@bkstandard882 BSIT is a great degree and you’ll get IT jobs with it. I just have IT Management there instead because it’s faster/cheaper degree to get and you can still get all the same jobs if you add the certs yourself.
Your videos have been very helpful for those of us navigating the decision to go back to school, what to focus on and choosing the right school. I appreciate the time you've put into them and feel prepared to make an informed decision going forward.
Great video. I just finished a BSBA ITM degree at WGU and I'm trying to decide on a Masters program now, your video added a new perspective and I appreciate that
@tasneemahmed1660 i received a promotion at my current role once I was near completion for my bachelors, currently navigating multiple interviews and awaiting another promotion. It's worth it, don't get discouraged , you got this.
I can confirm cybersecurity is the toughest field to break into, even if you have a bachelor's degree and certifications. Unless you already have experience, you'll likely have to start with an IT Help Desk job or something very entry level like that
Woah......pardon me as a Ghost adventures nerd, but was that an insect or an orb at around 3:44?? FANTASTIC video, thank you! You mentioned nursing and I agree the FNP and others are awesome. If a person is looking for a career change or new career, Respiratory Therapy is a fantastic choice. WGU does not have a degree in this (now they are mostly BA). I have been an RT for over 40 years and the field is great, ESPECIALLY in a smaller hospital if you have experience. They pay a lot more and the work is more satisfying because you can actually be a Therapist based on care rather than volume!! Again, WGU does not have a degree in this, but it is a great consideration, too! RT's with RRT and 10+ years experience can make 140K on the traveling therapist gigs. I also got a bachelor's in Management and am working on my accounting degrees so I have an easier physical degree to do well into my 80's hopefully!
100% agree. With the NBRC leaning towards making Respiratory a Bachelors program a WGU program may not be far off (2030's?). My experience with RT is that its great for more RIGHT brained people, thus a great option for those not cut out for university like i was.
Currently working on my Masters in Data Analysts at WGU, 3 months in and I'm on my 7th class. Hoping to finish under 6 months. I work for the government we have plenty of Analyst jobs I just need this degree to make the transition.
@@alexsheppe no class has taken me over 2 weeks, but I've been putting in a lot of hours. I really like that every class besides the 1st one is project based instead of an exam. I'm not a fan of exams. Every class felt pretty easy till the 5th was a bit of a jump. 6 & 7 are easy. 8 looks like an extension of 7. Not sure about the last 3 yet. I'll provide an update once I graduate.
Thank you I really appreciate your thoughts on the different degrees and what jobs could be potentially available- I was deciding between software engineering and computer science my goal is to finish the computer science degree a fast as I can and then start an accelerated bsn program so , the goal is to be in school for no more than 2.5 year and to obtain both bachelors - right now I’m torn between tech be nursing so why not both ! Then I can decide later lol
This helps alot! Just got laid off from my graphic designer job and I'm sick of it (4th layoff in 6 years) I figure now is the time to completely pivot to something else I'm considering Cybersecurity or SWE.
I’m working on getting better at this. Although the downside of this is if enough people only watch a small portion of your video, youtube will stop showing it to people.
Do you think a CS degree with a Masters in analytics is a good partnership? I also have a finance degree but im thinking just tech is that a good pair?
I am currently accounting student at SNHU and have been thinking about switching to CS. Wondering why YOU made the switch. Any thoughts on WGU over SNHU for CS? Great video!! Thanks
I’d always choose WGU over SNHU. As far as I’m aware, SNHU doesn’t allow course acceleration? I made the switch because I’ve always been a hobby coder, and I was doing Accounting to start my own business, but you don’t need a degree for that
What is your take on Health Information Technology? Also I’m either going to choose SNHU or WGU but everyone is saying that WGU has proctors and no deadlines if you need structure whereas , SNHU provides structure/deadlines and offer more project/essay no proctors.
My school has a bachelor of business administration and it also has it with a human resource concentration. It also has a bachelor in Human Resources Management, which would be the best in your opinion?
Hi I’m currently in cybersecurity, do you think it better to switch to computer science or SE ? I love cybersecurity but I’m afraid of employment opportunities when im done
I’m trying to decide between a data analytics degree or a computer science degree. I’ve taken a couple of statistics classes, and that kind of math makes sense to me. However, I know the computer science requires calculus and is more math heavy. Any advice on whether I should go for a data analytics degree, or a computer science degree if math is not my strong suit?
I’d aim for Computer Science. Calculus is manageable on Sophia or StraighterLine, even if you are not that good at Math. Although I’d take most of my non-math courses on Study.
Calculus is not very difficult. I have an engineering degree, and my regular math classes were always the easiest. I took a "statistics for engineers" class and found it harder than any of my calc or differential equations classes. If you do decide to go that route and have trouble with calc (if you have a bad teacher, like me), professor Leonard on youtube is an amazing teacher and his videos follow along perfectly with the classes you'll take in college.
So information technology is not worth it? I legit am enrolled in ASU school of fulton engineering for BS in IT and discovered WGU and am thinking about getting their IT BS. Wrong move?
great video. I'm debating what to do after my da degree. mba, ms da or go to Georgia tech for ms da. Also want to do finance and psychology just because, lol.
HI AND ONE QUESTION ❓ ALL THE PEOPLE THE GRADUATE FOR WGU THE RECOGNIZED IF YOUR DEGREE IS LEGITIMATE , IN TEXAS OR WHEREVER STATE. AND ALSO THE FOUND JOBS EASILY OR HAVE A HARD TIME TO FIND JOB. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND 😊

Correct. You can do the RN to BSN in 6 Months pretty easily. Although the Pre Licensure BSN is gonna take around 2 years 4 months. Although, still a year and a half faster than other colleges.
Any of the tech degrees have a ton of remote jobs, especially Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing. None of the tech fields are easy to break into, maybe Data as a Data Analyst.
Economies go in cycles, I wouldn’t worry about layoffs too much. Plus a lot of the layoffs were a bit exaggerated because of youtube, you have to realize a lot of these Software Engineers are trying to do youtube full time, and a lot of them voluntarily chose to be part of the layoffs to collect unemployment and do youtube.
That’s great! But if you’re in America, school is super expensive.. classes are between $1500 to $3000 each depending on the University. I would love to go to school to just learn with no job intentions, but so expensive!
@alexsheppe You're right. In some places, education can be very expensive. Anyway, in my previous comment, I missed a key word: just. What I meant to say was, "I don't go to school JUST to make money." You see, I am a lifelong learner. So, for me, the making money part is the desired output of investing in one's education.
