Any tips on which restaurants and bars to go to in Niseko? I'm a bit sad we couldn't try more restaurants because we had dinners included in our hotel reservation 🥲 Next time 🤞
Lots of Videos on Niseko (Hirafu) this is definitely one of the better ones. Have skied Hirafu every year since 2006 except for Covid19. Very good coverage of some of the better venues.
hi! can i know how far the hotel was from the ski resort? thinking to book that hotel but i’m scared that we have to lug our skis to the ski resort…and how beginner friendly was the ski resort?
It's super close to the lifts but they even had some kind of a transport service and pickup included in the price if you're feeling lazy! The same car will take you to and pick you up from the train station. Insanely convenient! I'm not really a beginner even if you see me struggling here quite a bit, it's just that I'm not amazing compared to Rory. I think there were some super beginner friendly slopes close to Hilton. Can't remember exactly whether there were green slopes next to this hotel. But if this place is within your budget would 100% recommend it!
You’re welcome! I actually have tried snowboarding a couple of times but I’m just far more used to skiing. Would probably help with the constant sinking though 😄
hi!! did you rent the equipment? im struggling about how to plan the equipment rental and lift in advance. Was it easy to get it on the same day? thanks ☺
No we didn't! But I think there are many rental options and we could've rented skis for example from our hotel without reservations. Lift passes you can book online - simply google and you'll find it! I think we still needed to get our passes from a machine close to the lifts. Very easy though!
Thanks for creating this video @Olivia! I am going to surprise my amazing girlfriend with two tickets to Japan on Christmas day, so that we too can enjoy all of that amazing powder. I wasn't sure which mountain to choose from (there are so many), but this video was descriptive, helpful and is probably, now, the location we will pick. So, thanks for showing us around. Super grateful! 🤜💥🤛 Also, I too thought that Rory was a girl until he spoke 🤭(apologies Rory). I just wanted to share a friendly piece of advice to you mate - it might be nice to flash a smile every now and then! Olivia's enthusiasm in the video was infectious, and it would be great to see you share in that excitement a bit more (you're on holiday for god sake!). 🤣It would certainly add even more charm to your already wonderful videos. Keep up the great work, both of you!" 😊🎥🏔
Hahah! Rory is a bit shy on camera I feel - if you actually were to meet him in person his talkative and jokey personality would come across a lot more. So happy to hear that the video was helpful on figuring out your travel plans! And what a special Christmas gift ☺️ I hope you’ll make some amazing memories together 🫶
Yes it is! And yes we did! You can access the whole mountain from hirafu, but I feel like hirafu + the one on the right of hirafu (when looking at the ski map) were the best. We did one day when we had lift passes for the whole mountain but not sure if the left side was really worth it.
Cool video, doing research on resorts before I head over there, seems you had great amounts of fun!. PS. Probs don't need to hear it, but my teaching brain must tell ya, Lean back in the powder let the ski float atop rather than digging and transferring weight to the toe , carve you're edges into the snow when turning rather than skimming side to side! once you have the technique the carvers will ya just fine in the powder! ;)
I find that many onsens around ski resorts are ok with tattoos since there are so many foreigners and they often have tattoos. At least the onsen in this vid was ok with tattoos!
Yeah I tend to like vegan options! But not sure how easy/challenging it is to eat 100% vegan 🤔 Niseko is full of foreigners so I think the restaurants should also be more considerate towards vegans (being vegan is not as common in Japan as for example western countries). As long as you look the restaurants and their options up beforehand I think it should probably be fine! 🤞
Looks nice video 😊 Hope you are happy and enjoy in your life , l am in the process of building my portfolio website as a web developer and because l respect you , l will be happy to share my portfolio link with you so you give me your feedback , and finally sending you much respect ❤😊
Because Rory had booked our accommodation with dinners included. Apparently he thought that we'd be so exhausted from skiing that we'd just want to grab a quick dinner at the hotel. But I would definitely recommend trying different restaurants since the Niseko Hirafu area has quite a nice selection! So don't make the same mistake as we did :)

Thank you for coming to TOSHIRO'S BAR! We are moving to SANSUI NISEKO next winter!
Thank you, the drinks were amazing!

Great blog. Did you ski at the ski resort in front of your balcony and is that Grand Hirafu ski resort?
Yes it is! And yes we did! You can access the whole mountain from hirafu, but I feel like hirafu + the one on the right of hirafu (when looking at the ski map) were the best. We did one day when we had lift passes for the whole mountain but not sure if the left side was really worth it.

Haha thanks for the tips! Need to try and remember this when I go skiing next! 🤞 Thanks for the comment, hope you enjoy your skiing trip! 😊
Did the onsen you went to allow people with tattoos? I struggle finding one’s that do :(

Nice vlog btw ~ try snowboarding ~ floats better on pow ! 👏🫶
I can only imagine!
I saw you had a couple of vegan things - how easy or hard would you say it is to find vegan food in niseko? Thanks!

Great! I did actually take a quick peek at it now that you mentioned it. Seemed good on a quick glance, keep going!
Danggg, i thought rory's a girl until he spoke 😂
Lol! 😆
Could I have a question? Why did you choose the same restaurant during your whole time in Niseko?

@oliviaimamura Thanks for your answer. Wish you have a great day.
@@nanjing_festival You too!
Some good info in this video, but you look at your skis the whole time. We want to see the terrain, not your ski tips
Totally agree! Difficult to know how the camera is angled since I can’t see the screen when it’s on my head. Next time 🤞

Thanks!

Very beautiful video. Which hotel do you stay in Niseko?
It's called Chalet Ivy Hirafu! Thanks 🫶
