This man is VERY intelligent... My god, this guy is intelligent. I actually never thought this guy was this intelligent - even from his spectacular lyrics - until I saw this interview. I have a huge amount of respect for this guy. I always liked him, but my god I love this guy now. Damien is a very open person, and I find it very hard to find find any flaw in his philosophy or logic. Him, and Jeff Buckley are easily in my list of biggest influences ever, and not just musically.
He is actually right on. I love his comments about truth, learning, and knowing. It is like Jiddu Krishnamurti said, "Truth is a pathless land". The moment we think we know truth is when we have ceased to explore...ceased to learn.

Very true, we human beings, sometimes, take for granted so many blessings we have. I enjoyed the example of the air that we breathe, and from this example we can go on and on with all the little blessings that we have like life and heart beats, our teeth, and digestion, and so on.

When he talks about hopes for a new millenium filled with peace and openness and how he wrote about it in 1998, I came to a realization. I was born in 1998, and I share many of the same views he does. Lots of people born that year and every year do. Although it's against the natural path of life for everyone to achieve peace, theres always going to be people who strive for it, no matter what age. And that's all we can do-- strive for it.
it's funny he mentionned that, earlier today i had a convo with a friend who doesn't like/listen to Wagner's music because to her, he's an antisemite and that ruins his whole work as a composer & there was no way to make her change her mind about that so i said to myself, it's sad how some people limit their possibilities in life just because they're convinced they "know" & then i watched this & he kind of put into words what i thought, it's actually overwhelming, got to love Damien Rice !

i love when people call people out for not believing in heaven like hes a bad person. funny cuz damien rice, dave matthews, and others are all extremely rich, yet they all donate back and make the world a better place. you need to reevaluate your look on people

Well considering you are Swedish and i am irish and know what a Kildare accent is as well as knowing that he grew up there constitutes that it is a kildare accent.
this is what i struggle with. i have personal beliefs that remain as such, however, i feel betrayed when people who follow the word of God, judge those who do not. This is a hypocrisy i cannot stomach. I can never question curiosity. i think also that sometimes religion is used as a method of mass control.
i think u toke that wrong, he doesn't just have some perfect life and think this is heaven, i think he's saying maybe we should stop complaining about what we have or don't have, and stop expecting that we'll be in heaven some day and everything will be perfect, instead maybe this is heaven, and we have everything we possibly need here to have heaven..
noone asked you to listen...this isn't a lecture, so why are you treating it like one they asked him, because they wanted to know more about him - it's about him he wrote the songs for himself, we as fans choose to listen, but noone forced us

Also, the Bible does kind of say the only way is through Christ, and makes the assumption that it's the only true religion... ahem... "relationship"...
Jesus, invade his life with your love. You long for him to feel your love. Believe me, I would never keep seeking Jesus if I didn't experience Him. I would die for you all to feel the love I've felt after searching for Jesus. It makes the world boring. Religion sucks. Religion is fake and cultish. But there is a man who loves you more than anything and He wants to be in relationship with you. I wouldn't try to spread fake religion around. But love this good is impossible not to share.

Those who don't know Christ have darkened reasoning. It is only by the light of Christ that we are even free to truly begin thinking. This makes me sad, but I'm used to the world's buffet philosophy. I'll have a bit of this and a dash of that. In the end, we make ourselves our own God's, no matter how much we think it through.

But Christianity at it's core is inherently different from all other religions...in that it is not a religion at all! Jesus came to do away with religion. Religion says: do this list of things to get right with God, or achieve peace, or nirvana or whatever...It's a about YOU saving YOURSELF. Christianity is about already being saved!
My mother was Christian, my father was muslim. Believe me, all abrahamic religions (Christianity, judaism and islam) are all basically the same. I've read all of them. The point of the sculptures is the same
