It's nice to see Sir Handel telling the story. Now I don't remember _this_ happening back then. No. 2--Smudger, or Stanley, or whatever--was an American showoff who "rode roughly and often came off the rails." Never did I imagine Stuart feel so angry or act so aggressively. Guess he must've been tempted to push Andreas into a turntable well. LOL
His series is based on the railway series. So he doesn't usually bring in TV series characters. With Stanley being number 2 in the railway series, that's who he brings in. Smudger takes over the role of stanley in the episode of granpuff in the show. Though you may already know that now
What a strong introduction to this character. To be honest, I expected when Charlie mentioned Andreas, Peter Sam would've blown his top based on his remark about Atlas. But it's a very intriguing introduction.
Its nice to see your doing some old storys of the old railway its very good to see that agin.I miss this stuff, the firsr time I saw the duke storys on vhs I fell in love with them.
Great job again Dan! I like how you developed the idea of Andreas, he's definitely a selfish, ignorant little jerk indeed! He'll make even TV Series characters like Spencer look like a wallflower, and after hissing at his fireman like that, he's got another thing coming!
This was an interesting episode. Impressive that Andreas' personality develops so rapidly. The RWS Skarloey Railway models do look like a lot of time and work were taken to make them.
Ooh, cliffhanger now. I love how Duke calls Sir Handel and Peter Sam by their old names. It really adds to their relationship. Andreas is a fun character to watch, and I never knew Stuart/Peter Sam to have a strong temper. Usually, that'd be for Falcon/Sir Handel. Interesting turn of the tables there. Atlas is a good character too. He's grown on me right away (I'd call her a girl in my series, but the name is gender neutral and the author never confirmed it so ok.). Overall, this episode is great.
+TobyandMavisforever I figure that Stuart isn't easily angered, but he stands by his friends. He didn't get really angry until Andreas started putting Atlas down.
@@WildNorWester in your story did the Mid Sodor buy Andreas as another second hand ROD engine or is it likely that he was newly built as the engines that Andreas is based on was still being built for a short while after the end of WW1. if this story is set in the early 1920S
Brilliant episode! I realized how Andreas is a bit like Stanley; both have 4-6-0 wheel sets, both were No.2 on the Mid Sodor Railway, and both were very arrogant engines. And considering what happened to Stanley, oh boy.... I don't know what kind of fate you have in store for Andreas (I'm sure his punishment won't be as severe as Stanley's was as in the S2 Part 1 trailer, Duke tells Andreas that he "got off lightly"), but I take it that his story is going to end pretty abruptly for him.... Can't wait for next week!
Not only was there a great plot and cliffhanger, but great modeling job. However, I feel that Andreas may be my new favourite character, he has a topclass model and his voice sounds EXACTLY like Johnny Morris, the original RWS narratror. Brilliant!
@@WildNorWester you know when I start Thomas and Friends tales from The railway series Andreas isn't going to be a jerk he's actually a nice engine in my series and the two root engines were Stanley and Albert (who is the only mid sodor engine to not exist in your series)
Andreas should know what happened to Stanley! That would make him think. Great job on this, I feel like we don't get enough mid sodor stories on RUclips.
+Jinty the Midland Engine Even though America was always trying to out do Britain in absolutely everything I can't doubt that he would be either. It doesn't matter which one he is, he's being useless.
“Politics was something they usually avoided” nice to think about the engines of the skarloey railway having the same debates I have over the family dinner table
I absolutely love this new season, as well as the models you've created. The really do look nice. I see you're well read up on your Sudrian history, based on the Wellsworth & Suddery locomotive at the station. Also, would I be correct in saying Atlas has his basis in one of the locos from the Reverend's Mid Sodor layout?
Here's a tip about junction trigger distance. It can be change in the third menu under the tracks window at the bottom, click it, you'll see a number it should be 20.0 this is the trigger distance in meters you can change this to whatever value you want even 0. Click the button that says apply trigger distance to any junction or trigger you'll like. If you already knew this you can just ignore this. :3
If I had so much as one little shred of respect for that Andreas, it's long gone by now! Those careless acts of his not only cause the "Big C&D," but show a lack of good character, too.
Awesome story! And one other thing SPOILER Am I right in guessing Atlas is currently inside the mill on the Arlesdale railway, the one that spoke to Olivia?
+WildNorWester Three Cheers for WildnorWester HIP HIP HA RAY HIP HIP HA RAY HIP HIP HA RAY Well done wildnorwester you've out done you self again Very Well done Mate
Hmmm... What Andreas said about Atlas. It just doesn't sound right coming from a narrow guage engine, even if Atlas is a... well tank? Also, the MSR has an express. Was that inspired by the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway which is basically a mainline railway inn 1/3 scale?
Well, well, well, it looks like Andreas is in "BIIIG Trouble" now! He really seems much worse than James, Gordon, Smudger/Stanley/No. 2, or the other big engines on the North Western Railway. Let's wait until next time to find out what Andreas' punishment will be after this.
Will you make a Stanley model? I mean you'd do the world a favor XD please make one you'd be the first to make a accurate Stanley model that looks good. Anyway I love this episode I really like the new smudger like character I think he looks strong and cool Grate work western! ;)
😱😱 What a troublesome engine! I can't wait till he sees sense. Is it safe to say that Atlas was the engine in the mill? After all, they do have the same voice actor.
I’ve always wanted the Andreas model, as many times as I’ve watched this I thought it would be nice, but of course when I finally get Trainz the website closed down, it makes me mad that people would reskin your amazing models without permission.
He was only ever called Smudger in the TV series. In the Railway Series, on which my episodes are based, he was called Stanley: ttte.wikia.com/wiki/Stanley_(narrow_gauge). You'll find that the book featuring him was published in 1970, whereas the TV episode featuring Smudger was made in 1995 - a good 25 years later.
The guy who complained must have no life at all, he missed his train and therefore, complained. Most managers wouldn't take that complaint up at all and just have the blunt reply of "get a later train". Do you think that the manager singled Andreas out? I mean surely the railway would be getting more complaints then just one person... The manager would have had to do some nit-picking amongst all of the feedback for it to actually work.
This takes place on a different railway - the Mid-Sodor. As for Rheneas and Duncan, I hadn't made the models for them for this episode. That doesn't mean they're gone.
+WildNorWester ah, I misheard Skarloey and Rusty. They were counting Duncan and Rheneas among the 5-6 engines working while the mid Sodor trio were being interviewed.
Though, one complaint, that guard blew his whistle and in all trains sodor/real world that means its time do go. So you can't put this all on Andreas. 🙄

Peter Sam a.k.a. Stuart
Sir Handel a.k.a. Falcon
Its kind of sad how all of the blame was put on him. He only followed the guards whistle but it was his own stupidity that caused his downfall.
It was more about the fact he tried to lie and cover it up.
I've Never Seen An Engine Like Andreas Before But Now I Have.
Another fine video well done
7:18 It was partly the guard's fault too. He did blow the whistle early. I'm not saying Andreas is innocent, but still.
