I know many people say his was an unhealthy obssessive love but I think his actions showed the deep love of a man who thought of her needs first rather than his own which is really what love is. He had low self-esteem, a baggage from his past and also from society's attitude during that era. He was not able to deal with it despite his power and money. It reflected on his love for her who was a noblewoman. He knew he could not have her and the nearest to having her was the precious lock of her hair and the touch of her silk skirt. The cutting of her hair was very significant. Long hair worn as a plait signified an unmarried maiden. Married women were not allowed to wear a plait but styled into a chignon at the back. I guess having a lock of her hair was his way of being with her forever. I was fascinated by his character and I must say Yoo Yeon-seok did an amazing job of playing this antihero!

Na verdade ele cortou os cabelos dela para protegê-la, pois ela estava sendo alvo do vilão e assim ele tirou o alvo das costas dela e colocou nele mesmo. O amor dele por ela não tem nada de obsessivo, na verdade foi muito altruísta, pois mesmo sabendo que não poderia tê-la, ele a protegeu até o fim.
Foi um amor platônico, acredito que mesmo com tanto amor ele sempre a ofendia pq sabia que aquele romance era impossível, pelo sistema de classes, então escolheu só a proteger e se tornar alguma parte dela, nem que fosse ódio ou apenas marcar algum momento da vida dela
