      Thank you - I hope (and think) you will really like them! For a small size channel like mine, using the product links in the description moves the needle - and is very much appreciated!!

    Thanks for the video. I only became a C5 owner within the past year and wasn't aware at how easy this upgrade is. My car was all stock when I got it so it's due for some upgrades and maintenance.

    I didn't notice a huge difference when I did mine. The main benefit I got was less 'bump steer' over rough/uneven roads. I still think it was worth it though.

    I replaced the stock C5 Z06 shocks with C6 Z06 shocks on my 02 Z06. I liked the new shocks on the first drive. I also replaced the rubber sway bar bushings front and back with poly bushings. What a difference from stock!

    Great info! I put C6 Z06 shocks on my O2 vert just over a year ago. Very noticeable difference in ride over stock but always wondered if the Bilstein HD shocks were a better choice. Thanks for the video. 😊

    I took your advice and installed the C6 Z06 shocks on my C5 last year and am glad I did. They do need some time to break in as they are pretty stiff at first but after a few drives the ride is firm but not harsh and the car does handle noticeably better. The new shocks have more internal (nitrogen gas) pressure in them which actually resulted in the car sitting a little higher off the ground which is a good thing when trying to avoid scraping the frontend. Overall, a very good upgrade!

    Definitely taking those coil overs out (Pfadt race engineering) and installing new C6 Z06 shocks on my C5 Z.
    Great video, BTW!

    Great video. Agree that the C6z06 shocks are just about perfect for a C5. Myself, I put in Bilstein shocks before I knew about these. Really didn't like them until I changed my softride springs and sway bars to C5z06 spec. Now everything matches and feels balanced.

    I really need to replace my shocks as they are starting to weep a little bit, I have around 65,000 miles on my 2003 C5. My main issue is my Corvette has the F55 mag shocks and they are ridiculously expensive. I usually drive around in sport mode anyways so firmer shocks would be totally fine with me! 😊 thank you for the video and the reminder I gotta get this figured out reasonably soon.

      You can change to c6 zo6 shocks and use a tech 2 to get rid of the f55. It’s just not worth the money to get those

    I did coil overs on my C5 with no lift. Coil overs are vastly superior to any shock set up on a c5 platform. Coil overs are more adjustable, more comfortable, and make the car handle significantly better. The only difference in install is removing the leaf springs. Front is a pain, rear is cake. It is more $$$. Im in about 2k for AMT camber bolts and Viking triple adjustable coil overs.

      100% agree for the track, but looking at the mounting points, the engineer in me just can't help but think the car was never designed for everyday street use on various quality roads to carry the load through that upper shock mount on the chassis. I know all kinds of people drive these on the road and LG even drove over a big chunk of lumber, but that is different than driving a car for 45 50,000 mi everyday on bumpy roads. I used to work at a restoration shop, you should see all the stress cracks in the sheet metal on model A's from the crappy roads back in the day, it's amazing they spread everywhere. For most people, I'm sure coilovers would never be a problem.

    Thanks for shock info. Been seeing more on coil overs, but I don’t race or run my C5 too hard.
    Do you still have your stock seats in your C5 and do you have any thoughts on a good replacement seat that looks good (conservative) and doesn’t look like Speed Racer and allows non-youthful people to get in and out gracefully?

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  8 дней назад +1

      I still have the stock seats. Mine are in great shape - so that lessens the need to do something. I have sat in C5's with the amazon seats in them and they look great and seem to hold up OK. I want to sit in some Corbeau's and make sure I like them...

    Thank You ( Toys4Life c5 ) looking at your video on the changing of your shocks from the C-5 to a C6 z06 have you ever considered now with the technology that you would to a MagneRide
    suspension that the C7 Z06 has, or if anyone have ever done it before

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Год назад +1

      That would be pretty complicated, I think they're tied into the body control module. Of course some c5s do come with magnetic ride. That would be easiest, but replacement shocks are like a grand a piece I think I've heard... Yikes

    Great videos. I’m about to replace my 2002 C5 to the C6 Z06 shocks. The Z06 shocks I purchased did not come with the upper bushings and I can not find there anywhere online. Did you use your original C5 bushings?

    What do you guys recommend for a lowered C5? I have a 99 C5 with about 60k miles. It still has the original F45 adjustable suspension. I have been running lowered since 15k miles. Btw, it does ride like crap. I’m sure lowering doesn’t help and will most likely raise it up a bit.

      I believe you need to get the 2003 tuned out, and there's some question as to whether or not you can get it tuned out for the '04. I'm pretty sure you'll set codes on both unless something is tuned out with a GM tech 2 programmer.

    How long should stock c5 shocks last?

    • @Toys4Life
      @Toys4Life  Год назад

      Ballpark, 7 years or 70,000 miles. That having been sad, some shocks could fill within a year or two, some could go 15 years. Tons of variables and luck. IMO

    Roads here are pretty smooth though in Michigan where I was l could see these being pretty firm.
