet and likely offers better all-around protection but it doesn't look as cool, so nobody reviews it.

I mean, its pretty accurate. Out of all possible Scenarios of headshots, this helmet would probably prevent you to die in 10-20% of the cases. Which is good, but of course there is no 100% protections.
It will only protect against angled shots too. Any perpendicular shot center mass of the head with .45 Magnum (Or any rifle round above 5.56) will kill you because of the concussions to the brain and spine, doesn't matter if it actually penetrates the helmet or not.
Not gonna lie, it reminds me of the gears of war blue cog soldier helmets. Which also reminds me of the Carmine Family’s family tradition of dying.

They actually made a prototype level III and level IV helmet face mask. Though I’m sure they quickly realized it’s probably just as deadly as not wearing it. All the deformation and what not.
