Do you separate the fender from the cf once cured or is it just stay on the stock fender? Id like to make my own too but i want to cut weight for a track car not for street.
In order to separate it you need to do this same stuff but basically more steps. Apply a release agent on the fender before you put down the black gel coat. Second, you need to do 2-3 layers of carbon fiber, making the weave go in different directions so there is strength in every direction.

not carbon fiber wouldv been better to keep it shinny and use pva release and mold them
you should have a mask on so you don't damage your lungs breathing in carbon dust. 👍
