Pedro Páramo by the Mexican writer Juan Rulfo is one of the masterpieces of Latin American literature, it is considered the novel that inaugurated the literary subgenre of "Magical Realism in Latin America". Juan Rulfo's work finally gave me the path I was looking for to continue with my books,” Colombian Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez confessed in an interview.
That was an inspirational speech, I learned more about Latin Culture and Magical Realism. Taking my problems and turning them into Art, is something I will definitely do. Thank you, even though this was an assignment from my English 1C class to watch this video I am glad that I did.

Belen Aguilar yeah but as shown in magical realism there are multiple levels or aspect of reality some as which isn't obvious and you didn't even know was even possible, probable and was even real thing that exists and also magical realism Isn't only form of literature that can do that so do southern Gothic literature, metafiction, suburban Gothic literature, urban Gothic literature, southern Ontario Gothic literature,Lovecraftian horror literature,Cosmic horror literature, dystopian literature as well.
This speaker keeps using the word 'absurdity' without giving examples. Can anybody give me some examples so that I don't have to start guessing and probably getting it wrong?
Some examples of the absurdity of Latin America could be one time where a man claimed he was a vampire and got surgery to turn his teeth into fangs. He changed his bed for a coffin and started to sleep inside of it. Also, he stopped going out on day and only at night. He then claimed he had a dream where a clown arrived and kill his vampire personality. He is a real man and now lives dedicated to be a clown at children's parties. This is one example. Hope it gives a clearer idea.

This pandemia has shown certain fibers of society that result absurd to me: there's a lot people, here in Mexico, that still doesn't believe in Covid, even one old famous acress wrotte some _absurd_ claims in twitter, there was one fumigation center that was attacked by the community, because they believed they were spreading Covid, and there's other cases I think. In terms of public security we're living very _absurd_ times too. Really, is insane what we pass for "normal" where I live. There's some stories . . . But anyways I'm digressing. Awesome!! Great presentation!!
Beautifully said!
Through this video, I understood what magical realism actually is, how it emerged and what was the purpose of it.
It brings me great joy to know I was able to express that, thank you very much!

@@andresf.hermida5529 Hey i was wondering what the central idea of your topic would be ?
Why is he speaking English? This is in Cali Colombia... so what’s the point of this? Everybody speaks Spanish there.
English is the first language on earth, maybe there were foreigners or they simply wanted it to have more reach to different cultures.
This presentation isn't for his home town. He's selling his soul
