That looked like an Appalachian Stack Cake and they are amazing.
They are a lot of work to make and I believe a tradition that goes far back is that was a typical cake for a wedding but different families would add a layer of the cake to it to show the newlyweds that their community loves and supports them. 💖

Sharalee, you with that gorgeous head of hair enough hair for two people and your brother is bald. I am the only girl with three brothers one has passed. He had some hair the other two lost all their hair like my grandfather my mother’s dad. My dad had a full head of hair when he passed at 95. Happy I still have pretty decent hair in my middle 70s thanks to my dad,. So nice that you could go be with your family on a happy occasion nothing like a wedding to make great memories and smiles.😁💒

Awww, thank you💖 Low Country Boil is corn on the cob, potatoes, sausage, shrimp (and sometimes other seafood) that is boiled and then usually just dumped out on a table. Then everyone just uses their forks to grab what they want😘
