The demand for drugs is quite fixed and the demand is big enough to almost always be filled. Having dark sites like these will not increase drug consumption, but decrease street trade which is better in several ways (as mentioned in the video).
That’s not true. There are tons of people that want to do drugs but don’t want to break the law. Particularly the older to middle age crowd. Marijuana has become a lot more popular with them in legalized states because of the ease of access and not needing to know a drug dealer. Think of it in terms of video games. 9:55 "The creation of functioning, competitive, anonymous markets where nobody knows who anybody else is, constantly at risk of being shut down by the authorities is a staggering achievement -- a phenomenal achievement. And its that kind of innovation that's why those on the fringes are often the harbingers of what is to come."
The same phenomenon has been observed by people pirating s/w and finding the cracked copy is superior to the "always on/DRM-crippled" corp version. I find the history of the Internet to be fascinating, having got on in '91and worked for computer manufacturers, ISPs, e-Commerce sites, etc. It's been pretty up and down and the recent turn to corporatization has been sad, so this gives me hope.
Earlier this year, my parents went to a bed store and later that day, saw banner adverts for beds. The information collection done by huge corporations is nothing short of terrifying, and now a marketplace run by the people, for the people, with admittedly bad intentions, seems better than its legal alternatives which foresake your privacy.
They laugh, but I guarantee at least one of those audience members have used one of these sites to buy drugs beforehand... *And... Posted a five star review.*
I wonder if once TOR becomes mainstream, someone will think of a method to track people down and do exactly the same things on TOR, as they did here. I don't know exactly how it works, but I have a feeling that if it becomes mainstream there'll also be less privacy.
+Zuzanna Kosmala Tor isn't entirely secure. It has two major flaws. The first being a middle man attack. meaning any body running a node can be using a packet sniffer to capture the information passing through their node. Meaning you really shouldn't be using login credentials over tor unless absolutely necessary. Second governments/hackers can discover who you are via point to point monitoring. Meaning if you're suspected of something illegal they can find out where you're going by watching activity leaving your actual IP and correlating it with exiting traffic. Exactly how either of those methods work idk. But they're known flaws, meaning nobody with half a mind using tor is going to be using it to log into facebook. It's just a dumb idea.
+Soletestament Actaully it's methods will be far more difficult in the dark net than main web. Most of the hacks in Facebook is more social engineering than anything technical really. At least to gain information on the dark net you at least need some computer programming background.
+Soletestament Isn't a man-in-the-middle-attack a Problem for any Browser out there? Is f.e. Chrome fundamentally more secure in any way? Honest question.
+~ShiftR0ck~ : Yea that's true. It wasn't my intention to suggest using Tor was worse than using a normal browser. Simply warning of it's limitations. Many people like to think Tor is compromised when in reality it isn't. Although you're far more likely to run afoul of a hacker while randomly surfing the darknet than you are the clear net.
+busTedOaS : Yea it is a problem for all browsers. Sorry, I should clarify some. Tor is all about anonymity, meaning anything that can compromise that is a flaw. If you're not looking to remain anonymous you could download all the same plugins it uses for chrome and have all the same security benefits without the anonymity. The problem I'm mentioning is really one of probability. The deepweb and the darkweb are where a lot of bad actors frequent. It's like hiding in the crowd at a sleazy bar. Most probably are just there to mind their own business. But you're far MORE likely to run into someone who's trouble and wants to pick a fight then you would be if you were on the street. Anyone can set up a node and so it's important to be conscious of what you're doing and not go places that could give away your identity. I hope that clarifies things a little.
The progression from the time of this talk to the day I'm watching in May 2019 shows the speakers predictions have definitely progressed towards exactly what he forethought. Just think, if anyone was to have been intrigued enough by the presentation and perhaps was to purchase Bitcoin or Ethereum at the time back in 2015, they'd be sitting pretty nice right about now into the next 5-10 years to come... (May 2015 - BTC = $243 : May 2019 - BTC = $7900) (Aug 2015 - ETH = $1.25 : May 2019 = ETH = $255)
john doe Supposedly it’s a room where you can watch live torture, murder, etc, and give commands when you donate but if you actually tried to do that on Tor it would be unplayable. tl;dr it’s an urban legend.

