I hate when I get used to a setup and then an update changes everything, then I need to re-learn again...
Thanks for the video!
Thank you def have to get used to this slight change in workflow
Thanks! I scrolled through the video to find out how the bokeh works now. I have just met some problems with project being created in previous version of Cinema in the new one. Some tip and advice: just copy your assets from old project, create new one, and save if something does not work well.
If there are old cameras in your scene your better off deleting them and remaking them.
youve been a real lifesaver for my c4d move - quality content my man - keep it up 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks!
Hi, thanks so much for this good review.
Thank you very much for keeping us updated. I really appreciate and value everything you do. the new cameras were driving me crazy. Now I have to relearn where everything is again. thank you very much again.
Glad to help!
Thank you for the overview and your work. That was really helpful.
You're very welcome!
One thing to note if you're using this for production (as I stupidly did) - C4D's take system currently doesn't recognize this camera at all. You may also find that most render farms don't recognize it either (until they update).
Unfortunately, so did I... The only workaround at the moment is (according to Maxon support) - to add a stage object to the scene and add the camera to the stage object. Then you have the possibility to select the stage object in the render-settings.
Does it not work during render time? I was able to choose redshift cameras using takes, but didn't try rendering them. There is a setting in preferences that reverts to the old RS camera setup.
@@BTB3D Thanks for the hint. But I did not find the setting in preferences to revert to the old camera. Unfortunately, it also don't work with the takes. It doesn't matter which camera is selected in the take, you'll get only a standard camera as preset in the render que. Hopefully they will fix it soon...
Thanks for amazing tutorials. Quick question, where did the back plate option moved to on dome light properties? Some say it’s now in camera properties but can’t find it. Really frustrating.
So it depends if you are using the new camera/dome light or old objects. If its the new objects, its in the camera under background.
Thanks for the video. Have you had a chance to test if the "shift camera" feature actually works for creating a very large image that can be seamlessly stitched together?
I have not! I have used Ai upscaling if I need large images.
I really like your tutorials. Are you on other social media too?
Not yet!
Thanks for your work! I'm curious where the "coc radius" slider is, it seems that it has been taken away from the new RS Camera, but WHY!?
They changed the settings in the camera, I should have a more up to date video somewhere.
When I updated to 2023.1 my camera icon totally went away from my Redshift toolbar (there's no camera icon at all under the RS Sun and Rig icon). i can manually add one from the Redshift menu at the top, but annoying that it's not in my toolbar. any idea why?
After switching your renderer to Redshift the new Standard camera replaces the old camera w/ the camera tag. You can get it back by changing your preferences in the Redshift section.
I followed your steps for the bokeh. But When I un-click or click the bokeh, I do not see the DOF on my Redshift render view. Can you help me out? I am so used to adding a redshift tag on the camera and handling the DOF but. This new way, I still don't know how to apply the DOF.
You also need to set the focus distance and adjust f-stop.
I have redshift sun and sky applied to my project but it doesn't appear when I render my animation using the RS motion camera - it just comes out looking like the basic grey scaled foundations. Im probably sounding stupid right now but can someone help?
Make sure you are using the sun and sky rig, not just the individual objects. Also make sure you are looking up since that is where you will see the sky and not below the horizon.
I'm confused why when you add a standard camera it becomes a RS Camera but when I add a Standard Camera its not a RS camera
Make sure your renderer is set to Redshift.
looks like in RT mode camera shift x or y doesn't do anything
I don't if i'm trippin but now when I start cinema 4d and add a camera it's automatically a RS Camera instead of a regular camera and idk how to get back to a regular camera with the green highlight cone. The RS Camera is orange and when i click off that camera onto a different object the cone is no longer there.
I just wanna know how do i get my regular camera back with the green cone?
They made RS the default renderer so now you get the RS camera by default. In a new scene, you can switch the renderer to standard, physical, etc. and that should let you create a regular camera.
One huge question - WTF happened to the Target Camera?? How would I create a camera target, I can't seem to find it in any option
Under animation tags there is there a target tag. Add that to a camera. Use a null as the target object.
How come in the latest version there isn't an optical tab?
Make sure you are using the latest version of Redshift.
