Nice work guys! Appreciate the info and the footage! And you covered the rear subframe mounts, definitely something that Needs to be done. My question is what are you doing for cooling water and oil? Surely the temperatures are climbing. And careful changing only the transmission mounts, all the mounts should be of the same material or you risk breaking either the transmission case or croscrossmember due to twist. Or it could never happen, that's cars for ya! Any LS swaps or forced induction in your future?
enjoy it man I picked up a high mileage 325ci and I love it just needs a little love on the maintenance but it’s pretty solid for being over 200k miles
I've just done an rb20det swap into my 318i sedan. I did the subframe reinforcements and custom transmission cross member to fit the nissan transmission mount. Custom engine mounts and fitted new BMW engine mounts. I'll consider doing the handling mods you guys did next.
I personally didn't like the 3.46 ram it for a year and went back to 3.38 on a 330i. I'm gonna look into an LSD swap because these welded diffs last me about a year or two at a time.
you guys should try the Armageddon trans and engine mounts they are solid alu so no movement at all . might cause strain on other stuff but im not sure.
How many events have you done on the cnc71 angle bracket? How often do you bolt check? & do you just use OEM torque specs? I only ask because forum guru’s only have negative comments but I’ve seen similar kits on other chassis that work great and Id like to add some angle. It’s pretty much this or the full SLR/mantis kits which are over 10x the price 🤣 Love the videos!
We've done about 4-5 events with the angle mods. We do bolt check our cars before every event. I think it came loose once. But not bad. We tightened them like you would any lower control arm nut. We also use lock tight. For the money, this is sooooo worth it. Don't forget the condor offset bushings. It makes a ton of difference.
What kind of chassis reinforcement do you recommend? I'm planning to do underside reinforcement plates, vince bar, gusset cups, and later on a Kbrace for the rear. For the front I am going for a strut brace, and strut tower reinforcement plates.
does 330 axles fit on that 3.46 diff out of the 325 ? Because 330 axles are stronger i think so it would be better to run 330 automatic diff with stronger 330 axles ?! Especially for drifting those weaker axles are going to snap all the time XD
This might seem like a stupid question but I haven't been able to find a definite answer on TCS, ABS and STM on the E46's. Do y'all have a process you do to disable all 3 on your E46 drift cars? I know you can hold the button for traction control and I have seen people remove fuses but was wondering what the best practice was. Thanks.
have you ever had any problems with snapping axles or diff output stubs? ive broken well into the 20's of both, albiet i am boosted but i run like 65psi on 225 18's, im thinking since i dont have camber arms the angle when the car squats is too much for the axles or something
@@46god is not that easy we still have the red brake light without the sensor the light comes right back up when you drive off, still trying to figure out

If you do the maintenance they’re perfect. These are pretty old now so almost all of them need the cooling system gone through because it’s probably original. Same goes for oil filter housing and oil pan gaskets. Probably the valve cover gasket as well. But as long as you aren’t leaking oil or coolant and not overheating you’re fine.

M52tu is better imo. The engines are almost identical apart from a few things. The oil rings are a bit thicker so you wont have oil consumption issues that M54's do with high mileage (200k miles plus). From what I've heard the way that they made the aluminum blocks are a bit better than they did with the M54's. theres micro bubble pockets in the M54 blocks that make it easier to fail when the engine gets hot. And theres a few other minor differences as well. I just boosted my M52tub25 with 260k miles and have driven it 500 miles so far without any issues
Anyone run a 3.46 on a 6 speed b25? Wondering how the gearing is. Just bought a 325i with a ZF 6 speed swap. Has a misfire and open diff so can’t exactly test it out yet lol
Id say some weight reduction can help a bit aswell
I'm so stoked I'm picking up my 330 this weekend can't wait to finally get into the drift game!!!
How is it going I just got 328 and looking to see what I should do to start
Getting my 01 325i ready for drifting the vids give me so much motivation !!
Let’s goooooo! That’s awesome dude
That's the dream man, drifting with ur homie and making similar builds. Very dope 👌
Thanks brother 👍
great work guys :D ive put a 4.1 diff from an X3, although we have really short smaller tracks in Greece so that helps
Great info
What year x3 😮

I had all of my bushings replaced for red duraflex. Litle expensive but it was worth it.

Would an 03 325ci 6 cyl with manual work out for a drift car? I'm new to the sport...

Are they made from Aluminium? The high difference in thermal extension might be a reason then.
Can you daily the car with these mods?
thanks guys
I wanna get into drifting but got a sedan isn’t the coupe and sedan weigh the same amount
Same chassis and weight reduction always helps

Sick ass fpv footage
Can the diff be from a 325ci ? Like the coups n verys ??? Or it has to be a 4 door ? lol
I have a question, isnt filling the rear tires at 80 psi just pop them or something since most tires are rated at 50 psi max?

don't forget about the manual transmission and the upgraded expansion tank! aaaaaaaand drilling out the oil nut but yeah 🤣

What is the horse power of the Engine ? and What is the minimum horse power I can get for E46 coupe to fit in drifting mods for beginner ?
Hey man, the 330i makes 225hp. I would highly recommend going for a 330i compared to the 325i etc.

5 speed would be easiest

by chance do you have an aftermarket trans guibo?
you need to run axel spacers i got mine from seems legit garage they help get less stress on the axels
Same for e36?
Yes, very similar. I have another video I did a long time ago on E36 setup.

Get a m52 2.8. You can tune it with some tweaks to have exact same power as 3.0 . M52 series better for things like the guy before me said 👌