Actually, there's not really a reason to have your packages from dark net marketplaces sent to places other than your home. No one is going to notice, but on top of that sellers often are really stealth about their packaging. Unboxing is always more fun than getting something off Amazon or some place like that
What's scary @11:00 (privacy concerns)-is that this talk was 4 years ago. It's even WORSE now. Look at all the data breaches since; hundreds of millions compromised from....retail credit cards, credit reporting agencies, etc. MILLIONS.
0:50 and I've already have my forehead bleeding from repeated facepalms. "Tor browser" is slightly modified Firefox bundled with Tor software, it wasn't developed by US Naval Intelligence. The Tor software was. But it isn't even developed intentionally for that purpose - it's mainly a way to come to the plain old "clearnet" Internet. And no: darknet is not only Tor's "hidden services". There is also I2P which is literally the abbreviation of "invisible Internet project" that sets up an anonymous network intended (and more suitable) for any general-purpose internet services like those "hidden websites". And also there are numerous other projects intended for more specific tasks like anonymous filesharing or message exchange.
+JamesScottGuitar if I'm understanding correctly, you could use facebook on tor with your real name and everything, then go buy some nukes and not be tracked. because although you have accessed your facebook account, anyone trying to follow you won't be able to trace back to who exactly accessed it, and therefore cannot link it to your nuke purchases.
Profit isn't theft when the employee agrees to the contract, to forbid them from agreeing to those contracts only serves to limit their freedom. If you want to bring about a more pro-worker society you should start by creating competing co-ops & I will defend you in doing that all the way. Just like Ross created a competing website.
lol. Yeah, that was pretty tight. He never overplayed the laughs, just enough pause to allow some catching up. And it was actually well-structured, solid explanation, clear exposition of developments, which all supported the conclusion about the growth of the dark net. Which I admit I clicked on because I thought it sounded pretty dubious. But no, I think he's right.
I used to use silk road up until the Fbi took it down. It was such an interesting place to visit. I never had a negative experience. Tor browser is coded so that it cannot reveal your internal IP address even if scripts are enabled. Overall, I can't believe how little is known/published about the Tor browser.

Akshath Killa Web browsing was not full of shopping, adverts, false blogs, listings sites and comparison sites. There was probably less information but maybe that made it easier to find. Now all I get is wikipedia, ebay, amazon and listing/comparison/shopping sites.
Reviews are 5/5 when the customer fears for their life, not when they're "king." They don't give a bad review to someone who could easily add a deadly ingredient, killing the bad reviewer, with no legal repercussion. It's the same reason Air BnB gets better reviews than hotels.

That's because universally I feel assured that the powers that be have software that reacts worldwide to the very words that he says you're to type in to go to those spots that lead you to the worldwide dark web believe me big brother is watching you they're right up on this thing don't think that you or anybody can get away with anything illegal on a computer I'm so glad that when I was a young teenage boy coming up there was no such thing as a home computer look how many teenages look how many parents have lost their children to federal prisons because they attempted to print counterfeit money or print counterfeit football tickets counterfeit postage stamps on their color printer oh my it's been a Temptation that many a child has fallen into and separated parents from their children.. I don't own a computer and probably never will the closest thing I have to a computer is a tablet and I even have that only because somebody gave it to me and I watch movies on it if I were to purchase a computer the first day owning it it would be so messed up because the powers-that-be would be so hacked into it watching everything that I do and It wouldn't even function right
I appreciate your perspective and agree with you. My interest was in security and software to be able to continue to use my OS i am most familiar with .
They call it the Dark web but really isn't it actually the web that isn't controlled by google, every thing you do on line goes through google even Fire Fox Dose google searches, not Firefox Search any more.
Hm, would a good thing to do be only use your device in a public place with free wifi, then take out the battery before going home for just in case someone somehow does get your location?
Ry Sim the only way to shut down these sites is by raiding a centralized server, and then hacking into it. Absolutely impossible to destroy everyone of them.
They only get "busted" if the ones controlling these pages are making mistakes, Ie. Old Silkroad owner "bragged" on a forum about being the one controlling the site, the police got to know about this and tracked him down. I have not heard about anyone being busted for any other reasons. Several of these sites have been running without no fuzz for almost a decade.

I can show you the way to the dark side 😈 Pretty cool though. Back in the day I was buying pure alprazolam and a few other ingredients/fillers, I bought this huge press and I was making actually Xanax without any fentanyl. I have a few friends that had a huge problem with Xanax but there is no real Xanax on the streets and doctors barely prescribe 1 mg pills, let alone 2 mg bars.. So I basically bought in bulk, and pretty quickly it payed for the press and the product and my friends were buying from a reliable person who also tested the alprazolam or any other filler needed to make the pill as authentic as possible. People will use drugs no matter what. If you provide them with safer drugs I think it's a win win situation.
Vet Wagine smart guy this one. He is on RUclips on a video about the dark web talking about him buying a pill press and making his own Xanax and selling it to it his friends. Ignorance at its finest. Good job m8
I think its important to mention how slow tor browsers are as your IP address changes constantly. Like loading a page could take 5-10 minutes. Even a free VPN is too slow for me. Convenience > privacy for me

Actually, there's not really a reason to have your packages from dark net marketplaces sent to places other than your home. What's scary @11:00 (privacy concerns)-is that this talk was 4 years ago. It's even WORSE now. Look at all the data breaches since; hundreds of millions compromised from....retail credit cards, credit reporting agencies, etc. MILLIONS.

So what exactly does that mean if Facebook is on the dark net?
+JamesScottGuitar People in places like China where it is blocked can then use facebook.
But doesn't that negate The Nature of The Dark Net?
+JamesScottGuitar if I'm understanding correctly, you could use facebook on tor with your real name and everything, then go buy some nukes and not be tracked. because although you have accessed your facebook account, anyone trying to follow you won't be able to trace back to who exactly accessed it, and therefore cannot link it to your nuke purchases.

Taxation is theft, DNM's provide a better service anyway.

Profit isn't theft when the employee agrees to the contract, to forbid them from agreeing to those contracts only serves to limit their freedom.
