I am so happy these days thanks to IZONE, they remind me of SNSD back in the days. All the members get so well together, their shows are so good to watch because of that ! I never stan any group aside SNSD. I always update and listen to music from another groups but never truly stan them. IZ*ONE is the only group that I stan other than my queen GG. They just have the similar feel to GG I just don't know why. You should watch each members performance in the show to truly appreciate them tho. Some members is very underused in the group. But each of them are so diverse. Like each has different strength and weakness.
OMG, finally someone else realized that La vie en rose it's about PINK, while the song is all about red! I actually had a conversation with a Korean that confirmed me that the first time that the expression "La vie en rose" was translated in Korean, the translator had done a very poor job, so he mistook "Rose" as the flower and not the pink colour, because in French they are both called Rose... So basically Koreans have been saying the wrong translation for ages now and no one cared to change that 😅 This is a topic that is particularly dear to me, as I study translation, and the fact that the song didn't match with the meaning of its title just bothered me so much 🤣

IZ*ONE is a Korean-Japanese girl group formed through Produce 48, a survival show where both Korean trainees from different companies and Japanese idols from AKB48 will get chosen by the viewers from what they show (mostly talent and visual). Produce 48 is a part of the survival show series, "Produce 101", but the only thing different is that Japanese idols from AKB48 are invited to compete. Produce 101 was the show that made IOI and Wanna One. However, all groups formed from Produce 48 can't last for a very long time. For example, IOI's contract only lasted for one year and the members had to go back to their respective companies and either join a group or go solo. The members range 24 to 14. The girl groups when it comes to love is a pure innocent love when the group have young members. Violeta or violet is a name of a flower, a color (purple) and a girls name. Flowers so far has been part of the Korean music concept.
It's not what Violet's mean but more so the symbolism of the violet flower; giving a violet flower to someone would show the giver's “thoughts were occupied with love” about the recipient. This is key to the message of the song which is encouraging their lover to be more open and show how amazing they are to the world. The La Vie En Rose thing, which directly translates to "life in pink" has a more accurate translation of seeing life through rose-tinted glasses, hence why rose was a big motif throughout the MV and the lyrics, and it links to them wanting to be optimistic rather than cynical. Their lyrics are all very symbolic, but I love all their songs and concepts. I'm sad they'll have to disband in two years tho T.T
Actually because produce was a collaboration with 48G (AKB and their sister groups), Sakura before joining IZ*ONE she is actually one of the most popular members of 48G, so also for Japanese singles wait a completely J-pop style if you have time check some AKB songs so you have and idea.

la vie en rose is just a jumble of things lost in translation (french -> english -> korean -> english) so it's completely normal that you got confused lol. la vie en rose was originally a french song by edit piaf and it's about how love blinds you so much that when you're with your significant other you see everything in pink (i.e. idealized, as in a dream, perfect). the composers of izone's lver took the english meaning of rose (as you can hear from the girls' pronunciation - they don't say rolled r - long o - z as a french person would, they say rose as the flower in english) and played on it. from my limited knowledge of korean I've noticed that making something red / coloring something read usually means dying something with love, and when the world around you is sparkling it's also a sign of love. so combine all of that and you have a song that's ripe with meaning, but you also need to have a language degree to understand it.
the letters of izone can not be taken literally and have more deeper meaning when you set out to decipher it. Violet in Spanish is a flower that in the language of flowers means sincerity and show one as it is, that is why they speak to the listener so that they are not afraid to show themselves as the person that is and not another, that we be honest as violets . I really enjoy your videos like these and the Loona where you look at multiple songs in order! I followed a lot of Produce 48, I like this group I just feel uncomfortable with how they're managed. Like the owner of Produce 48 show pretty much straight up said that the survival show full of girls as young as 13 was like "safe kiddie porn" which is disgusting and like NOTHING happened besides some people getting upset. And I saw a japanese interview with them and the host was making a ton of weird comments towards the youngest member(15?), and I just feel like if this was MY group I was managing, this shit would not fly. I like their songs, they do feel a little more manufactured than the usual girl group but that to be expected with the set up. Their new song is good though.

