Best drama ever.. no atleast one kiss scene but never felt love this real from any other drama..their chemistry and love for each other is hard to describe. After the last 2 episodes it was so hard for me to forget it. Because this broke my heart yet in a beautiful way. Still not able to bear the pain when i see their scenes and ost. This is a heartbreaking rollercoaster ride giving you all the emotions for the real. Never felt like this for any drama before and for sure not in the future too...
Ah, but there was a kiss....he kissed her picture. I love this drama. Wuthering Heights and Mr. Sunshine are eternally my favorite stories of all time.

I never believed it would be a sad ending. The beginning was sad enough to trick me into thinking it would end happily. When all of them died I cried so much, it shook me that Hina died first and then all of them except Ae Shin did too. It shook me I didn’t see it coming. It hurt seeing Eugene say “그대는 나가쇼. 난 헌금 물러나니.” And then die the same why his parents did. This show makes Hollywood look shitty. The story plot is absolutely amazing, it will make anyone cry. Great actors, they explain every line with looking at each other. Has anyone also noticed they all died for Ae Shin to survived? Hina died trying to save Ae Shin from the fire. Hui Sung didn’t spill any secrets about the Righteous Army so she would survive and then he died from being beat up. Eugene, oh shit we all know. I’m not sure about Dong Mae though. Let’s all remember the story of Joseon was like this. How much people died in risk of other people’s lives. Love is not about sex and kisses. They way you feel about one person and another and how much you show it.
Ur comment is actually my feeling towards this shows. I recently completed watching mr.sunshine and can't get over them at all. It made me cry, smile... I felt all their emotions.... Every country has uncountable number of people's who had sacrificed their life for their HOMELAND. Thank you Kim Eun sook for writing such a great story

One of the best drama with an interesting ,little known historical theme. A lots of different characters played fantastically by the actors.''Gun,glory ,sad endings...'' but I can say also unconditional love...
To be honest I only like the scenery and music in descendants of the sun and goblin..there was not that much of a story telling there ( in goblin I only like the story between the second leads😍) but in Mr. Sunshine there aren’t any kissing scenes or much of skin-ship but the love they had was much more deep than any other couple..it was all shown by their eyes..I must say that the lead actors nailed it on point! And the story telling was on point as well. In Mr. Sunshine, every character had a story, no one was wasted and it was shown rather than telling. I actually thought Goblin and DOTS were the best since they had all big and famous actors in lead roles but after watching mr.sunshine I realized that this drama is a drama with A list actors and a great storyline, a whole package!! Even when you listen to the ost of this drama it breaks your heart. big salute to the actors, writers and directors of Mr. Sunshine. Best drama forever!!

Knowing that they will eventually part ways. He must has really loved Ae sin deeply to sacrifice a lot and step back for her. The story is truly deep. Never felt so heart broken after watching a drama.
Everything in this movie was amazing. The expert filmmaking, unspoken love, dialogs, cruel parts, scenery, the power of the Korean people united to protect their beloved ones and their country. every actor chosen with a pincer. Humor at its best. An opening up to Korea's history for a European person like myself knowing nothing of this rich culture and history.

Though I'm a bit late, but still this drama is one of a kind. For me, this is the most heartbreaking yet wonderful Korean drama I've watched. Honestly, I'm not really a fan of Lee Byung Hun although I've watched many of his movie and dramas, but after I watched Mr. Sunshine I begun to realize how magnificent he is in his roles. Kim Tae ri and Lee Byung Hun suits very well their chemistry is beyond my imagination, I'd never expect they will pull the drama into Masterpiece. Kudos to all cast and staff of Mr. Sunshine! The train scenes and farewell scenes between Eugene and Ae-shin have hidden meanings. The running train represents the never-ending flow of time, and the dark tunnel represents the era when Japan forcibly invaded and ruled Korea. And, at the sacrifice of the independence activist (Eugene), he died in the tunnel together with Japan (the invaded country), and he helped the next generation (Ae-shin) to get out of the tunnel (one piece). Although the time (train) of these (independence activists) has stopped, it means to present a blue light and sunlight (independence) to the next generation (Ae-shin).
yeah. i was sincerely impressed with the cinematography. they were really careful with the angle and lighting and it beautifully fleshed out the mood of each scene.
for kdrama it's definitely the best! but you should check chinese dramas like Story of Yanxi Palace and Rise of The Pheonixes (on netflix) the scale is also top notch!
The cast is incredible, the chemistry is like seen only rarely. So terrifically sad, I can not watch the ending again. I never knew how horrible the Japanese were and how thew rest of the world was so oblivious to what was going on. Sad ending, yes, it breaks my heart.

I never cried my eyes until it puffs with another kdramas. The last 2 episodes is so heartbreaking. Making me reflect on the current war that is happening between Ukraine and Russia. The lives of innocent were being stolen by them.

Agree with you. I notice how most shows couples has kissing and making outs almost every scene. I'm like can they please not make out every episode. Like this episode they should talk about their feeling and just enjoy eachothers company without it being about showing love through sex or make outs.
I honestly never finished Goblin coz .... IDK. This one broke me. It's 1am, just finished it and I need someone to talk to about it. Every character was useful and they all connected perfectly. I was hoping for a happy ending up until the train scene. Their chemistry, their acting, I believed they were in love even without any sex/kissing scenes. After they all died, I hoped Eugene would survive. Sigh I can now sleep.

I never cried my eyes until it puffs with another kdramas. The last 2 episodes is so heartbreaking. Making me reflect on the current war that is happening between Ukraine and Russia. The lives of innocent were being stolen by them.

This drama makes me believe that best romance dont need kiss scene. Their chemistry, their eyes, talk many things. I cant move on even after 2 years.
Agree with you. I notice how most shows couples has kissing and making outs almost every scene. I'm like can they please not make out every episode. Like this episode they should talk about their feeling and just enjoy eachothers company without it being about showing love through sex or make outs.

I honestly never finished Goblin coz .... IDK. This one broke me. It's 1am, just finished it and I need someone to talk to about it. Every character was useful and they all connected perfectly. I was hoping for a happy ending up until the train scene. Their chemistry, their acting, I believed they were in love even without any sex/kissing scenes. After they all died, I hoped Eugene would survive. Sigh
I can now sleep.
