The things that Gabriel García Márquez says in that book are not fiction here, in the colombian caribbean coast. Here you'll always find people that will tell you stories like those.
As a man of mixed Latino heritage I loved this man. I read Cholera first and it's my favorite, though One Hundred Years was read later and, well . . . he deserves these accolades.
Marquez ,a legend writer.Latin America is the holy land of football and revolution.Marquez is a gift of Latin America for entire world. His lot of books have Malayalam translation(Kerala in India)...Hithesh,Kerala,India...'UNIVERSAL ARROW'
I came to know about this in 1984. This book was published in Spanish. The president of India read this book in Spanish well before it was translated in English. There is a mention of Fiedel Castro. There is a sentence "no body has died here", what it means. After a lapse of 38 years I am going to read it. There is no internet copy available to download.
At first I thought his book was horrible! The morals, the incest, the horrid scenes of mass destruction. Then I did a research paper on the book and started comparing real life events to the scenes in the book. This man was a genius and while I don’t love the book fully, I can’t deny the genius of Gabriel Marquez Garcia in the use of historical events in this book.
One of the slowest reads of my life
kept setting the book down to marvel at what I had just read
"Death didn't matter to him..life did..." The best book I have ever read...
I tend to agree - to some extent. Did you read Master and Margarita by Bulhakov?
@@nicku1 First time hearing about at, Thanks. Will try it.
@@nicku1 I have read it. Fantastic Laugh riot, as well as lots to think about in it.

I started reading 100 years of solitude like a week ago, as a colombian, I must definetely read the most important book of my country's literature.

It is hard to imagine such imaginative and compelling and innovative writing can come from one brain.

"la Mala Hora!!!"❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Nobel Prize is awarded for a body of work over years, not a single piece of work (like the Pulizer).
False
Great writer
Amazing book but names of the character r so tough to understand easily. Specifically Ursula, a mother character was tremendous
How many know that he intended his masterpiece as a comic work?
I read 100 years of solitude when I was 15. Thanks to my teacher....
I was named after him
That’s tight
RIP!

He mattered as much as his books. Selah.