The title is from an older famous french song by Edith Piaf. It literally means "life in pink", but the expression roughly means "rose-colored glasses" in English, but without the negative association.
(Also they do actually say "en" the way its supposed to be. Its a nasal "ahn" rather than "ehn" like in spanish.)

IZ*ONE is a Korean-Japanese girl group formed through Produce 48, a survival show where both Korean trainees from different companies and Japanese idols from AKB48 will get chosen by the viewers from what they show (mostly talent and visual). Produce 48 is a part of the survival show series, "Produce 101", but the only thing different is that Japanese idols from AKB48 are invited to compete. Produce 101 was the show that made IOI and Wanna One. However, all groups formed from Produce 48 can't last for a very long time. For example, IOI's contract only lasted for one year and the members had to go back to their respective companies and either join a group or go solo. The same thing is also applied for Wanna One and IZ*ONE except that Wanna One's contract lasted for two years, making them disband last January, and IZ*ONE's contract lasts for two and a half years. The girl group is managed by Off The Record Entertainment (Korean company) and AKS (Japan company that produced AKB48). It consists of 12 members:

La Vie En Rose is a reference to Edith Piaf's iconic song where rose means the flower not the color.
The members range 24 to 14. The girl groups when it comes to love is a pure innocent love when the group have young members. Violeta or violet is a name of a flower, a color (purple) and a girls name. Flowers so far has been part of the Korean music concept.
Their Korean albums have a flower theme. La Vien Rose, obviously roses. Violeta, a kind of flower called violet/viola

It's not what Violet's mean but more so the symbolism of the violet flower; giving a violet flower to someone would show the giver's “thoughts were occupied with love” about the recipient. This is key to the message of the song which is encouraging their lover to be more open and show how amazing they are to the world. The La Vie En Rose thing, which directly translates to "life in pink" has a more accurate translation of seeing life through rose-tinted glasses, hence why rose was a big motif throughout the MV and the lyrics, and it links to them wanting to be optimistic rather than cynical. Their lyrics are all very symbolic, but I love all their songs and concepts. I'm sad they'll have to disband in two years tho T.T

Actually because produce was a collaboration with 48G (AKB and their sister groups), Sakura before joining IZ*ONE she is actually one of the most popular members of 48G, so also for Japanese singles wait a completely J-pop style if you have time check some AKB songs so you have and idea.

Woonyoung and Yujin are from Starship, Eunbi and Chaewon are from Woolim, Chaeyeon is from WM Ent (ex-jyp trainee), Jo Yuri is from Stone Ent, Hyewon is from 8D Creative, Minju is from Urban Works and Yena is from Yuehua (some girls from Yuehua that also participated in Produce48 with Yena just had a GLORIOUS debut with a group named Everglow, do check them out!)

la vie en rose is just a jumble of things lost in translation (french -> english -> korean -> english) so it's completely normal that you got confused lol. la vie en rose was originally a french song by edit piaf and it's about how love blinds you so much that when you're with your significant other you see everything in pink (i.e. idealized, as in a dream, perfect). the composers of izone's lver took the english meaning of rose (as you can hear from the girls' pronunciation - they don't say rolled r - long o - z as a french person would, they say rose as the flower in english) and played on it. from my limited knowledge of korean I've noticed that making something red / coloring something read usually means dying something with love, and when the world around you is sparkling it's also a sign of love. so combine all of that and you have a song that's ripe with meaning, but you also need to have a language degree to understand it.

I really enjoy your videos like these and the Loona where you look at multiple songs in order! I followed a lot of Produce 48, I like this group I just feel uncomfortable with how they're managed. Like the owner of Produce 48 show pretty much straight up said that the survival show full of girls as young as 13 was like "safe kiddie porn" which is disgusting and like NOTHING happened besides some people getting upset. And I saw a japanese interview with them and the host was making a ton of weird comments towards the youngest member(15?), and I just feel like if this was MY group I was managing, this shit would not fly. I like their songs, they do feel a little more manufactured than the usual girl group but that to be expected with the set up. Their new song is good though.
