Great overview Willie! I have several Reolink systems out in production. They’ve been up for a few years and pretty reliable. Clients are happy with them. Had one issue with an RLC-423 PTZ where the motor froze up after a few months of use. It was still under warranty. The exchange process was painless.

Have quite a few reolinks installed in several different locations. Most are with NVRs (mostly synology), but we have two cameras in an install where the client just gets an email from the cameras based on motion. The cameras are great for the price. Don’t have any expectations on the “detection” algorithms. They are garbage, but we didn’t buy these for that purpose, so we’re super pleased with the performance we’ve seen for their price point.

I have some Reolink 410s and a 520, feeding into my Hikvision NVR and the Reolink app, both. Incredibly decent for the money. The night image is not great, in terms of capturing details of objects in motion. You can see that there is a person, yes, but don't expect features to be recognizable. That generally requires considerably better than a "budget start camera", though, so you get what you pay for. Given the features for the money, I'm still happy with mine.

New to this system. Does each camera's network cable run directly in the NVR or is a POE switch required? Also if a POE switch is required, what is the best recommended one?

The Android app has a slight quirk where the playback features do not show up on chromebooks. It's likely an easy developer display switch.

Great Vid. Yes, these are definitely functional "budget" cams. I'm testing them with a Blue Iris server outside of the circuit/lan the cams are on. Trying to simply use rtsp protocol, i.e port forward from inside to the outside / Public IP.... 554 to 556, 558 etc... Point is to try and make it easy and have the customer "manage /install" their own server wherever they are. Instead of having the server on my circuit (cameras are local to my network). Seems to sort of work. Though I think it should be seeing the "onvif" and other ports. I just don't want to have to forward all the needed ports. If that makes any sense. Does it sound realistic to you?
